History

Established in 2000.

After graduating from Texas A&M and pursuing a corporate career in the oil & gas industry for four years, life changed directions in 2000. I enrolled in a local seminary to pursue ministry studies and began «Cliff’s Tree Trimming» to pursue a passion and provide for my family. For the past 15 years I have carved out a niche in the South and now Northeast Tarrant County regions, by persisting in doing my own climbing and cutting, thereby keeping customer satisfaction and quality very high. I have resisted the temptation to hire crews over the years as I truly enjoy the hands-on aspect of my role and strive to recommend and provide best-in-industry standards for tree services (pruning, removals, and stump grinding).

I am privileged to be married to my beautiful wife Sherry for 19 years now, and the father of three children: Olivia, Luke, & Jason. And in 1995, I became part of God’s family as I trusted Jesus Christ to be my Saviour. A native of Fort Worth, I spent the younger years of my life working for my father on rental properties on the east side, learning a variety of trades. Landscaping, namely tree pruning and removal, was a skill in continual demand! Little did I know that after receiving two degrees from Texas A&M, working as an engineer then manager, and finally working on a church staff, would I end up running my own tree service business. It is a joy to run «Cliff’s Tree Trimming» now, filling all roles and particularly enjoying customer interaction and much repeat & referral business. Monday mornings are always eagerly anticipated — I love what I do!

I felt very comfortable with Cliff’s approach from the beginning. I found Cliff right here on Unilocal when we moved to our new home and shortly afterwards discovered that the sound of one of our gorgeous trees rubbing against the side of the house in even the faintest breeze was worse than fingernails on a chalkboard. The reviews were uniformly positive and this one is no exception. I called Cliff and he scheduled a mutually convenient time to come out to see the property a few days later. He was prompt and exceedingly knowledgeable. After looking at the «offending» tree, we went around the rest of the house to see what could/should be done. As you would expect, he knew everything about every kind of tree — including, as it turns out, a «tree» that is actually a bush and would bloom massively in the spring. We talked about the options and I liked that he stated everything in the number of years before I would need to deal with it again. He also found a fire ant nest near one of the trees and while he doesn’t do pest control, I’m thankful he found it and allowed me to address it before the weather got warm. Cliff’s pricing is fair and reasonable — he promised a bid by that evening, which came earlier in the day, and was indeed, fair and reasonable. When I accepted, he put me on the schedule for three days later and confirmed the day before. They did a great job and removed everything in such a way that you would have never known that they were there. I will call him again in a few years when I need to permanently deal with that bush.

Cliff did a great job trimming our oak trees this spring. We have a lot of oaks and a few were growing very close to the roof. Cliff did exactly what he said and completed the work in about half a day. The trees look great and we are very happy with his work. It is great to find service providers like Cliff that are trustworthy, reliable, and knowledgeable.

Cliff did an AWESOME job! Cliff is a certified arborist and does all the work himself with one other helper. He removed 6 trees, pruned all our mature trees in the front and backyard, as well as raising the canopy. I would highly recommend him and plan to use his services again as needed. You will not be disappointed!!!

Cliff’s Tree Trimming was exactly the type of service I was looking for. When we contacted him for an estimate, he came out the very same afternoon. He walked through the yard with me, pointing out the various things that should probably be done, and I loved how knowledgeable he was (who knew my oak was a water oak?) and how reasonable he was on his suggestions. He understood that I was on a budget, and at several points he said, «If it were my yard, I wouldn’t worry about that for another ten years,» which really helped me prioritize. When I told him how much I’d put aside for my trees he was willing to get everything I needed done for that — and came back the very next day to do it. He and his team also did a great job cleaning up after themselves; no branches left on my curb for the trash pickup! I feel so much more comfortable about my trees, now that they’ve been trimmed away from the house and had all the dead limbs taken down. I’ll definitely have Cliff back for any further tree needs.
