I don’t have any bad things to say about this place. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is because there $ 6 went up to $ 7 recently. I realize it’s only a dollar and they probably had to due to rising food prices. I don’t t blame them and I’ll still go there to eat but still. Haha. On to the food. Our family likes their chicken katsu and meat jun. I love the sides they offer! It’s so delicious! On occasion, we’ll order a regular plate of chicken katsu and kimchee fried rice. The kids love their chicken katsu and they give a lot on the regular plate. It feeds our family of 4 and we get pretty full from sharing all that food. The $ 7 plate is a really good deal and the food is pretty decent. It’s obviously not as much food as a regular but totally worth the money. The owner, if he’s the one ringing it up, will sometimes offer suggestions based on what you order. Their kimchee is great. I don’t know much about Kim Chee but I do know that I love how red and spicy it is! I love it. I’d recommend this place for sure if you’re at Windward Mall and feeling like Korean food and don’t want to attempt the parking at Kim Chee 1.

An average mall kiosk for Korean food at Windward Mall. I had a regular plate with mandoo, chap chae, seaweed, and cucumbers. Good option if you’re craving Korean food at the mall.

If I can only give them 0 stars. My friend ordered for take out a 3 choice plate to split with me, we ordered meat Jun, beef bulgogi, and BBQ chicken with four sides: bean sprouts, cabbage, raddish, and choy sum. We looked at the combo and were surprised of how much food there is in there for that price. Service was OK. There was no attitude from the workers. Food: Some of the choy sum were very salty. The rest of the sides were OK. The meat on the meat Jun was so thin, could barely see the meat. BBQ chicken is OK. Onto the stir fry bulgogi… Tasted ok with the exception of the twist tie that was included in the bulgogi. The twist tie I mentioned, that’s the one you use to tie your bags of produce when shopping at your local grocery stores. I didn’t know those are edible… NOT! x. x if only we had dined in at the food court, I would definitely demand for a refund.

Boy, this husband wife team works so hard and ingredients. Plenty of left overs too! It’s «Kaneohee Korean» meaning Hawaiian Korean food. Is as good as the mall can offer.

Service was extremely rude, especially in their tone. Treated me like a nuisance and like they would rather not bother. Food was pretty bad. I ordered ahi curry and what I got really didn’t look or taste like ahi. Not worth the low quality food and horrible service.

Food here is good(spicy pork & beef Bulgogi). The portions here is pretty good as well. I gave it a 4 star because it’s not a must have but it’s good.

I’m surprised by the low ratings. I love getting Korean take out from here(i only ever tried the meat jun). They give HUGE portions for a cheap price. Most places is a little more expensive and they give less :(the sides are usually pretty good too, and next time I want to try the bulgogi wrap

Compared to other Korean restaurants on the Island, and even in Kaneohe, this place is pretty average. It’s not worth going out of your way for, but it’s perfectly fine if you happen to be in Windward Mall and need a solid meal option. In fact, it’s probably the best value meal in Windward Mall overall. The mini plates are around $ 10 w/tax, which seems high, but compared to just about every other place in the Mall, it offers a complete, healthier meal with two sides included and a serving size that will be plenty for most folks. My parents order the regular plate which feeds both of them and then some. IMO their best dish is the spicy chicken which is always cooked perfectly, and has a nice flavor($ 10.46 after tax). Everything is cooked to order, so there will be a longer wait than most other of the food court options.

Barbecue pork plate with vegetables and tofu as side dishes. Broccoli was oily and a bit raw(hard), tofu, sprouts, and pickled vegetables were ok. Pork was tasty but very very greasy. I actually felt sick to my stomach after a eating a few pieces. I understand fatty pork adds flavor but maybe dabbing with a paper towel might help. I’ll never order this again.

Tried the fish jun. Was not disappointed! Awesome, very tasty and reasonably priced. Most definitely coming back again and again. I think this place has the best variety of sides that I have ever seen in a Korean food takeout. Good customer service also. Yummy!

When Yummy’s closed at Windward Mall, I figured that was it for good Korean food and it was starting to get so desperate that IHOP was starting to look pretty good. Then one day after the Food Court was renovated, I noticed a restauarant clled Bull Kogi that opened up. I figured what the heck? Take a chance so bought their Bull Kogi regular plate. Well 2 days later, I concluded the dry spell was over and once again there was a great Korean restaurant at the mall. I’ve tired most of their menu, Meat Jun, Spicy Chicken, chicken katsu, Bull Kogi, etc and found not only was the food tasty but the portions were very generous. Although not shown on the menu, one can get a Vegetarian plate that consists of all side dishes with or without rice. And for 50 cents extra, you can get brown rice. The side dishes are the usual with macaroni salad, cut corn, bean sprouts but then they have long rice, choy sum, kimchee and kimchee cucumbers. Unless you really like hot things, I’d avoid the kimchee. It has enough cho-jang sauce to glow red in the dark and remember if it burns going in, it’s going to burn coming out. I will admit there is a wait but it’s because unlike some restaurants, the food isn’t made till you order it and I’ve always enjoyed getting hot fresh food. You gotta come and try this place out!

This place is the BEST… My fave korean food take out place!!! The prices are lowest that I know of. The veggie selections are endless and it’s hard to just pick 2 for the mini or 4 options for a regular plate. Even something simple like a spam musubi for a $ 1.60… it’s so yummy, big in size & such a simple fast treat to fulfill anyone’s hunger. I wish the owners would consider opening a location in the central town area. Love… Love…Love this plate!!!

If I’m not at Koreamoku and am craving for takeout Korean food at windward mall, then this is the only one I can find: Meat Jun — 3 ½ stars — for $ 10 I got a big plate of meat Jun that is a little tasty enough so I don’t need the sauce, however their sauce is lacking in flavor. It’s more like plain shoyu with vinegar. The high rating of this plate because they give a lot which can feed 3 of us with just one plate. The pan chan is ok, basic like the others. Service, however, is a bit lacking. The food is fast if there’s no line, but the employees have an attitude at times when serving the food when it’s ready.

As a self-confessed Korean food take-out junkie, I was hesitant to try this place after reading other unfavorable reviews… BUT yesterday we found ourselves at Windward Mall, and although this food is NOT organic and unfortunately laden with scary GMO’s, I must admit, one gets the biggest bang for their buck when they get Korean take-out plus the tasty banchan fulfill and balance the starch and proteins with nice fermented vegetables(i.e., kim chee) and fresh vegetables and seaweed and daikon and potatoes and MORE!!! I was happily pleased with our combo meal yesterday(bbq chicken and spicy chicken with chap chae /jap jae, seaweed, and kim chee). A lot of food for $ 12.55 and they accept credit cards! The food was flavorful and yummy. Yes, the chap chae wasn’t too spicy but I think they do that so little kids have something to eat. Otherwise, it was great. Now I must comment on all those low reviews from people complaining about the long wait— well, EACH order is made FRESH! If you want faster service, you’ve come to the wrong place. Plus the food is so delicious here that there is always a crowd waiting for their food. Suggestion: maybe try phone ordering? not sure if they allow it. In my opinon, Korean take out food is worth the wait because it’s made fresh and not sitting under some heat lamp… Try Bulgogi, it’s super yummy, plus Windward Mall is so kickback, relaxed, you can lounge around nearby watching the TV or people as they make your food. The sauce on the spicy bbq chicken definitely had a bite to it; they didn’t skimp on the sauce either. The regular bbq chicken was good and not to spicy for a 5 year old. They gave a very generous helping of jap jae and rice and other banchan. Yes, prices have risen over the past few decades, but well worth it! Kamsa hameda!

Unmmmm so I gave this place 3 stars for the food because it’s a lot better than most fast food, take out Korean establishments. However I would’ve given them 2 stars because they are super slooow. So slow in fact that they even have a sign that asks you to be patient because they are super slow. So slow that there was a backup of people waiting for there meals. Seriously?! It shouldn’t take that long to make food, even if they are making it ‘fresh’ as the sign says. Don’t most restaurants make things fresh as well? And they don’t seem to take as long. Mind you they may have a bigger kitchen space but still… I don’t think it should take 20-plus minutes for Mahi jun or even Kim Chee fried rice. Even I can whip something up quicker than that and I am definitely not the best cook. The food however is pretty good. The fish wasn’t ‘fishy’ and the veggies were pretty fresh. The Kim chee was just the right ‘hot’ making it a nice addition to the overall meal. Would I eat there again? Maybe… if the line was empty and people weren’t waiting around.

Rounding Up: It’s more like 3.5 Stars but I’m rounding up to 4 Stars because I liked my meal, I’ll go again and they were super busy. It’s obvious there were lots of satisfied customers. Windward Mall: This is a simple Korean stand at a mall food court. It is rare to find a culinary adventure at any food court. Bull Kogi provides a fast, cheap and satisfying option. So, adventure no, but, satisfying yes because I found something I could eat and I liked eating it. My wife liked her dinner too. Food: Spicy Pork comes with two side dish choices plus rice. It fills up a smaller styrofoam tray and is plenty to eat. {It is not the larger tray container that commonly comes with 4 side choices, a ton of meat, two scoops of rice and is enough to feed two people.} This smaller size serving is cheaper at $ 8 but is still enough to eat. «Regular» sizes are available and they are about $ 2 more. My wife loved the Spicy Pork and the smaller serving. 4 Stars from her. Meatless: I sometimes run into trouble at Korean places because they are a carnivore’s heaven to the max. Since I’ve gone strict vegan(no meat, milk or eggs) I won’t bore you with my story, but, I was able to get tofu veggie noodle soup, brown rice and two side dishes for about $ 8. It was not enough for two people but It was plenty for me to eat, hot, delicious and nutritious. It was a little bland but a little Sriracha Sauce took care of that. It was a solid 3.5 stars from me. I’ll be getting this again. These guys are worth checking out when you find yourself hungry at Windward Mall. Two good dinners for $ 16. Not bad at all!

I pick up dinner here often, as I work upstairs in the evenings. $ 6 for a plate? Not bad… Until I encountered my plate today. My daughter ordered the meat jun(as usual) with the same sides. When we actually opened the plate, things seemed normal. It looked like the usual serving of food, cooked pretty well. There are usually two large pieces of meat jun, cut into slices. The piece on the bottom? Fried egg with bits of meat… no kidding! I would’ve taken the plate back downstairs to show the workers, but I was already at work. Besides, the cooks knew what they were giving when the plated my food. Being as the food was only sub-par below, I’m tempted to boycott this place from now on. And for my fifteen minute wait, I should’ve gotten a Starbucks instead. Get these guys outta the mall and bring in some real Korean goodness!

Recently, the $ 6 plate has gone up to $ 6.50. It’s still good to me, since I enjoy eating more than cooking! I must not be a picky eater, because it’s all tasty to me. Last night, I got the meat jun with the 2 banchan of tofu and the long rice. Yummy! Sometimes, there’s a bunch of people hovering outside of Sears because they are waiting for their entrée because the meat is cooked right after you order it so that when you get it, it’s hot and fresh — it smells great! During this«waiting» time, I like to watch the musubi creations — if I’m lucky enough to catch it at the right time… First, the plastic wrap is lain over the whole length of the countertop. Next, the nori(seaweed) is carefully arranged in the middle of the plastic wrap. The large balls of rice are hand-formed and placed on the nori and spam. Each one is wrapped perfectly — maybe they assemble ten to twelve musubi at a time! It’s an amazing production! Very organized, neat, and clean(gloves are worn)! Like! The service is very efficient and pleasant! The food looks colorful and fresh! The convenient location is at the interior entrance of the Food Court on the ground level of Windward Mall at the Sears end. Eat at the tables nearby and enjoy the air conditioning or take out — it’s all good!

3 hours to kill while waiting for the car to be serviced at Honda can make you hungry… So the bf and I decided to eat here since he is a fan of Korean and there wasn’t many other options. Shoulda read Unilocal first. Ordering was smooth. You can substitute a vegetable side in place of your starch(rice.) I got the fish jun with bean sprouts, shoyu potato, seaweed, corn and chop chae noodles. The bf got the bbq chicken with corn, mac salad, kim chee and cabbage. 1 medium and 1 large drink came out to about $ 22.xx. Veggies are located on the opposite side of the counter. The shoyu potato and something else(corn?) was not on ice… red flag, but of course I didn’t notice until after I told the girl which sides I wanted. Pro: *Chop chae and potatoes were pretty good. *Fast service. Food came out pretty quick, within 5 min. *Price is decent with the amount you get. Con: *A lot of the sides were bland and/or watery(bean sprouts, mac salad, kim chee.) *Bf got a tummy ache after wards. *My fish jun tasted like an omelette – so much egg wash/batter. *Fish was frozen(I know I can’t expect much from fast food, but it was really watery, like it wasn’t thawed right or something.) Leaves something to be desired to the 10th degree.
