Flux Adventures

I had a fantastic day rock climbing in Joshua Tree National Park with Felipe from Flux Adventures. Felipe was enthusiastic about taking me climbing and took the time to explain new skills to me. I felt safe at all times and I really valued Felipe’s extensive knowledge about climbing. Felipe was a fantastic guide who was a great conversationalist. He was good at judging my skill level and choosing appropriate climbs for me to try. I would highly recommend Flux Adventures to anyone who is interested in a fun day out!

Three of us climbed with Felipe for two days in Joshua Tree and had a blast! We’re primarily sport and gym climbers so we needed help navigating Joshua Trees hardcore trad routes. He did a great job setting top ropes and leading routes that matched our skill level; including a multi-​pitch. I think we got a lot more out of our time having Felipe guide is to the goods. Lunch was included which was super convenient too!

Felipe aka Flux Adventures is a treasure. He guided our family (15-​year-​old son, 10-​year-​old daughter) on a day trip in Joshua Tree, and delivered a memorable day. We felt safe throughout, even as he encouraged us to climb past our comfort zones («It’s how you get better!,» he said.) Felipe is generous with his expertise, encouragement, stories, cookies… really the best. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

I learned so much!!! Felipe is a great, patient, and generous instructor. I can’t praise him enough.

Just had a great day in Joshua Tree learning about setting protection from Felipe. Totally lovely person and a great teacher. We hadn’t planned ahead and had to work out a plan with him through a series of missed calls due to limited service in the park but he kept trying to reach us until it worked and adapted his schedule to fit us in and offered to bring whatever equipment we needed, totally professional. My climbing partner was more familiar with trad climbing skills but she was surprised to learn a ton from him too. I would recommend him for beginners as he’s very patient but also for advanced climbers that want to get better fast and avoid learning bad habits from your friend’s brother’s roommate who mostly climbs at the indoor gym. We ran into Felipe the next day too and he insisted that we hop on a route he had just set up, happy to share the love even on his day off :)

Outstanding!!! Felipe guided me and my boyfriend on a half day climb at joshua tree national park. We both have experience climbing indoors but less outside. Felipe is very skilled and knowledgeable. He was super attentive and made us feel really comforntable climbing with him but it was certianly an adventure we wont forget. In short he was an amazing guide and I would definitely recommend him to climbers of all levels.

I can’t even count the number of times our little group of new climbers said that refrain during our day of rock climbing at Joshua Tree with Felipe. from our very first contact to the end of our day, everything was handled in a very professional, safe and courteous manner by Flux Adventures.
Felipe’s encouragement and positive attitude had us all climbing rocks we thought were impossible at the beginning of the day. After my wife’s first ever rappel, she exclaimed, «That is one of the coolest things I have ever done in my life!»
And we’re done some pretty cool things.
This day with Felipe has when our appetite for more climbing, and I am certain we will be hiring Flux Adventures to guide us for all our climbing adventures.

I did a father/​son climbing trip with my 16 year old son. We had never done multi-​pitched routes before so we were a little anxious. Felipe was perfect. He took us to our limits but not beyond. His personality made everything fun. He was patient and kept us laughing. We are are already planning our next trip with him. The climbs were great, but Felipe was the best part of the trip.

I am a novice climber, let me re-​phrase that. I have never climbed before. Being a first timer, our guide Felipe was extremely patient and understanding with my lack of climbing knowledge. Felipe was great and without him I would have made it to the top. It was an absolute rush the feeling I got from climbing the tower. Thanks again Felipe!!!

My climbing partner and I just spent the weekend with Felipe on Devil’s Tower in WY. We climbed for two days with Felipe and I know without him as our guide we wouldn’t have had as magical of a experience. Not only is Felipe as fun guy to be around, he’s encouraging and knows multi-​pitch trad climbing. I never felt unsafe in his care. His skill and expertise allowed us to have a carefree climb to the summit of Devil’s Tower.
My climbing partner and I are already planning a trip to Joshua Tree to climb with Felipe again next year. Can’t wait.

My wife and I spent a day with Felipe climbing. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Joshua Tree. He took us to some great climbs that were challenging for us and taught us how to climb on the granite in the park, which is very different from where we have climbed in the past. «Trust your feet!» was the refrain of the day as many of the climbs had few handholds and our feet did hold us.
Bring shoes you can climb in for hours because he will provide you with as much climbing as you can handle.
We would highly recommend Felipe as a guide to an adventure you will truly enjoy.

What a wonderful way to experience Joshua Tree! From the first email, Felipe was very attentive and thorough. We booked a day of rock climbing. In advance, Felipe made sure that he knew what we wanted to get out of the day, and that we knew what we needed to bring.
We were supposed to meet at 9 AM. We got to the meeting spot about 10 minutes early, and Felipe was already there. We continued on to another climbing spot, and got ready!
This was our first time climbing outdoors, and Felipe had a bunch of tricks and tips for us, and planned a day that included everything we were looking for (cracks, overhangs, bouldering, and learning how to set toprope anchors). We went to four different sites over the course of the day — which lasted until almost 6:30. He wasn’t kidding when he said we could climb with him until we were too tired to do any more!
Felipe’s easy manner and encouraging attitude made climbing with him a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend him if you’re looking to get out and do some special climbs in Joshua Tree.
