Edward Tjoe, DPM

Dr. Tjoe (pronounced like Joe) has excellent bedside manner and listens to your foot needs and concerns. Most definitely the most caring physician I have seen thus far.
I had an infection in my big toe and had to have my toe nail removed. He took the time to thoroughly explain what he was doing and made sure I was okay every step of the way. He also gave me water in a Star Wars mug when I told him I didn’t have anything to drink or eat the morning of my appointment.

I’ve seen Dr. Tjoe twice now and I find him to be incredibly focused on doing whats needed! By far the shortest wait I’ve had at a dr’s office in a long time! That being said when he was about to be late to see me he popped his head out and told me he was running a little behind but he’d be with me shortly. And he was. Something I’ve learned about Dr.‘s are the ones you have to wait a lot of time for means that they are working with their patients until they’ve got a solution/​treatment for whatever their visit is for (of course some just overbook to make money, Dr. Tjoe is NOT one of these). He’s not a «you have 10 mins to tell me your issue and another 5 for me to diagnose.» Your appointment will be for as long as it needs to be so he can treat you properly. I think its great. So why only 4 stars??? 5 is perfection to me and nobody is perfect. Dr. Tjoe is pretty close…

This was my first time at Dr. Tjoe’s office, and my second time having a painful ingrown toenail removed. I was able to get an appointment the day after I called and did not wait at all to be seen. Dr. Tjoe was very thorough in going through my medical background and the history of my problematic toe. I knew going in that I would need injections in my toe to numb it. I have had it done before and I hate it more than the pain of childbirth. The doctor was extremely patient with me and had the office manager come in to sit with me during the injections. Be forewarned that if you visit Dr. Tjoe within the next several weeks, the poor office manager could quite possibly be in casts from how hard I squeezed his hands. Once I was numb, Dr. Tjoe leaned my chair back so I wouldn’t see anything. He waited until I had my headphones in so that I wouldn’t have to hear anything. The procedure was quick and he kept stopping to ask me if I was ok. Once it was over, he explained the after care and patiently answered my questions about resuming normal activities. I cannot recommend this office and doctor enough! The after-​work hours are a huge bonus as well. I know this procedure is common and no big deal to podiatrists, but he didn’t rush through the explanations or treat me like a child just because I was a nervous patient. I highly recommend him.

I have to say not only was I upset at the lack if professionalism that was displayed at the office (ie waiting over an hour to be seen when I was the first patient, was told I could keep a bloody ice pack if I wanted to clean it off and was told he «preferred debt» when I pulled out my credit card) but the Dr kept reading the directions on how to drain the blood under my toe from a kit he was using. I would not recommend this dr but if you are looking for someone Dr. Patel in Hoboken is amazing and I went to him and he was awesome and very knowledgeable.

Very patient, attentive, and meticulous. After one visit my foot pain was greatly reduced after 24 hours. Highly recommended.

This was my frist experience at a podiatrist and it defintiely was a positive one. Fortunately I was able to get an appointment on fairly short notice. I felt like Dr. Tjoe took his time, was knowledgaable and explained what he was doing during the examination which made me feel at ease and not rushed.
