Quoted me 45 minutes and it was 45 minutes on the dot. Parking in the place was a little tricky as there were few spots available but the man at the front desk was helpful!

Used this Kearny Mesa service twice, now. A no-​nonsense crew. Caesar, who works the customer service, is straightforward, polite, knowledgeable, expedient.

I’ve been here 3 times for smog checks. They’re fast yet friendly. Totally recommend this place. It’s a bit hard to find but not too difficult. Lots of great Asian food nearby. Did I mention I’ve been here 3 times? That should mean something. Check it out.

Great service & friendly staff. I recently came here for an oil change and tire rotation and was more than satisfied with their service. In addition to my oil change request, they inspected and fixed a tire that had a nail in it, and adjusted my tire pressure for me. I’ll definitely be coming back in the future!
The wait was about an hour for me, but it was understandable because I went during busy hours. But never fear! Many of the nearby food places are within reasonable walking distance. Great for filling up an empty stomach and for killing time. For those of you who just want to relax and wait, there is also a cozy waiting room with chairs & magazines.

Caesar was awesome! Very upfront and honest. I trusted him and was not let down. Even with the added obstacles. He was confident and knowledgeable which set my mind at ease! I will not hesitate to go back! If I need to that is.

Great service! Make sure you tell them you have been referred by Unilocal.They have a discount. I didn’t have an appointment and was serviced as a walk-​in in about 30 minutes total. Great service. The waiting area is kept clean and neat. 100% recommend.

Thao the owner got me in, set me up & then let me and my trusty sidekick Sleater poodle sit in the heated waiting room out of the cold and rain. The office was clean and swept. I don’t need to tell you of all the auto places where I am afraid for my dog to even sit down. But Kearney Smog was good in this detail. I don’t expect a doctors waiting room, but you should not be afraid to eat a sandwich without some critter trying to steal it from your hand.
Thao is practicing a type of customer service at his business that sets him high above his competition. And don’t forget to tell them you read about their shop on Unilocal; you will get an additional discount.

My first time here and had a pretty solid experience.
I called in beforehand just to make sure it wasn’t too busy when I arrived and they made an appointment for my oil change around 12:30 PM and gave me an estimated time for it to finish of around 30 minutes. It took less and I couldn’t have been happier.
I came for a synthetic oil change and the price came out to be $ 25 since I brought my own oil but not a filter. Within the time I gave them my keys and got them back, it took 20 minutes and they also reset my car’s dashboard oil indicator.
Definitely recommend this place and will look to come back in the future if nothing bad happens to my car. lol.

I’ve been to Kearny Mesa Smog Check several times and I’ve always received great customer service, for that I recommend this place often. I’ve gotten my car smog checked and my oil changed here within/​under thirty minutes. Their prices are great, they accept walk-​ins and they always seem to have a Unilocal deal going on. They have a waiting area with several chairs, magazines, free wifi, a clean bathroom and a coffee & water machine. The girl that works at the front is always friendly, attentive and helpful.
*They’re also dog-​friendly!

I couldn’t find a mutually convenient time to get an oil change with a Hyundai dealer and desperately needed one. I read the reviews for this place and figured I would give them a shot.
I was able to schedule an appointment for that weekend. Unfortunately due to traffic I was about 15 mins late for my appt., but luckily the manager said he would still take me. About 20 mins and $ 27 (much cheaper than a dealer) later I was out of there. Thanks for making this such an easy experience! I will definitely be back.

I needed to get my oil changed and get my car smogged before I could get my registration renewed. I dropped in at 8 am on a Wednesday, and was out the door by 8:48! Service was fast, easy, and friendly. I’m impressed and happy with their work.

Quick, painless, cheap!

Whaaatttttt, 360 reviews and a 5-​star rating? For a smog and oil change station? I had to check it out because I was too many miles overdue for an oil change and I was tired of the dealership prices.
n00b hint: To get to the station, you have to drive down to the end of a driveway. Easily confused if you’re not looking at the street numbers and you turn right into another smog check station right by the curb. Sorry to the old man worker down the street, who I asked for directions to his competition while I awkwardly made a 6-​point turn out of the extra-​small driveway…
A less than two minute drive later and we arrived at the correct smog place.
Kearny Mesa Smog was paaaaacked, there was only one parking spot left — a good sign that they have customers, but I was hoping the wait wouldn’t be too long. It wasn’t! They got my car in right away, even without an appointment.
The whole oil change took less than 30 mins and my wallet was only out $ 40 for a synthetic oil change, which is loads cheaper than what I usually pay at the dealership. Ola even took the extra time to print out a price quote for my next service when I inquired about it.
I plan on taking my car back when it hits 60k, hopefully it’ll be another 5-​star experience! Thank you Ola and Kearny Mesa Smog.

Though my oil change was quick and took about 30 mins (had appt scheduled) and cost only $ 20 (since I brought my own oil and filter), I was not happy about two things. One, there was a huge black shoe stain on my carpet and more black stains on my visor! Since the stains were black, I could easily say that whatever that person was working on prior, it was very dirty. I’m not saying that they need to have super clean hands in an auto body shop, but please be mindful when you’re using uncleaned hands to touch areas that can easily be stained! And oh, they forgot to use floor paper covers so that’s where I got the shoe stain. Secondly, they forgot to reset my oil light! It just wasn’t the service I expected to get.
Would I give this place another try? Probably not.

Just moved here about a month ago and I’m glad to find my go-​to oil change spot in San Diego!
Came here after work on a Tuesday, around 4:30pm and was able to get a speedy oil change. Cesar helped me out and he was upfront and honest. Says he checked out my 2004 Corolla during the oil change and reported I had no issues. With 177K miles on it, it’s in great shape and if I keep up with regular oil changes (which I do religiously!) then I should have no issues driving the car for years to come.
I appreciated Cesar’s honesty. I’ve been to mechanics who try to upsell me on services I don’t need just because I’m a girl. Can’t fool me! I always get a second opinion from a trusted mechanic before I get any work done anyway.
Conclusion: this place is awesome. $ 27 and 20 minutes later I was done-​zo.

These guys are pretty much no fuss and straight to the point. I’ve been to my share of oil change, smog, and automotive places in Kearny Mesa and off of Miramar, and can say that these guys are my go to after 4 years of jumping place to place in SD. Just recently, I came in for a standard oil change and the guys upfront told me 30 minutes due to the high traffic they were getting. Got it done in 20 minutes, didn’t try to persuade me with anything else, and charged me exactly what he had estimated prior to work being done. Another time, they inflated my tires free of charge.
Another plus, you’re in the middle of a bunch of fast food restaurants and even across the street from a boba place, so you can even come during a long lunch break if you’re brave enough.

Called at 0830 for an oil change and asked for an appt earlier in the AM. They scheduled me in for 0930 :) Check-​in was quick (w/​a nice man named Ceaser) and they took my car in for service. They guesstimate it should take about 20mins. Quoted $ 32 for regular oil, regular maintenance checks and topping off fluids — your basics.
Currently waiting for my car while writing this review. So far so good! Friendly, professional staff + complimentary WIFI in the waiting area.

–the price is unbeatable, $ 51 for a smog check for my 6 cylinder sedan but they have me a $ 7 discount which brought it down to $ 44 TOTAL.
–customer service was excellent.
Tip:
–come here hungry so that it forces you to go to a neighboring restaurant as Convoy St has an abundance of good food places.
Conclusion: go here for a timely and affordable smog check!
