Cathy’s Candy

Much smaller than I anticipated. The brownie I got was okay, but not the best. The staff were very nice and friendly. I expected to find something more like Rocky Mountain Choclatier, but this is just a very small nook next to an art gallery with only very few selections of chocolate. No unique or fancy treats, just your basic chocolate turtle, chocolate pretzel or square.
The lake is gorgous though, and I would definately stop back into Cathy’s Candy for a treat while out near the lake.
What they offer is great, it’s just a limited selection.

Great homemade chocolate. Really friendly proprietor. Gave us great advice on ears and sights to see.

Nice selection of candy and ice –cream but what I really enjoyed were the eclectic nick nacks and christmas trees in the back.

Wow, Cathy’s Candy is our new all-​time favorite chocolate shop. The quality of the chocolate is perfect and her selection of candy is even better.

First I would like to apologize to Cathy, the owner. My hubby and I stayed at June lake last October. I promised to write review. Unfortunately, I am a procrastinator; sorry Cathy. I visited this wonderful candy haven twice, during our stay. Cathy is a real sweetheart, and I was truly like a kid in a candy store. The milk chocolate honeycomb is to die for… I actually had a lovely visit there joking with other customers. It was one of the highlights of my visit, and that of my kids, as I bought lots of goodies for them also. They were lucky I refrained from eating everything myself. Everything I purchased, rocky road, truffles, honeycomb was just amazing. I truly was in candy heaven. I hope to visit this beautiful area soon, and visit Cathy. Cathy I was the Brit. Thank you sooooooooo much xx I have tried candy in other areas, and nothing whatsoever compared to Cathy’s products. AWESOME!!!

The quality you get here is hard to beat. She can make a salted caramel that is delicious and it doesn’t even stick to your teeth. These treats are spectacular, to boot the owner is usually always there greeting you with a great attitude and great service.

Fantastic chocolates. Some of the best honeycomb I’ve ever had, and really delicious fudge. Not a lot on the straight up candy side that my son was hoping for, but a good ice cream cone made it all work out.

This place has some of the best ice cream with ever had! They advertise it as «Kathy’s Candy», but the ice cream was to die for. It’s right in downtown June Lake, and if you’re anywhere near the area stop in!

My all-​time favorite place to stop when coming through the loop. The candy itself is amazing and tastes great. My personal favorite is the almond/​pecan toffee. The chocolate is delicious, the staff is very kind and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Would recommend this place to anyone.

I love this adorable small town candy shop. It’s more like a chocolate shop, ice cream shop, Christmas store and a coffee house all in one.
The chocolate is really delicious. I had the dark chocolate almond cluster and it was so good I are it in like 4 bites (It’s huge). My boyfriend got some almond rocca. The pieces are nice and chunky. That also was gone in a few hours.
I wish there were a few more selections for truffles but oh well. What they have is yummy.
I also picked up a unique little Christmas ornament for $ 10.50 which I think is fair.
This is a great place to feed your sweet tooth!

I love Cathy’s candy it’s got so many options but alittle expensive

Cathy’s Candy stands tall. This was the site of my most spectacular tourist-​magnet purchase for Traci J. yet. June Lake! Who knew there were tourist magnets for places like June Lake? Well, there are, and Cathy’s Candy sells them. They also sell ice cream, and, well candy.
The ice cream is good, but most ice cream is good on a relatively hot summer day in the Eastern Sierras. There’s outdoor seating, complete with shade, and the woman working here was very nice and patient with my indecisive mother. OK, that’s not fair; my mother is anything but indecisive. Except when it comes to choosing ice-​cream flavors.
It might rate four stars just because of the pure joy it can induce, but I’m sticking with three because it doesn’t stand out. Standing tall and standing out are two separate things.

Good place to hang out. Really. They have seating outside and kids can enjoy variety of dessert like ice cream or chocolate or fudge.

Nice little shop. Friendly owner. But $ 22 a pound for this quality is way too much. The milk choc. covered cheesecake truffle was okay. The dark choc. covered chocolate truffle was awful. Not fresh. Grainy. No way that word should be used to describe chocolate. Especially for $ 22 a pound. See’s is much better.

«Every adversity you meet carries with it a seed of equivalent or greater benefit.» Today we were blown all over June Lake and finally conceded to the Wind Gods. Frustrated, we remembered driving by Cathy’s Candy a few days earlier and decided to soothe our wind-​chapped lips with some delectable sweets. We were immediately greeted by Cathy’s warm smile, equally warm welcome, and a swell sample of her almond toffee (comes in both milk or dark chocolate). One word, «DELICIOUS!» Grabbed a June Lake Campfire Treat (can you guess by the name that it is a s’more?), sat outside, and savored every bite of the marshmallow, graham cracker, and almond treat smothered in dark chocolate with a yummy caramel base. Had some mint ‘n chip ice cream, too, and saved the Peanut Butter Boulder for later. Yum-​YUM!
Cool little gift shop, too. PIcked up a Cathy’s Candy/​June Lake Xmas ornament for my sis.
Don’t miss Cathy’s or you’ll be passing on a very special place nestled in the June Lake loop. We’ll definitely make this an annual stop on our annual fishing trip to Mammoth!

Wow. I have been coming to the Eastern Sierras for the past 35 years and this is the best candy I’ve had here and just about anywhere. The almond toffee is a rare find. Great flavor with an airy crunch that matches perfectly with the dark chocolate layers. The chocolate caramels are also excellent with a rich, fresh caramel center and superb dark chocolate coating. Candy from Cathys moves to the top of the list of reasons to keep coming back to the Eastern Sierras.

Whoa! So there is some kind of homemade almond roca they make fresh at Cathy’s candy that is to die for! I don’t know what they call it, but it’s worth going to June Lake for. We always stop in after a big breakfast at the Sliver Lake Café.

We were driving the June Loop while on our vacation in Mammoth. We stopped here and we are glad we did. It’s a cute little store with homemade treats/​candy and an ice cream counter. One of the biggest positives about this store was Cathy. Very nice and quick to offer me a sample of toffee. Let me just say… Wow– her toffee is awesome! I immediately had to buy a bunch of it (great sales technique Cathy :)) I love small family businesses like this! It was a nice small stop on a beautiful road trip in the June Lake area.

Every Opening Day Trout season the girls go to town and indulge in some Cathy’s Candy. Her shop is so sweet! Almost any candy you can think of and the store is dressed for Christmas year round.
She has candy, Chocolate candy, Toffee and Ice Cream!
