Joe & his crew do a pretty well job in providing a great customer service and set it down sleight to you on what are the issue. I’m sure to be back there at some point.

Great communication, prompt evaluation and service. Love that they’ll come to get your car — saves so much time! Nice to have a go-​to place, as a woman, where I know I can actually trust what they’re telling me is needed. Case in point: they’ve actually told me when something ISN’T needed as well. I-​70 Auto Service is the right place to take your vehicles.

Honest people, great work, I felt like they really went out of their way to help me. It can be hard to find auto repair shops that won’t try and rip you off. Thankfully these are honest people.

I’ve been going to I-​70 Auto for about a year and I can confirm that they completely stand up to their high reviews are are worth every penny.
Since moving to Kansas City I had been trying to find a decently priced, honest, courteous repair shop with no luck. I felt taken advantage of, disrespected and unsure about what repairs I did or did not need.
I-​70 completely changed all of that. They explain things to me when I ask without being condescending and their prices are fair. They take the time to tell me what services they suggest I need in the future which makes me feel invested in my car without feeling like I’m being upsold.
The shop is always clean, their employees are fantastic and I really cannot recommend them enough.

I was there for just a oil change, but there service was quite good. The service manager was nice and courteous. The site was clean as well was the waiting room. The only thing is they are not really well known. I have ask people if they know anything about them. All the answers were who and where.

Driving through Kansas City on our way to NYC from Reno and our engine started making a whining kind of noise. Did some googling and found I-​70 Auto Service. Spoke with Joe and he was able to get us in almost immediately and figure out that it was a tensioner belt, and have us fixed and safely out the door in about an hour. It was a wonderful experience, and amazing customer service.

The entire process was a long waiting game. Tyler immediately took ownership of this project and made me feel as though that he had a plan and this plan would work. I chimed in with my own suggestions, we made a few tweaks here and there and the plan was put into action. He had one mechanic doing the work on my car. Baker was his name. This guy knows his stuff. He tore the motor out and sent it out for a professional performance rebuild. They sent the transmission to get professionally rebuilt as well. Tyler took photo’s of the car and kept documentation for me every step of the way. I didn’t even ask him to do that and just he did this on his own. I’d get an email from time to time with updates and pictures and he would call me if ever there was a deviation to the plan.
At the end of the day, I had a drop dead gorgeous motor riddled in chrome with brand new long tube headers on a rebuilt motor with a warranty that was matted to a freshly rebuilt transmission. Along the way he replaced my radiator with an aluminum 4 core radiator, an electric fan set up, replaced my steering box and steering wheel, replaced my fuel tank and undercoated my undercarriage to prevent any rust. They also mounted and balanced new wheels and tires as well. I happily drove the car for several months with no problems.
Fast forward a few months and I contacted them again for another round of «installs» and to button up a few things that arose after driving the car for a few months. I brought them a air conditioning kit that was going to be a very difficult install. This was a complete kit. New heater box, new electric controls, new compressor, new hoses, new vents with all new plumbing. He took my non-​air conditioned car and turned it into a modern A/​C car that looked completely vintage. Again, Tyler had the same mechanic that did the previous work handle this round of installs. I also had them replace upper control arms, new shocks, new coil springs, rear leaf springs, front sway bar, rebuilt my transmission shifter box and installed a new shifter and linkage, replaced the alternator, and also installed a new electric power steering kit. The electric power steering kit was a monster to install but they got it done and it works flawlessly. They even went as far as contacting the company that made the steering kit to ensure the installation was going right.
One thing to keep in mind is that this is not a custom Hot-​Rod shop. The type of work they completed on my car is not what they normally do on a day to day basis. The fact that Tyler and Baker took this project on was a miracle in and of itself. They didn’t talk down to me. The offered suggestions and considered my opinions throughout this whole process. I couldn’t be happier with this shop. After seeing the work they’ve done on my classic car, I can’t imagine these guys couldn’t handle anything you can throw at them.

This place is awesome. You can feel the honesty in the air. The people here are friendly and have a huge attitude of servitude and gratitude.
On the more technical side, their work is equatable to their attitude. Everything seems to be done with care and integrity and the quality is great. The pricing is perfect and you definitely feel like they are on your side when it comes to the money. The business here seems so good and they seem confident enough in their work that they don’t have to cheat anyone.

We were traveling across country on a road trip when we suddenly encountered automotive problems. AAA recommended that we go to I-​70 Auto, and we were not disappointed. Prompt professional service, friendly and honest service professionals, and modest pricing were what greeted us.
If we are ever in the Kansas City area again we will definitely use I-​70 if auto issues arise. In the meantime, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND this establishment as the MUST GO TO place for any automotive issues that anyone in the area may have.

So we’re driving cross country, my mom and I, and the unthinkable happens… Our car AC stops working. And they’re having record heat in the across Midwest. Thanks to our handy-​dandy Unilocal app, we found I-​70 Auto Service. Well… Turns out that the legend of great service remains. Joe and Tyler are top notch. I felt like meeting celebrities after reading all the other reviews. Family business. Quick service and $ 100 to have the AC blowing at 55 again? Best money ever spent.
I only give 4 stars, however, because its a pain to get to while going westbound on 70. It’s a really strange intersection so be prepared to take like 3 right turns just to make one left. But hey, that shouldn’t take away from their great service.

Being new to KC I was skeptical about auto service places. After getting an oil change at Firestone and being told my car needed over $ 1,700 in repairs I was desperate for a second opinion. After Googling places, I came across I-​70 Auto Service. I called and made a same day appointment. Tyler at the front desk was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Joe took my car for a spin to test it out for himself. After about 45 minutes he came in and explained his findings. Told me what repairs were absolutely necessary or a safety hazard and told me the ones that weren’t urgent, especially if I wasn’t going to keep the car long term. Firestone had made it seem like ever single repair they mentioned was absolutely imperative.
I’m so happy I found I-​70 and don’t plan on every taking my car anywhere else, not even for an oil change.

This is one of the few mechanic shops I’ve ever been to where I didn’t feel like they were trying to squeeze as much out of me as they could. I will be returning.

Joe is the only mechanic I’ve ever done business with who I will vouch for every time to anyone. He’s always gone the extra mile to help me out. I took my first car to him back in ’92 and will continue to be a big fan of I-​70 Auto.

I’ve been going to I 70 now for a couple of years and Joe and Tyler have always taken excellent care of me. No matter what I bring my vehicle in for they get it in and out within a reasonable amount of time and the work is done correctly. I most definitely recommend taking your vehicle to I70 see Joe or Tyler they will treat you right.

Brought my car in for some over heating problems. They keep a really busy shop but do a great job of giving you personal and friendly attention. The staff is personable and in my opinion very trust worthy. The issue got fixed for a lot less money than I was expecting to pay.
The best part about I-​70 was how informed I felt. Tyler e-​mailed me information about some other things I should be aware of with my car. I was given a list of things that were going to need to be fixed in the future that had a ballpark price attached and everying was prioritized by urgency.
Would recommend this company to anyone needing car help.

I had a very good experience with I-​70 Auto Service, last week I took my Pathfinder in to get the shifter looked at — it was sticking. The diagnosis came back that I needed a new part, which was ordered. When the part came in it turned out that the wrong part was shipped to I-​70, they knew that I needed to get my car complete and back that day as I was leaving today for a few days. I-​70 was able to get back with the part supplier, get the right part shipped and get that installed by the EOB, all in the final two hours of the day. This great work kept me from having to make last minute changes to my reservations — THANK YOU.
