ADT called and said I had to upgrade my security system which was out of date. So I agreed. Total nightmare! Tech called to change appt to earlier time on a Fri. I was told it was a wireless system. Turns out camera was not wireless, required an electrical outlet. Besides which it did not provide useable data at night. Wireless system required more cables than previous outdated system. I was quite upset. So I canceled next day. Luckily I persevered finding a fax number to send the cancelation form. I sent the form via US mail also. It came back with sticker that address was not known and no forwarding address. I used the address on the cancellation form! Still not sure my account was canceled as my credit card just showed another charge for monthly service. Plus I still have ADT equipment in a box since I upgraded to another company and am paying close to ¹⁄₃ less per month! I was not happy with tech leaving in a hurry for another appointment. Somehow I found that hard to believe.

Stay far away from this company! I signed up for service through Gaylord shortly before selling my home. I thought it would be an added value feature, or at the least, they sold me on the ability to just transfer the service to my new home. Well, the person buying my home didn’t want their service, so I took the hardware for my new home. I made it clear I didn’t have a home yet, and they assured me that wouldn’t be a problem.
To make a long story short and spare you, we tried to buy a bank owned property, and were dragged out for months. The deal eventually completely fell through, and we were stuck trying for a new home. During this time, both ADT and Gaylord (as a consumer, I would not assume they would both be trying to get me to sign up again) were contacting me. ADT told me I was fine with how long it was taking, and were trying to get me to sign back up through them. Gaylord made it sound like ADT was doing something shady by trying to get me to re-​sign up with ADT as opposed to staying with Gaylord. At the six month mark, Gaylord made it sound like they were doing me a solid by extending their policy of only allowing you to switch within six months. I played along because ADT Corporate had told me something completely different. I am in sales, so I assumed this was just part of the follow-​up and sales process. So, we finally got in our home, but not before Gaylord called and gave me a final date they could extend. I told them, as anyone who has bought a home knows, that I can’t go any faster than I am going to close the home. I didn’t make the date, as it ended up taking almost a month after their date.
So, they sent me to collections to the tune of $ 1,400+!!! When I called to protest, they told me, «Sorry, it’s too late.» Unbelievable. So, they can extend it for you, but when they want to send it to collections, they start referring to the contract. I contacted ADT Corporate, and they told me they would contact Gaylord to resolve this, and AGAIN told me I should have been able to start service again and get the collections removed. ADT just called to apologize for giving me mis-​information. She said, «We allow our contractors to set their own agreements, and Gaylord does have a 6-​month maximum. There is nothing we can do.»
This is clearly a scam that I will fight, as why would they have such horrible service, especially when I WANTED to get their service installed in my new home!!! Stay away from anyone who would disregard customer service to this level. It could be very costly for you.

Our installation process was great and went smoothly. Done why a very knowledgeable/​helpful man. The equipment we have are still working great and so far no problem with them. I had a rebate issue with them but Matt from Gaylord called and explained that they had a glitch in their system regarding rebates and is sending me a new one with an even greater amount. Yay! The people here are very friendly and the systems are reliable.

I have received registered mail stating that Gaylord has been attempting to contact me by phone regarding my contract (which is untrue; I have received no calls).
I signed a set of contracts at the beginning of June when the system was first installed (by Shane). After requesting a modification, I waited over a month and the system was modified on August 8^th (by George). He took a second, signed set of contracts.
I then received an e-​mail from Shane on Aug 24^th asking stating that the paperwork he received from George was incorrect in some fashion. Shane asked if I wanted him to drop off the contracts personally or mail them; I stated that mail would be fine.
I then received the registered letter on ⁸⁄₂₉. I still have –not– received the contracts mailed by Shane as of this date.
The service I have received throughout my short relationship with ADT is completely unacceptable, especially with the statement that they have attempted to contact me via phone regarding this. They clearly have my correct phone number on file.
I would happily sign a THIRD set of contracts if you could manage to actually deliver it to me. I find it extremely disingenuous for Shane to have made the claim that he has been unable to contact me via phone. I’m going to be charged over $ 1,000 of installation materials in 4 business days for not signing and returning a contract that I have not yet received.

All I can bad company they say one thing and after insalling the system 24 month contract with no service. They are all about taking your money.

Although I have not purchased or done any business with Gaylord Security, I have begun to get an enormous amount of Spam email from an unknown marketing company they have contracted with to do email marketing. More than 700 Spam Emails in the last three days.

Consumer Beware! Do NOT sign or enter into any contract with Gaylord Security. Gaylord is not ADT but a representative and ADT can not help you. Very, very poor product and even worse service. Paid alot of money over a long period of time for nothing more than a yard sign.
You have been warned.

To bad there are not separate ratings for the office staff and then the «service professionals» and «tech managers» that they contract with.
ADT is a joke. Please believe the reviews that you should avoid ADT. I failed to do so and Gaylord security won me over. The girls are great and helpful when you call the main Gaylord office.
Techs and there «managers» are another story. Disregard complaints, blame everything on ADT corporate policy, remind me they are on «salary» so they can listen to you talk all day but you should stop talking if you want something done. Told me that I should never trust an electronic devices 100% (then why am I paying them a monthly charge to have an electronic device protect my home???), sorry only a 3 month warranty then a $ 35 trip charge for every issue you have.
In the first 3 months, the tech came back 3 times to replace faulty equipment and fix installation problems!!!
Now since it is past 3 months they want me to pay $ 35 so they can come out again and fix there bad install or swap the bad equipment that is magically just failing right out of the box.

I wish I had read these reviews before I signed up with ADT/​Gaylord!
You know, all those fliers you get in the mail — «FREE System with contract»? Beware! Customer service is terrible! We moved while my contract was still open but I left the alarm system active at our old house while it was on the market. Because I put in a «move request» with ADT, they cancelled the service even though I was VERY clear that I wanted to continue the service and was continuing to pay for a landline at the service address so the alarm system would still function. Their dealer. Gaylord Security put me into collections even though they continued to charge my credit card for monthly service. Did I have service or not? No one could tell me and no one at ADT would return my calls. End result? I paid the outstanding bill with Gaylord Security so I could be done with them. Has left a bad taste for both Gaylord Security out of WA state and ADT Security. There are other options out there… explore those!

I am very satisfied with the system and the professional installation. There really wasn’t any other name I recognized like ADT, so I went with them.

Before considering Gaylord as your security dealer please read this. If you are considering working with Gaylord security –DON’T! Don’t walk — RUN away. It’s ironic really that the people who installed our security system are thieves. They will lie to you, manipulate you, harass you and make so many misrepresentations it isn’t funny. They refuse to follow ADT guidelines and pick and choose their own guidelines to protect themselves. Service is terrible — the most apathetic people I have ever had the misfortune of talking to. The installers are extremely unprofessional. We unfortunately used these guys, and are paying the extremely large price. No one else should have to get deceived by these people. I can’t stress this enough — no matter what special they have, it’s not worth it — DO NOT USE THEM. Don’t make the same mistake we made. If you do use them, don’t be surprised if like me you regret it for years to come.

What can I say? Like the other reviews. These guys are shady! Make sure you are dealing w/​ADT guys. I signed up thru ADT’s website for more information. Had 3 calls from 3 different ADT reps. All claiming to be ADT people. I had to hang up on the 1^st call, after talking to the sales rep supervisor over wanting a credit card just to talk to them. ADT is another story! Stay away from the them as well. I have a year and a half left of services with them. Gaylord beat the actual ADT guy to my house. Did an install I could’ve done myself. They had trouble setting up the ADT Pulse part of the system. SMH. Good luck! install a system yourself.

New in this state, in a new home after 7 years in an apartment, we needed to feel safe in our new home and neighborhood. We thanks the Gaylord representative to stop by our home to schedule an appointment. We are very happy with the work done and we are able to enjoy our new life with serenity.

Been with Gaylord for several months and feel so much more secure. They were easy to work with and it was put in immediately plus they went over the instructions with me. They helped me register with the police and gave me signs to post. I would throughly recommed using their company plus they are a ADT dealer and when comparing with smaller companies they had the best price and protection.

Good overall service. There seems to be a small disconnect between sales people and the tech setup people but in the end I got what I was promised at the price I was promised. They were professional doing the setup and the system works great.
