Koffee Sutra

My favorite place to get coffee out of all the places I’ve visited in Western Washington. I always make it a point to stop here on my way to work (which is very far away) because they have THE BEST coffee. They also use a lot of homemade ingredients, which means that it is one of the only coffee shops where I can have a flavored coffee that I’m not allergic to! Kelly has always been helpful when it comes to letting me know what ingredients are in which of her foods, and she’s always been correct. All of the baristas do a fantastic job (my personal favorite is Val). Thank you for spreading happiness through the form of coffee in Issaquah!

Barista was super kind and friendly. Coffee was good too! Very cute and colorful location. We will be back sometime soon!

I drink a lot of coffee, and I’ve been to MANY coffee places. This place hands down makes the best coffee I’ve ever had! Their vanilla lates are seriously the best ever!!! Whenever I’m in Issaquah I come here! I wish there was a great place like this by my place in Seattle! The people are really friendly too and love talking to you!

Coffee was good and tasted great. My issue is I cannot get a hold of the business at all because I believe I left my card there. I have been calling at various times for 3 straight days and not a single person answers the phone number they have listed on multiple sites.

Love love love this place! Apparently ¾ of issy does too, as sometimes the line can be a bit long, but the baristas are pros and crank out thise drinks!
Kelly, the owner, is simply awesome and really takes care of her regulars.
@stephenD most coffee stands don’t sell drip coffee as an americano is very similar and a coffee pot takes up too much counter space ;) I thought you knew that.

I am visiting and have gone to this little coffee stand 4 times during my trip and had a great experience each time. The baristas are friendly and the lattes have been good each time. I will say that the first latte far exceeded the subsequent ones (though they were all good) and one of the baristas was on the phone and another was chatting with a friend on two of the visits but the prices are great, they’re fast, the espresso is pretty good and I obviously liked it enough to keep going back. I’m sure I’d be a regular if I lived here. :)

Been here twice and I can’t get drip since they never have it! What the heck?
Looks like they also use genetically modified milk and not organic like most places.
Price and location are fine.

Best coffee stand in Issaquah hands down. Very large selection of syrups, Batista’s are friendly, qualified and fully clothed. The way they should be.

Love having such great coffee so close to home! Run by a great group of women who offer excellent service every time. This place is definitely a necessity in the heart of downtown Issaquah!

Everytime I drive by here I have wanted to visit. And after hiking, we found the perfect resting point.

Another quaint little drive-​thru coffee place! The eggnog latte was just right — creamy but not too sweet, hot without burning the tongue. The barista was very cheerful and quick as well. We didn’t try any of the foods but by the looks of their menu, they had just about everything — 5 – 6 kinds of bagels, muffin tops, cookies, breakfast sandwiches (including a vegetarian one!). Definitely need to go back to try out more of their food and drinks!

All the girls that work there now are friendly and make great drinks. Their coffee is so good and tastes a lot better than Starbucks.

My girlfriend and I visit Koffee Sutra on a regular basis. What really stands out about this place is that most of the food items are homemade and delicious, and they use high-​quality syrups for their coffee. I love that I can walk there and get a delicious mocha (made with Hershey’s syrup) and have great conversations with the lovely ladies who work there.
If you’re looking for a great place to get coffee in downtown Issaquah, I definitely recommend giving Koffee Sutra a try.

Moving out of Cap Hill to Issaquah was something I was looking forward to but also sad for me. I have routines and «my coffee people,» after all. I chat with these people on a daily basis. A good barista can make or break a lot in my world. :P
These ladies made living in Issaquah effortless and such a breeze for me. I admit, I was not thrilled to try new places … I grudgingly stopped by one day and then was pleasantly surprised. Kelsey (sp?) asked me what I wanted. I said I wasn’t sure but could she surprise me with something warm and spicy like fall flavors. She did and it became my signature drink.
Almost every day, I walk to the stand, or end my running route there, and chat with the owner and the other baristas. Down to earth, happy to serve and no bullshit? I was a Bauhaus fan through and through… These people give my all time favorite coffee place a run for its money. I’m so, so glad I tried Koffee Sutra. They welcomed me into Issaquah with their bad ass selves and I’m ever grateful. Their drinks never disappoint. Neither do they as people.
And that is awesome :) after going there faithfully for 2+ months about 4 – 5 days a week? They deserve a raving review. Such consistency.

I love this place! The pastries are amazing and the coffee is awesome. I usually get a mocha here and it’s great, I can tell they put alot of effort into the quality of the drinks they serve, they aren’t just trying to use the cheapest products and charge the highest prices. Definitely high quality and friendly faces!

I haven’t been to this stand very many times, and I’d honestly like to keep it that way. The coffee is ok, when I do get what I’ve come to order. There have been occasions where I’m told they do not have the ingredients to make a specific drink. Irritating.
There was one instance though where I was put-​off enough to never come back. I ordered my drink, a flavored latte, and was continuing to read the menu of baked goods they have at the window when I came across a french toast bagel. Well I had only stopped by for my drink this sounded too good to pass up so I asked the blonde girl working if I could also have a toasted bagel. She said yes, but then continued in a less then desirable tone that next time I wanted to a bagel to order if first because it holds up the line of cars. I almost didn’t know what to say, I sputtered out an ok and got out of there as quick as I could.
Ultimately, the products were average, but the fact that the barista made me feel like an inconvience to her was not ok. I am a paying customer, you are a barista. Toasting bagels and doing to with a smile is your job. End of story.

This place is great. I found Koffee Sutra when I began working in Issaquah almost five years ago. I’ve had their Caffè Americano, hot chocolate, iced mocha, and chai– all consistently wonderful, just like the service. Living in Seattle, I’ve had some great coffee but this is actually some of the best I’ve ever had.
This espresso drive thru goes out of its way all the time. In fact, this evening I had a long wait for the bus and walked over to Koffee Sutra in hope of getting some hot chocolate and a bagel to stay warm at the bus stop. Right as the barista opened the windows for me, I noticed the sign with their hours which indicated that they had already closed for the night. I said that I didn’t realize they were closed and started to walk away but the barista (who I’m pretty sure is actually the owner) said she’d be happy to make something for me. She said she couldn’t make everything on the menu but recited a long list of choices. When she made my hot chocolate, she paused before telling me she was going to add a little toasted marshmallow flavor. She just said it was really good– it was a nice touch, and it really made the drink.
I usually pay in cash since this is a small business and it’s true that there is a small transaction fee for credit card purchases less than $ 5 that gets passed on to the customer. The frequent customer card is great though– getting a free drink after 10 purchases more than makes up for the odd times I don’t have cash and end up paying the transaction fee. Plus, I buy 8 oz drinks and sometimes they’ve given me a larger sized freebie drink, which is a nice treat.
Koffee Sutra is a perk of commuting to the Eastside.

Koffee Sutra is conveniently located and serves mediocre espresso. Frequently while visiting this coffee stand I have received cold lattes and even chillier service. On my last, and I must say, FINAL visit the Batista took it upon herself to confront me about the last tip that I gave her. Apparently, she became accustom to me leaving her a dollar each time I came through (despite being charged 35 cents illegally for using a Visa/​mastercard) and was «insulted» by my ten cent tip. the last time I checked tips were not required, and after frequenting this coffee stand for four years and leaving a DOLLAR each time I visited I was shocked and offended by her interaction with me. Small businesses should take note: treat your customers with kindness and respect and they will come back. Treat them poorly and they will tell everyone they know, and write about it on Unilocal

I love espresso drive-​thrus and try new ones every chance I get. I saw Koffee Sutra after visiting the furniture store kitty corner to it and was greeted warmly by the barista (also the owner). My pumpkin spice was delish. There was a great balance between the pumpkin flavor and coffee. 100% organic, fair trade coffee also helps :) The pastries were also excellent. I had a frosted maple cookie from a different merchant (I forget the name) which was so good I had to keep myself from eating all of it (it was intended for my daughter). Her pumpkin loaf was excellent as well. Glad this drive-​thru is on the way to my son’s preschool. Will be visiting more for sure.
