History

Established in 2013.

Dr. Sonny J.H. Wong, M.D., F.A.C.C. is the founder of The Windward Medispa & Vein Center, one of only a few centers on Oahu that specializes in the treatment of vein disorders and the only Vein Center on the Windward side of the island.

The Medispa started initially as the existing patients from our Vein Center began requesting other services such as laser hair removal. Once added, further demands from new clients for other services lead to the conception of the Medispa & Vein Center with its current range of aesthetic procedures.

Business Owner

Dr. Wong has extensive clinical experience having been in practice for over 27 years. He is a board certified cardiovascular specialist and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. In addition to running his busy medical practice he is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Hawaii’s Medical School.

He gained further experience in the treatment of venous disorders from Dr. Ron Bush of the Midwest Vein and Laser Center, one of the world’s leading authorities in this area. He is also a member of Vein​Ex​perts​.org an organization founded by Dr. Bush to teach and inform the medical and general community about treatments available for venous disorders.

Dr. Wong has assembled a highly experienced staff of nurses and medical personnel that have over a hundred years of patient care experience. The Windward Medispa &Vein Center has state of the art equipment to rapidly diagnosis and treat vein conditions.

I have been a client of Windward Medispa for almost a year and am extremely pleased with all aspects of their services. Most importantly, everyone makes you feel welcomed and valued. Robin, oh Robin, I just can’t say enough about Robin. She is caring, gentle, friendly, sweet, funny, and very knowledgeable of all services offered by Windward Medispa. I recommend everyone view their menu of services and try at least one, but you will find that you will want to try a lot more.

Amazing staff and immaculate office space. I purchased a Groupon for laser hair removal treatments. For the past couple of months I have been going to Robin for my treatments. She is always professional, honest, and just an overall lovely person. I have been extremely satisfied with my results & would 100% recommend Windward Medispa to anyone!

I’ve been coming to Windward Medispa now for a few months to continue laser hair removal I started on the mainland. Robin is great! She makes you feel comfortable, talks to you like a friend, and remembers you and your conversations. She makes the process simple, relaxed and as painless as it can be! Definitely recommend them for hair removal treatment!
If you have never tried it, you’ll love the results you see after just a few times. Waxing is more of an investment over time because you have to do it more often, and it’s also worse for your skin as it causes more ingrowns. Give laser a shot… Here at windward Medispa… And you won’t regret it!

Robin provided good information, as I was a first timer to Laser Hair removal and I was there for Laser Hair Removal on the Nape (back of the neck). I really appreciate Robin being so thorough in explaining the procedure. Robin provided what may/​may not happen after this procedure and either way, I should call the office and inform her of the results. Robin was quite adamant in her caution that the procedure may not be effective. I am believing the procedure is effective and looking forward to my follow up appointment.
The office space is very clean and inviting. The staff members I encountered, displayed exceptional customer service. I really enjoyed my visit at Windward Medispa and will highly recommend their place/​services.

This review is for a laser tattoo removal.
First of all– Robin is amazing. Very sweet and helpful. She made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. She does facials too, though I haven’t gotten one I’d recommend her for those also.
Office/​space– clean, comfortable, and
the staff are very friendly and professional. Very easy to reschedule and they always call a day ahead to remind you of your appt. pretty standard now a days but still.
Service– no extra cost for anesthesia– topical or injectable. After doing both Id recommend the injectable for sure. Pain is manageable but if the option is there (at no additional cost) I say do it! i went somewhere in town before here and they used a q laser– I would not recommend that to anyone. I left bleeding had blistering that lasted a week and a half. This picosure laser is more mild, and though I just finished my 6th session with probably only 50% progress, I’m glad to say I haven’t had any scarring and my experience has been consistently pleasant.

I love Windward Medispa I have been to many medical spas in my life, but this one is my favorite. The machines they use are state-​of-​the-​art and the staff is wonderful. I have been going to see Robin for facials and hair removal for over a year and she is amazing.

Came here for my very first treatment for laser hair removal. Have no clue of what was going to happen or how the procedure will be. Robin who is the esthetician took care of my service. Everything went well from signing consent form to getting a tour of the place and so on. She’s a really sweet woman and seems like she’s well educated in what she’s doing. The only reason why I’m giving this place a 2 star is because while she was doing the procedure she CUT ME in the most PAINFUL AREA you would ever get a cut (bikini area) while shaving the hair off.
After the cut, she said that I was bleeding. I would think that at this time you would stop the procedure because you have an open wound? NO SHE KEPT GOING. All she said was «I’m sorry I nipped you» like it was ok? So I just said it’s ok. But deep inside I just feel so HURT and felt like such a waste of treatment and now have to worry about my cut being infected. I paid $ 198 for this service and I am not satisfied whatsoever. I should have gone to Q LASER in downtown where my girlfriend gets her laser done for a cheaper price of $ 150 and would have saved more gas heading to downtown than Kailua. I just can’t believe she cut me and still went on with the treatment. I CANT RECOMMEND this place after today’s service. Maybe they are better with other services? But this will be my first and last time coming here.

I came here with a friend for an introduction to many of the services offered. It was lovely event with pupus and demos. I had an eyebrow shaping and bought some products. Since that first time I have been back for other procedures and have been very pleased. The facility is modern and clean and extremely pleasant as is the staff. I will be back for more!

What a great, not so little, medi spa conveniently located here in Kailua! I recently visited for an «open house» event they had. It was a little difficult to find because it doesn’t have a large store front like some of the other businesses in the area. (just a door with a small sign, then you walk up a stair case and BAM) You can find street parking on maluniu or park in the cinnamons parking lot. (metered parking so bring your quarters)
The office is clean, cute, and very welcoming. I learned a bit about strawberry lipo, something I’m very interested in! (its an in office, non invasive procedure that is not at all painful and provides amazing results!) I was also very interested in bowen therapy. My mom is absolutely obsessed with the results she got when my aunt came down and helped her with her tennis elbow. Since then she’s been looking for a bowen therapist that lives on island, (my aunt lives in northern california). Now that we know these services are offered here we will definitely be back!
Quick tip: Stop by and check them out while waiting for your table at cinnamons! I know you’ll love the friendly staff and wide range of services they offer!
