Bloom Hair Studio

I loved this place, and had a great time talking to Michelle when I went in. I drove by recently and the place is closed, with the sign painted over. Anybody know if they moved or what happened?

I am new to the area just moved to Joshua tree. I read the reviews here on Unilocal about hair salons I chose bloom I spoke with Michelle I was in desperate need of a cut and a weave. Wow ! She picked out the perfect combo of colors for me!!! I LOVED what she did and a great cut too! A very pleasant experience and Michelle is a hoot! You will LOVE her. Great stylist! When she shampoos you she even gives you a foot rest for your feet and a head massage! Awesome lady and very reasonable prices! I have a new stylist for sure ! Michelle knows a lot about where to go and what to do here in high desert. I found a good dog groomer and a great dentist while there. Want to know about something or somewhere here in the high desert go to the Bloom hair salon.

I have only had one cut here, but I have to give big ups to Emily! She went out of her way to give me a cut in the evening because I was leaving town the following morning. She made tea, listened to my specific requests about how my cut usually looks, and kept me in good spirits. After all was said and done, I left with a fantastic cut and style that cost far less what I pay in LA and Seattle at high end salons. Thanks, Emily!

I found this little gem while I was staying in the desert for several months. Since I have curly hair, finding a hair stylist isn’t always easy. After reading reviews I decided to give this little place a shot. It was better than I could have imagined.
Located on the north side on a corner adjacent to 29 Palms Highway, it is super close to the central district of Joshua Tree (if you can call it that, such a small place).
Access to the parking log is through an entry on the side street. Entry to the building near the highway. The place is always hopping and clients gather or strop by to chat.
It is a pretty friendly, down-​to-​earth place. Clean and uncluttered, there are seating areas to wait but mostly the people sitting there are visiting. The scheduling is great and I have not had to wait at all.
Bloom Studio features two shampoo stations and a couple of styling stations and although they provide a full range of services, including guest beauticians for special services, my stop was for a simple cut. They also have some product for sale and samples if you want to try something different.
Michelle gave me a quick clip that everyone commented on – as in it was fabulous. In fact, the last time I was in the area I stopped by to have her cut it again – and am now heading back that way for a third cut.
It is a fairly long drive from here (1.5 hours) if you want to use that as a gauge to how good I think the service and pricing was.
Although phone callbacks are not the strongest, just be diligent. Or try what I did, drop by in person to book your appointment.
Staying at the National Park? It isn’t too far from the JT Visitors Center.
My take is that if you want a great cut at a great price, give them a try. I think you’ll be pleased.

Went and got my hair done today after reading the reviews on Unilocal,and I was so pleased. Michelle not only did an amazing job on my hair, but I was so comfortable. I have never been so pleased with my experience at a hair salon! Thank you Michelle!

I saw the reviews on Unilocal and thought I would take a chance… I have very curly hair and extremely gray hair as well. My roots were horrifying. I called to make an appointment and Michelle was super sweet. I could not believe the price and the incredible service… this is my new hair place… I am very happy I found it. Mahalo Michelle

this place is great. jana cut my hair both times i’ve been here, i think she’s the owner. she’s put a lot nice touches into the décor. the haircut is super affordable and she does exactly what you ask her to.

Was very very pleasantly surprised by everything! What used to be a salon for the elderly, the owner of Blooms has taken the building and really done nice work! Good décor, and best of all, GREAT cut and prices! Now I don’t have to consider leaving the high desert for cuts any more. Thanks!

I came here because its nearby where I live and I thought, «what the heck I’ll try it out!». I’m glad I did!
It’s a small 2 chair salon but it’s super cute inside. I had the pleasure of having Michelle cut my hair. She was great at communicating what she was going to do, she listened to what I wanted and didn’t want and followed that exactly. I love my haircut! It’s probably one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. I’m also a hairstylist so I always have a hard time finding someone I like but I loved her! This is where I will be getting my hair done from now on!
