EcoTour Adventures

We just spent the day with Laura Krusheski our guide and had the most awesome experience. Not only was she crazy smart about the areas wildlife and spotting it while on the move. She also knew an amazing amount about the geological aspects, flora and history of the area. We learned so much and she was a wonderful host. We spotted elk, moose, bison, fox, beaver bald eagle big horn sheep, coyote, deer, an unkindness of Raven and a wolf pack. A great day! Definitely a tour company we will use again.

The best experience ever! We booked a full day tour of Teton and a full day of Yellowstone. We were so impressed by the tour of Teton with our guide, Noelle, that we called and requested her for the Yellowstone tour a couple of days later. We learned so much. I especially liked how Noelle was so good with children. We had our 6 year old with us (also a nature lover and well-​versed in birds) and the tour was fun for all of us. I am a vegetarian and Noelle (also a vegetarian) knew exactly the best places to stop for lunch. She also followed up with a few moose photos that we didn’t get on our cameras. We also appreciated the water and great snacks. Noelle was so interesting and had so many facts on everything! In addition, it was so obvious that she LOVES what she does as so many of her stories involve «While I was out hiking yesterday, I pulled out my binoculars and saw…» or «I just had to go out at dusk to try to see some…» all of this after leading so many tours! She never tires of nature and that makes the tours so fun!

I went on a three day long overnight Yellowstone/​Grand Tetons adventure. Our guide Peter was amazing, knowledgeable, entertaining, accommodating, encouraging, and just plain much beyond ordinary wonderful. Not to mention cute. We saw so many species of mammals and birds. Oh, so many species of mom and their kids. Pete knew just where and when to spot the animals. We Also saw and were educated on the geology about the mountains, plains and geothermal points of interest. This company had a spotting scope along with lending out really good binoculars for each of us to use. The tour group included many of the meals and hotel night stays. Could not ask for a more eco-​minded travel group. Local sourced supplies and zero use of disposables. I highly recommend Eco Tour Adventure for anyone for a single day or multi-​day adventures. I also plan on using Eco Tour when I am next in Jackson.

We experienced the half day tour of Grand Teton National Park and it was fabulous! My husband and myself were picked up early in the morning to get great animal views. We were not disappointed in the least! It was only my husband and myself with 4 guides in training plus Josh. They were all wonderful! We learned so much and saw so many more animals then we did when we were on our own. Josh would pull over the van and the other guides would get out and set scopes on the animals so we would have a great view

Our tour guide for a recent company outing was Josh. He was amazing, Knowledgeable about everything and willing to share. Our group asked a lot of questions and he answered every one of them. He even brought a bunch of equipment (telescopes) etc so that we could see the animals up close. We are a group of people in the tour industry and hard to please at times and Josh blew us away. I wish I could find a guide like this everywhere I go.

Fantastic tour of YNPs lower loop. Very comfie big biodiesel van, and most of all, Jamie, our guide, rocked. A microbiologist and former GTNP ranger, she knew all kind of interesting details and was very personable. There were 7 guests plus the guide, which is a very nice size group. We even got lucky and saw wolves in the Hayden valley. Cannot recommend this enough. Finish the day inspired and awed, not wrecked from all the driving. Go to YNP with EcoTours!

Just go! Taylor and his crew run a first class operation, the way a business should be run. Taylor’s enthusiasm was truly contagious adding to our amazing day.

Great experience! Colin was our guide and he showed great knowledge and courtesy throughout our full-​day tour of the Yellowstone. We woke up late and Colin had to wait 30mins for us at the hotel pickup. We felt very bad but he still greeted us warmly as if nothing has happened. The vehicle was new, roomy and clean. The roof hatch was fun to watch animals with. They carry snacks, coffee and water in the trunk. Colin explained animals, geology, history in details, but still allowed us quiet times in the car to just enjoy the scenery. Was impressed they have binoculars, maps, animal photos and magazines in the car for further references. Very educational, professional and fun. Highly recommend!

Great tour! Only having a day to see the Tetons, we knew we couldn’t do it alone. So after reading the other reviews, we booked a ½ day trip in the morning (morning is always better for animal spotting). We went out with Kristin. She started by asking us what we wanted to see — this gave her a sense of whether to cover a lot of ground or to stop and watch the animals more. She did a great job of taking us to all the hot spots. She also gave us a great history of the area.

Our EcoTour was a highlight of our Wyoming vacation. Kristen took our family (me, husband, 9 yr old and 7 yr old) on a fun and memorable sunset tour of Grand Teton National Park.
A former teacher, Kristen was incredibly knowledgable. She kept both adults and kids interested and engaged for a full 4 hours. I was worried the kids might lose interest at this late hour but we could have easily stayed longer!
Kristen asked what we wanted to see and did a great job of fulfilling our wish list. We saw moose, elk, pronghorn, a fledgling owl, bison, and learned a ton about the ecology and history of the area.
The high powered scope was fantastic, giving views as if you are standing right next to the wildlife. Kristen showed us how to take photos through the scope, and we took away some amazing shots.
This is not an inexpensive outing, but it was totally worth it. We’ll definitely do it again if we return to the area.

We went on a sunset tour with Colin.
There were 4 of us in my party, and we were all very impressed with EcoTours and Colin.
Before we got into the SUV, Colin asked us of our expectations of the tour, and what we would like to see. I really appreciated that, because it shows that the guide is there for you, not for themselves.
Ecotours included some really high quality and very yummie organic snacks and also a metal water bottle which was ours to keep. An excellent touch, and a pleasant surprise.
On our tour we saw owls, grizzlys, elk, mule deer, pronged horn deer, and some bison very close up. We saw more animals during this 4 hour tour of the Grand Tetons then we saw in all of yellowstone the next day, which we spent 12 hours plus driving around (without a tour guide).
I’m so glad we did this tour with EcoTours and very highly recommend them.

Fabulous. Outstanding. Incredible. The memories we made on this adventure will last a lifetime.

We just returned from our trip out West and one of the highlights was our tour of the Grand Tetons with Taylor. (Trip date 7÷30÷11). Taylor was extremely knowledgable about the geology and ecology of the area and truly helped us understand what we were looking at. He truly knew where to take us to see all the wildlife we wanted to see — bears, moose, elk, bald eagles, pelicans, buffalo, and deer. We even went swimming! The binoculars he provided were amazing and allowed all of us to see everything. Between the copious outside adventure, the best bison jerky and granola bars ever (per the children), I could not recommend this tour any more highly. Taylor was fantastic, the kids loved him, and we had a great day! And even more amazing, we were able to use the information Taylor gave us to keep seeing great things in the Tetons and in Yellowstone later in our trip.

We just returned from our adventure and a perfect day with EcoTours. It was the very first day pf the new year (1÷1÷2011) and Gwen was our naturalist guide. She came into town in Jackson in her biodeisel vehicle to pick us up at our lodging. She was warm, gracious, knowledgeable and fun. Today was a very cold winter’s day. Gwen was well stocked with locally made food treats and hot beverages. The transport vehicle is comfortable and warm and we all hopped out together to scan the horizon (with tour issued binocs) for wildlife, and to look at the snow for critter tracks in hopes that we might see local wildlife. Today was a jackpot day for us, in that we saw moose, elk, sage grouse, bighorn sheep, whitetail deer, coyote, buffalo, a porcupine and trumpeter swan. A dazzling day to be sure! We have been in Jackson for nearly a week, and the Teton peaks have hidden from view by day, but today, they decided to reveal themselves in all their glory! Of course, a tour operator, even one as sound as EcoTour Adventures, cannot order up perfect windless weather and exhilarating appearances by species of local wildlife. Gwen knew to take us to places where the likelihood was great that we would see the animals. She was also fascinating in her knowledge of geology specific to the area, in her knowledge of regional history and wildlife. The price for our half day/​four hour tour was WELL worth the money! You can go to the Visitor Center at the Elk Preserve for a sleigh ride with the masses, but why not spend a little extra for a concentrated amount of time with a nature guide, and the 5 of you (or the two of you) can travel about the national park and the preserve on a stealth mission to learn more about the land, its history and the native wildlife. This excursion made our trip! We came to ski at Jackson Hole. This day was the icing on the cake! Thank you Gwen and Taylor. A portion of your tour fee is dedicated to locally specific organizations who are working hard to preserve Jackson’s natural habitat or to fund wildlife pertinent research; Taylor or your guide explain more on your trip. Here is a small, locally owned business that you can feel REALLY good about. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn about native wildlife, regional history and geology and to have a blast with a fun knowledgeable guide. As good as it gets!
