Can’t thank Aron enough for such an incredible rock climbing experience this past weekend! My boyfriend is afraid of heights and Aron coached him throughout and made him feel safe, comfortable and forget about his fear! He did it, and he wants to do it again! I had experienced rock climbing before, but will say the service I received from Annie at time of booking from Aron as a guide, I rate them at a 10! Top customer service, reliable, professional and extremely passionate about what they do! This will be a birthday gift my boyfriend will never forget! Thank you very much! Can’t wait to come again!

Stone Adventures came highly recommended to me when I was looking for someone to teach me how to photograph climbers. I could not be happier with the experience. We met Aron in the park at 8 am and had a day filled with learning all about building protection, positioning, and shooting. Aside from everything we learned, it was awesome just to talk with Aron and pick his brain over different scenarios. Both he and Annie are really kind, professional and very experienced.
I will totally recommend Stone Adventures to anyone I know looking to learn about climbing and I will absolutely hire them again.

I had great experience with Annie from Stone Adventures at Joshua Tree: our group was looking for private instructor to learn the basics on setting up top ropes outdoor and Annie was the right one :) I’ve started with calling Stone Adventures office and booking private tour, we’ve got discount for Sender One membership, and Annie sent me email with details for upcoming adventure. She also answered all questions I’ve had about equipment, tour itself and even provided us with advises on weather and where to get a camp spot for the night.
Annie is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful instructor. She customized our tour so we could get more of it and focused on the areas we were interested in. We not only got a chance to learn theory, but set up the routes by ourselves under Annie’s guidance, and climbed few routes set up by her. All climbing equipment was provided and included in the price of the tour. It was a great fun and also very good learning experience.
Annie also knows a lot about the desert, she showed us various plants and told about interesting places at the park. If you want to improve your climbing skills or looking for a guide to see real Joshua Tree, Annie is the best!

Went out for a day with my daughter. Annie was our guide and she was fabulous. First of all, we had a great time climbing. And she took us to some locations I was not previously aware of. Secondly, she taught us a lot about safety and set up and really made the day worthwhile. Just a fabulous experience. I would highly recommend them.

Our family climbs every spring break. Was referred to them by another climbing outfit who was booked up. Annie organized the climb with Aaron as our guide. They provided a super easy going and supportive experience. Very knowledgable and most of all, fun! Highly recommend.

I had a day to burn in L.A.
Instead, I decided to drive out to Jtree at 6 a.m. to get out to the desert for that day. As I approached the park, I thought, it’d be dumb to come this far and not climb, and I really didn’t want to just boulder, and I had no partner to climb with.
So I called Stone Adventures, and they squeezed me in at the last minute. I climbed that day and still made it back to L.A. by 7 p.m.
Annie made me feel safe to try harder stuff. She was kind, warm, and so encouraging. Aron was nearby, belaying a father and daughter. Both of these people have a lovely, easy-​going, fun presence.
Annie was completely prompt, thorough, and a good listener re. what I wanted to do and how she could make it happen. She patiently waited for me to retry the 5.10d crack over and again — that I never completed and was probably a bit out of my range — and celebrated with me when I finished a tough piece of slab. By the time I had to leave, I was already contemplating how soon I could get back to the park to climb again. I’m still thinking about it, a week later.
Highly recommended!

I talked to 7 – 8 major rock climbing companies around Joshua Tree and we decided to go with Stone Adventures for several reasons:
— Aaron and Annie are really nice, this seems to be a small company focused on giving their customers a good and safe time rock climbing.
— I asked Aron what makes their company different than the others — he said they’re focused on getting good service and getting the most climbs.
— They gave us a discount for a private half-​day trip, $ 100 down from $ 115. They were able to do this as we were going on a weekday. (This is on the more affordable end of the companies I called. There was a cheaper one, but I just got a good vibe from talking to Aron and Annie.)
Here is where they are similar to most companies:
— Flexible on climbing site, and they can meet you at your campsite which is awesome.
— Half day is marketed at 4 hours, but they usually spend 4 – 5 hours with you.
— Rental equipment is included in the cost.
We loved our experience with Aaron because:
— He was prompt — arrived at 7:55am, 5 minutes early, right at our campsite.
— He was a great teacher and really patient with us. We had varying levels of experiences.
— I asked if I could scramble to the top with him to learn a little bit about the anchor set up and he was really nice about that.
— Despite our group probably taking longer than others (we’re pretty chatty, plus figuring out everyone’s gear and me wanting to see the anchor set up with Aron), we each still got 4 climbs in. I got a 5^th one in at the end, and this was almost at 1pm when we’d been with him for 5 hours!
— Even after 1pm, we wanted group pictures and Aron hung out with us to be in our shot and also to take some photos and videos with us. I think he left well after 1:30pm.
Thanks for a great day, Aron! We had a blast. I will highly recommend your company to anyone coming to J-​Tree in the future.

We had such an amazing experience in Joshua Tree with Aron of Stone Adventures. He is so knowledgable about climbing and so willing to share as much information as he can with you to help you be a better climber and have a great experience climbing outdoors. He has worked as a teacher and it shows. We felt very safe with him guiding us and loved how encouraging he was. He will cheer for you at at the perfect times and help you with climbing techniques to get you up the rock! We completely loved this whole experience and would recommend Stone Adventures to anyone wanting to climb outdoors or to learn more about climbing.

Best experience ever. I was very apprehensive to go on this tour, it was booked through friends. Turns out to be the best time ever for me. Stone Adventure tour guides were very professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them for your next (or even your very first) rock climbing/​tour guide adventure.

An Outstanding Adventure! I would totally recommend Stone Adventures to anyone. It was a first time climbing experience for me, so I really didn’t know what to expect. Was immediately put at ease by my guides Annie and Aron, with their professionalism, encouragement and dedication to safety. Their knowledge of Joshua Tree National Park is beyond compare. They took us on a guided Nature Walk after the climb, describing all the plants and animals we saw, including and endangered desert tortoise. This was an awesome experience I will never forget!

We had the best time with our guide, Annie, climbing in Joshua Tree. My girlfriend and I had both climbed a bunch indoors, but had never climbed outside before, and doing a guided day with Stone Adventures was the perfect first experience!
Annie has tons of experience and made us feel really comfortable and safe up on the rock. We did a half day, and it was an amazing experience. She warmed us up on some really fun easier routes to get us started, and then helped us push ourselves on some more challenging ones.
Using Stone Adventures was super easy. We met our guide in the parking lot, where they have a super easy to spot van, and from there we followed her to one of the many great climbing areas in Joshua Tree.
Annie was super cool, and fun to hang out with all day and I would gladly go on another adventure with Stone Adventures. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get a great experience with a very well trained guide who knows how to make it fun for everyone!

Exceptional customer service from the very beginning. I contacted about 4 climbing companies in the area via email regarding a desire to go climbing in JTree. Stone Adventures was the first to contact me. From the very beginning I felt very that Aron was both knowledgeable and committed to make sure we had a safe experience tailor made for our skill level and interest. Communication before our trip was great and Aron was open to suggestions about areas of the park and types of climbs we were interested.
On the day of our trip we were early to the meet up point and so was Aron which I truly respect in a company. He was ready to take us out straight away and stay out basically until we were satisfied. Aron put us on a great variety of climbs and encouraged us to try everything. He was great at suggesting moves and techniques and ensured that we would be successful. Aron was also very patient and extremely encouraging.
We left feeling like complete rock stars as every success on the climb was celebrated with encouragement and a big high five when you arrived safely back on the ground. Aron was also a great belay. I completely trusted that my safety was his primary concern.
I couldn’t recommend Stone Adventures strongly enough and I am really looking forward to the opportunity to get back on the rock with them again.

I had experience many years ago in High school for beginner rock climbing Wall. I never rock climbed outdoors before and Annie and Arron made sure that I had an amazing time. They gave me advises and encouraged me to go further up! I am sure I will be sore tomorrow but I had a great time and definitely recommend them!

What a great day! We spent ¾ day with Aron in Joshua Tree and we are ready to book it again. Aron was so fun to hang out with and made the whole family feel like old friends. His stories were great and match his experience. It will be one of the best experiences if you go with these guys!

Had a great time climbing in Joshua Tree today with awesome guide Aron! I have an 8 and 9 year old and he was great with teaching them to tie knots and how to get up the trickier climbs. We had a wonderful experience in a breathtaking setting! Would recommend Stone Adventures for sure!

Aron was our instructor/​guide with Climb Smart, a climbing clinic hosted by the Friends of Joshua Tree. He taught a variety of clinics, each one was interesting, informative and fun. He was also responsible for setting ropes and our safety. We felt completely comfortable with Aron’s abilities for ourselves and our son. When we return to Joshua Tree we will hire Stone Adventures and request Aron.

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with both guides Aron and Annie from Stone Adventures during the Climb Smart 2015 festival in Joshua Tree National Park.
Out of all of the guides that I worked with throughout the weekend, Aron and Annie were easily the most passionate about teaching their art and sharing from their vast knowledge and climbing experiences. I felt very safe with them as my instructors. Not to mention, they were great to just hang out with as well.
The clinic I had with them focused on everything and anything to do with knots. I was taught a plethora of different knots, hitches, and theory of how, when, and why they work. Both guides presented these teachings in extremely approachable, and easy to follow instruction for myself, and the other attendee’s. Through practice during the clinic, I felt like I left with a strong understanding of all of the information that was provided to me.
I will definitely be pursuing future guiding services through Stone Adventures, whether it be in Joshua Tree, or other parks. I want to further my exposure with anchors, pro placement, and eventually leading trad. Now that I know what to expect, I’d feel very confident learning any of these things with the experienced guides from Stone Adventures.
I had a seriously awesome time, and can’t wait to get back out there!
