American Tire Depot – Kearny Mesa

Came here a couple weeks ago for 4 new tires. Special deal was going on at the time, so I came out of it pretty well. They replaced the tires in just over an hour, giving me just enough time to grab some food from a nearby Japanese restaurant. Extra kudos for choosing a location near a bunch of Japanese restaurants. I like all of my businesses to be situated in this manner – barbers, bookstores, armed forces recruiting offices… they would all do well to learn this lesson.
Anyway.
A pizza came into the depot office while I was waiting, and they offered me some. They didn’t even add it onto my bill. Customer 4 lyfe.

Got all 4 tires replaced here about a year ago when my dealership threatened to practically rob me for four new tires… And I received a warranty with the tires/“lifetime guarantee”.
This morning I got a flat and came back to fulfill that warranty without any trouble whatsoever from American Tire Depot. They found a nail and simply took care of it as they originally stated they would. I threw in an alignment (which was obviously also cheaper here than at the dealership) and everyone was overall very friendly and helpful.
I was on my way faster than I thought and a lot less grumpy than I expected to be after a Monday morning flat…
The warranty was real (contrary to other places), the service was great… This place is everything they say they are and more. Highly recommended on my part; because, what more could you ask for?

I guess it pays to be a loyal costumer. Just last time I was there I got a free oil change on Daniel and also one of the signal lights was not working and was fixed for free. Other place I used to go never did anything for free.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants the best service.

These guys are legit! A few months ago my sister asked for help driving the kids. Couldn’t wait for the appointment I had for the regular place I use to go to for tires and ATD was the closest.
When they say they will beat any deal they do. And they take care of military, always a good thing in my book.
Daniel is great manager. I have been to this shop multiple times and his interaction with customers is professional and as good or better than I have experienced in a long time.

WAIT I’m not done… I just came out and they not only replaced the 2 tires I ask for but they also cleaned the old ones. Can I give a 5.5 ;-)

With the service and prices here there should be six stars. Please ask for daniel, this man right here should be the hated man of every competitive tire shop. His price are the lowest anywhere in san diego. Thanks for the hook up.

I was needing to have my tires inspected and/​or rotated. With all this talk about the rain I wanted to make sure my tires are OK and safe. I was in the Kearny Mesa area so I stopped into the American Tire Depot on Convoy St. I was greeted by a nice man named Carl. I explained that I was worried about my tires and I could not even remember when I had put them on or had them rotated last. Carl was very patient with me (I’m an older lady and get confused easy).
I was happy to find out that I only needed two new tires and one needed a tire patch (bonus the patch was free!!). I could only afford to get one tire. Until this wonderful man Carl told me about a credit card that American Tire Depot offers. After a short application Carl got me approved right then and I was able to purchase both of the tires that I needed! I feel like I will be safe on the road now and will tell all of my friends and family about my wonderful experience here. Thank you to Carl for taking care of me and being patient and honest with me. I will be back for the other two tires when I need them too!

I can say I’m happy with their prices, the day I went in they had my kind of tires in several brands and prices to choose from, it only took them about 35 minutes to change my tires and get an alignment. The only reason I’m not giving them 5 stars is because I had to go there twice, the first time the manager tried to shove a different size tire on me because they didn’t have 4 of the right size, and said he would call me once he got the right ones, which he never did. So the second time I went in they actually had the right ones and because they have good prices I decided to stick with them otherwise I would have taken my business somewhere else.

Best prices… even better than online. Customer service is great. Carl kept me updated on status of tires and Daniel provided great customer service upon arrival and during install. This is my 2^nd visit. 1^st was for wife’s car. Keep up the great work.

I thought I left a review months ago oops. They were a little busy when I walked in but once I was helped, the service was great. Everything was explained fully and I felt like the guys were honest and kept me from paying for unnecessary work. Thanks!

Great experience. Daniel is a pro American Tire is lucky to have him. I purchased four new tires and will return to have my struts replaced.

First time customer and will be returning. I called up to price tires and spoke to Daniel the manager. He was very nice and knowledgable on Everything. Highly recommend this place

I needed to buy a new full spare tire, and DANIEL at the desk, did right by me! The AAA guy said I needed a new rim also. Daniel and his men checked it out and I did not need a new rim after all! $ 79 and change, and I was out the door! I decided to keep my spare on (it was a full tire) but the dash warning light would not reset, because the spare did not have a sensor inside. SAYHOON suggested I put the new tire on. So he pulled my car back inside and put the new tire on, and checked all the tires and was able to reset the warning light. ALL FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE. They are very professional.
Ladies, if you need a hand with your tires, go to Daniel and Sayhoon, they will treat you right, and not gouge you, thinking you are a desperate woman in need.
I will gladly be a return customer!

bait and switch from adams ave location. the manager put the wrong size of tires 195 instead of 175.
the corporate manager told me to go to the kearny mesa for new tires. they put michelin tires on my car and did not give me a invoice. this means i have no warranty on my tires. i have called and they do not want to give me my invoice.
completely dishonest company!
july 6, 2015 the corporate manager brought me my invoice 32 days after having the tires installed. the invoice is dated wrong with the wrong date.
this company acts like i am a problem. i gave them the wrong email address, i never called them back.
it is the other way around they never called me back until i left these Unilocal reviews. i will not take them down. other consumers should really know what is happening. wrong size tires shady workmanship.
i reported this company to the bureau of automotive repair. they are clearly breaking california law!

On July 4^th 2015 I had a day off and started called around for tire prices. When I called ATD I got a guy (I believe Gabriel) on the phone that was upbeat and very nice with no pressure but said it would be no problem to get tires that day. I made an appointment with him and drove down to Kearny Mesa. When I got there he came out to greet me and took his time talking to me about the different tire options available. He offered their brand, which was a great price but I knew I wanted Michelins since I have had them before and they ride great. We went inside where I was introduced to the owner of that location and they both discussed the tires I wanted and the owner offered up advice that they had a newer Michelin available and he would give me the same price for them. There were two cars in the bays already but they took my car in and was done in about 45 minutes.
I was treated with respect from start to finish by everyone there, which is rare these days. Even the guy that put the tires on was cool. When I got home I did some online research and found out, yes the tires the owner had them put on were the newer version and I paid about $ 30 less per tire than where I use to get tires from. I definitely will be going to American Tire Depot to get tires for our cars from here on out. I just wish they were nation wide but to my understanding they still honor the warranty if you are out of state and use a different company to fix a problem.
Call around for prices then call ATD on Convoy St. and hear what they have to say. I bet they will take the best care of you!

I have been shopping around online for different tires and services for a couple of weeks as I badly needed 2 new front tires on my vehicle. I made the appointment with Kearny Mesa online and about an hour later I received a phone call confirming my appointment and informing me my tires had been ordered and would be ready by my appointment time the following day.
When I showed up for my appointment I was greeted by Daniel who was super friendly. He explained the cost of the tires, alignment, etc and quoted me about an hour. Shortly after the 1 hour mark my car was ready. Hats off to the crew for hitting their quoted wait time as there is nothing more frustrating for a customer to have to wait longer than anticipated. I asked Daniel some questions about tires for my husband’s jeep and Daniel took the time to research and print me off 2 different quotes on 2 different types of tires for my husband’s jeep. I appreciated the extra time and effort he took to actually print me off the quotes to bring back to my husband so he could make an informed decision about the type of tires he wants. We will definitely be back. Thanks for the great job Kearny Mesa!

Called and they ordered my tires last night to be delivered in the morning. They called me when they were in and started work almost as soon as I came in. Fast friendly service. 4 tires for half the price of other places and they still have a 40k warrenty. Only bad thing I have to say is that it took a long time… was quoted a hour and I’ve been here a hour and half and my tires still are not on my car. Total time 2 hrs.

This place gets VERY busy and requires customer patience.
They are friendly and have great prices on oil changes.
TIP: Prices are EXTREMELY negotiable. Pretend to walk out the door once or twice. Ask what the best price really is. If you pay the first price they tell you, you’re paying more than you have to.

A small place, but everyone seems to be knowledgeable and helpful. I drive an A5 Quattro and had to replace all 4 tires even tough only 1 tire was punctured. They had an array of prices, but brought out a bunch of different options and explained the benefits and costs of each. Overall I was very satisfied with the service, price and speed. It took about 25 minutes. Quick and easy.
Mark helped me out with everything. He was very knowledgable and made the process smooth and easy. Can’t thank these guys enough.
