We recently moved near this location and were craving sandwiches for dinner. I love that they now have an online option — it helps with communication! Upon taking a bit of my staple buffalo chicken, I found myself feeling nostalgic about the location near our old house. The order was correct, but the chicken they used had some sort of herb seasoning on it, not ideal with buffalo sauce. I’m sure I’ll be back again soon and hope that I just caught them on an off night.

I am a Planet Sub fan because of their wide selection of toasted subs, their friendly employees, and their nice, frequent, e-club offers. This location has a very nice interior with good background music, and doesn’t over-toast the buns, leaving the bread warm, but still moist.

I am going to go ahead and give this 1 star. Zero stars preferably. I love planet sub as a franchise, and this was my first time at this location. I went on Sunday January 11, 2015 at about 3:45pm. I waited at the cash register for about 3 minutes before anyone came out, after asking for someone to come out. And then protruded the absolute rudest, most negative planet sub employee I have ever had. he had a mustache and very curly hair. He made me feel like I had personally wronged him by ordering. the icing on the cake was seeing someone in the back making a sandwich with no gloves. I immediately left.

I have to admit something before we get started here: I have a love for sandwiches that goes unmatched by most. This means I am also pretty particular about what a good sandwich is, and I don’t eat meat unless it’s seafood, which makes finding a good sandwich pretty difficult. Now that I have that out of the way, I have to say, I LOVEPLANETSUB! They have several FILLING vegetarian options and you can add tempeh to anything for extra protein. Thank you! I don’t get out to this particular location often, but each time I’ve come I’ve been impressed by the polite, willing spirits of these wonderful people. Indecisiveness is an issue I struggle with, but the cashier is always willing to give honest, helpful input. And the sandwiches are just plain delicious! My usual is the four cheese with added tempeh. It’s such a great blend of ingredients I have trouble ordering other things. If you’re looking for fast food you should probably look somewhere else, because it takes a little bit to prepare the sandwich. They disclose that up front though, but you can CALLAHEAD and have your sandwich ready when you get there! I realize I’ve said a lot about the veg options. My meat-eating boyfriend likes Planet Sub too. If I’m picking up dinner he usually asks me to surprise him with what I get him. He hasn’t been disappointed yet! All said and done, this is the place to go for a delicious, well-made sandwich that will hold you over for a while!

I’ve been eating at Yello Sub/Planet Sub since the mid 1970’s. Growing up in Lawrence we lived just a couple of blocks from the first Yello Sub shop on 23rd. Always been my favorite subs hands down. For most of these 30+ years(refuse to say ‘nearly 40 years’) I’ve ordered only one sandwich-The Italian. Six inches of Italian sausage, chesse, sauce, peppers and onions cradled by amazing toasted bread. This sandwich was comfort food for me. Every time I ate one it took me back to earlier times. Simpler times. I stop in today and tell the kid at the counter I wanted The Italian. Without any respect for my feelings he simply tells me that they’ve taken it off the menu. Gone. Like it never existed. Gone the way of the eight-track, disco and my hairline. They tried to pass off the meatball sub as being the same but it isn’t. It doesn’t have the same history that The Italian had. It doesn’t evoke the same memories. Nor does it taste as good. Planet Sub bring back The Italian and my youth

Foods not too bad. They have the basic subs, soup, and salad. There wasn’t anything different that stuck out about their food but it wasn’t terrible.

I was 20 miles into a 40 mile solo bike ride and it was lunchtime. Enter Planet Sub. Endless selections and very good ingredients can be assembled for about 4 or 5 bucks in a 6″ sandwich. That is just hard to beat. I chose their daily veggie blend with my beloved tempeh added. I am no vegetarian, but I just love a good veggie bomb. This torpedo of flavor really hit the spot and saved my ride. I also enjoy getting a playing card as an identifier for when your order is ready. They tried to give me a queen of diamonds and I asked for a different card. The girl looked and me and smiled as she handed me the 10 of clubs. That is too funny!

Service was really slow. If we had not already paid, would have left. This might have been due to understaffing on a Friday night. Food was still good.

This is definitely my favourite location. The manager Sean keeps everything really consistent and is a great guy. I have tried a number of different subs as well as salads. All have been good. I had a crappy salad once and Sean caught it as it came out to be served. He grabbed it and remade it himself — and it was excellent!

$ 2 turkey subs! That’s all I really think I need to say, but I guess I’ll elaborate if you are still unconvinced. Every single Tuesday is $ 2 Turkey Sub Day, invitingly displayed on a chalkboard with a turkey that’s just as excited as me. AND guess what else? When the Royals win(!) they are $ 2 the next day as well! How do they do it? I don’t know. But there’s a toasty bun, lettuce, tomato, and mayo with your turkey and it makes me happy. I’m a sucker for a deal, but their other subs are pretty darn delicious as well. And finally, I don’t drink soda much but they have Cherry Coke. Worth it. This location is the one I go to most often and is a lot less crowded than the nearby 119th location, fyi…
