My fiancée and I stopped by here for breakfast on our way back home to Oklahoma. Very cute and quaint place. The service was very prompt and kind and the food was even better! Very generous portions for the price. The Bayou Sandwich with raisin toast was very tasty as are the waffles. We will definitely be stopping by again!

the wheat toast was great here! seriously, maybe they bake it themselves or maybe just in comparison to the cold, odd tasting biscuit and gravy it replaced, it was exceptionally good. regardless, I’d definitely go back for a piece of toast. wouldnt recommend anything else I ordered though. especially that biscuit and gravy. it was so strange tasting… how do you screw up gravy that’s obviously from a powder mix???

My wife and I ate lunch here. I had the chicken fried steak and she had the cheeseburger. I have to say that mine was one if the best meals I have had in a long time. the chicken steak was crispy and the gravy, on the side, was a good consistency. 5 stars for mine. My wife’s burger was huge. she ate it all. She also gave it 5 stars. We liked it so much we decided to come for breakfast the next morning. I got the breakfast sandwich on raisin toast which was good but small especially for $ 7. My wife faired better with her crescent sandwich. Breakfast was 3 stars. We might try dinner if we stay in town longer.

Very small portions ordered fried catfish and received 1 small piece asked the server if you only get 1 piece and she said yes. Very disappointing for the price. Would not recommend.

Really good food, really good! Hand made chips, tasty chicken fried steaks, good burgers, even good coffee.(rare these days) service is good. The restaurant looks ok. I might recommend a remodel of some of the seats and carpet etc, bi overall it’s ok. With all the old antiques in the city they could really wow you with the interior, however they did wow me with the food! The new logo is great! Really one of the very best places to eat in Jefferson. I will be back!

It was the only ‘local’(not franchise breakfast place) open for breakfast in the picturesque part of downtown. I was expecting a little more from menu: eggs, bacon(not high quality, a little overlooked) hash browns(a bit over cooked too) and bland room temperature biscuit. My husband had the cinnamon bread French toast, but even that was mediocre. I wish they would at least have had some interesting syrup, nope-just some boring high fructose stuff. I wouldn’t go again, but overall I’m glad I gave it a try.

Great food for the price! Service staff was fantastic and friendly. Food was excellent. Typical American fare, but good. Best omelet I’ve had in a long time.

The muffins, bear claws and Danish we picked up from the counter for breakfast were very good. We made the mistake to return for lunch. Sat down and ordered and waited for 35 minutes. Other tables were getting their meals haphazardly(table of 6 got 3 meals, then 5 minutes later another one, etc.) Then a table who arrived at least 10 minutes after us got their meal, so we asked our waitress to check on ours… it had not been started. We canceled and went to another place nearby. Of note, the wait staff were very nice and apologetic. I think the kitchen needs some training.

it’s your typical American diner breakfast. Coffee was pretty sad, but then again there aren’t any gourmet coffee places around town if that’s what you’re looking for. We also tried a pastry from the case and it was pretty tasty. One of the few places in town to get breakfast if the place you’re staying isn’t a B&B, so go ahead and stop in– you might not be blown away, but you won’t be disappointed either.

I had the breakfast scramble and it was really good. I thought it was supposed to come with sausage, bacon and ham, but apparently it is just one meat. The waitress was clear that she didn’t normally wait tables, but she assumed I wanted sausage and I didn’t realize it only came with one meat until it was served. Had I been asked I would’ve ordered bacon or ham. Having said that, the sausage was absolutely wonderful. I ordered a side of wheat toast with my breakfast and it was some of the best bread I’ve had in a while. I was a little disappointed in the selection of bakery products. They had several loaves of bread, but they were not labeled, and there was no one at the counter to answer questions. They were very busy, and tables were filled as soon as they were emptied. Overall I highly recommend the Bayou Bakery. I was there for Mardi Gras weekend and the staff was doing their best to keep up. I would love to see what they can do when Jefferson is not so crowded.

If you are in Jefferson tx don’t leave without eating here! The service is great and the food is great! We had breakfast but I really wanted to go back for lunch. I recommend the breakfast scrambler!!! They also have great baked goods available to buy!
