Specialties
We buy, sell and consign secondhand furniture, housewares and home décor. Sellers are welcome to walk-in with their items, or contact us to discuss their items and the selling process. Because we source directly from our community, our merchandise is as eclectic as Ithaca itself! On any given day, you will find vintage, mid-century, contemporary, antiques, primitive, mission, industrial or simple everyday furniture like Ikea or Target. Shoppers can furnish a new apartment, decorate a summer home or just have fun decorating and making lots of changes! Visit our blog/website mimisatticithaca.com for decorating inspiration and fun «before and after» stories. For information about selling and consigning with us, click on the «how it works» page.
History
Established in 2010.
Long-time residents of Ithaca will know the Mimi’s Attic building as the former home of Bishops Home Pro Center. When Bishops went out of business in 2010 leaving 4,000 square feet of retail space and a loading dock entrance, the idea of Mimi’s Attic was born. Mimi’s Attic owner, Kelly Moreland, also owns Mama Goose (a gently-used children’s clothing store) right next door and wanted the building to have a fun synergy that invited lots of traffic, browsing and «trading». Furniture, housewares and home décor where a natural extension of her interests and the interests of her long-time Mama Goose customers. Mimi’s Attic was named after Kelly’s grandmother, Mimi, who was a flea market enthusiast. When you enter the store, you will find large, poster-sized black and white photos of Mimi as a young woman in the 1940’s. Her elegance, style and love of unique treasures epitomize the spirit of Mimi’s.
