So we went on the Sunset tour with Captain Phillip. Now I don’t support tours of any aquatic type if they feed the animals to create unnatural feeding tendencies. Now, Captain Phillip was not feeding them at all(Yay!), and actually the shrimping boat that we ended up by wasn’t actually feeding the dolphins, but instead were casting off the by-catch that was not shrimp and the dolphins were smart enough to know to stay around there. I really enjoyed this tour because they were knowledgeable about the history of the island and were able to get a dead shark and sting ray from the by-catch on the shrimp boat and do a show and tell styled educational section. The best thing about this tour was that we weren’t confined to our seats for the entire tour, in my opinion, sit in the very front for fast access to the deck of the boat, or the very back so as to have the entire back area to flip back and forth between. We saw many dolphins, some of which were within five feet of the boat. It was a great tour for the money!

We went on their dolphin tour and had a wheelchair in our party. I heard they were handicap accessible, but really, no they were not. Nothing is more disappointing than arriving at a place of business that is not prepared. You feel unwanted and unwelcome. However(and this is a big U-Turn), what they lacked in forethought, they made up for in braun! The efforts they made got our wheel chair down the bumpy ramp and lifted over the steps and into the boat. Everyone was so nice! The tour was amazing, too. The Captain was very knowledgeable about Dolphins and the surrounding areas. He was a great narrator. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves immensely. I’d love to give it five stars, but until they make changes, I can not. Businesses who aren’t handicap friendly really need to get on board(pun intended!); if not they can be sued. Good thing we’re not litigious people. And it’s not difficult to make these changes. I was just on a dolphin tour in California that was 100% wheelchair friendly, so it is possible. It was a great time, please go! Just beware if you need accessibility.

This review is for Captain Phillip’s Charters & Tours. We went on a tour. Showed up at 1:10 for the 1:30 Dolphin tour. We boarded a little before 1:30 and then waited till 2:00 for some late comers who were driving onto the island. We motored around the island. We saw a lot of dolphin fins and seagulls. We saw some more beaches, and from the water side. I was underwhelmed, and began drafting a one star review. And then they brought out a net and started collecting brackish river creatures for show and share. My dad and daughter helped to haul the net back aboard the boat. Why they don’t do this every trip, I couldn’t tell you. We got the extra show because of the late comers and the lack of anything exciting. There were crabs, shrimp, strange fish, and more. The river life was handed out to the kids, and the kids paraded around the boat.
