This place is a hidden gem in the Kernville area nice cozy cottage is full amenities microwave shower sink TV ceiling fan refrigerator plates silverware and much more this is a great place to stay if you’re in the area perfect picture of you in the mountains if you drive down into the town there’s many antique shops food places and much more to do so if you just want to get away I recommend staying here this place is great for the whole family

This is one my favorite mountain lodges I’ve stayed at. They provide so much and the room was very spacey. It had a mini kitchen which provides a sink, silverware, plates, microwave and fridge.
Very quiet and it is RIGHT next to the river. The couple who own the lodge are extremely welcoming and friendly. If and when we return to Kernville, we hope this lodge has room for us.

Just had one of the best times at this place. Sequoia Lodge is like a gem !! Lodge is right on the Kern River. Fishing is excellent and is only a two minute walk to the river, they have a nice fish cleaning station, clean grounds, friendly staff, BBQ’s you can use to cook, rooms are very clean and cutely decorated with fish and a cabin feel. I was amazed also on the patios! We enjoyed a nice fire with other folks that were at the lodge and truly enjoyed ourselves. I give this place 5 stars ! Truly a fisherman’s paradise and just a nice place to getaway and enjoy setting at one of the patios and listing to Kern River. Also there’s a great store right across that has basically anything you may need or forgotten! And also they make great food for reasonable prices. All in all if your looking for a nice weekend or getaway to the mountains I suggest to give Sequoia Lodge a try ! You want be disappointed!

Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend! We brought a large group on motorcyclists and bought out the Lodge. They set up an amazing dinner for us on arrival. Rooms a very clean & very comfortable. It could not have been a more welcoming place

One of the nicer hotels I’ve stayed in recently. Clean, nicely decorated and maintained, comfortable bed. Staff/​owners were nice. This hotel is maybe 3 miles outside of downtown Kernville (5 minute drive) on a two-​lane road. It is adjacent to residential homes, so it is quiet. Across the street is a small mini-​mart that serves breakfast (nothing fancy– eggs, French toast, etc), sandwiches, fishing gear, sodas and the usual tourist stuff. Nice outdoor areas for BBQ or River-​watching. One thing I liked was the lack of lighting right outside my window (hard to sleep) however people with vision problems may not like it. Seniors with walkers may have a hard time navigating the sidewalk in front of the rooms because it is narrow and interrupted with a step that you use to step up into your rooms– it’s not a smooth, level transition like most hotels. Not a problem for people with no mobility issues, however. Once inside the room (a non-​accessible/​handicap room) there is a decent amount of space to maneuver a walker or wheelchair. There are no grab-​bars in the shower (which is solely a shower, not a tub-​shower combo). Shampoos, lotion provided. Microwave and coffee/​coffee pot and small refrigerator in room.

this place was so cute! had a great time. literally a flight of stairs down from the lodge and you’re at the river. beautiful views. clean. quiet. comfy. very friendly people working here. will return when we get tired of the city life.

We were totally surprised. We figured just another small town motel to stay in on the way through, but that wasn’t the case at all. This place is really well kept. Our room was very clean and well decorated and didn’t look worn at all. The managers introduced themselves and were very friendly and concerned that we were happy. There are tables and chairs overlooking the river, barbecues and even a fish cleaning station. There is a general store across the street that has a grill (also very friendly) and a BBQ place next door that was reported to be good but we didn’t try it. A nice surprise and a very reasonable price. Definitely recommended.

Wonderful place to stay while in Kernville. I’ve stayed a few times and this was by far the best experience I’ve had! The new managers, Ron and Deanna, were friendly and professional. I called the front desk to ask if they had decaf coffee (there wasn’t any in the room) and they offered to go to the store to get some for me. I spent a lot of time outside and every time either walked by, they would ask how everything was and if I needed anything. I highly recommend Sequoia Lodge and will definitely be returning.

What a great getaway. Our room was nicely appointed, very clean, we’ll kept. The property managers Ron and Deanna are sociable and helpful with great suggestions as to places to dine, points of interest etc. I will surely return to the Sequoia Lodge. I highly recommend it.

This place is great. I’ve stayed here more than 3 times and its always clean, professional, and cost effective. The rooms are charming and this is by far the best place around Kernville, CA. Also the owners are always very friendly. It is our go to spot for our swimming hole trips to the area. The next best place in the area would be the Kern Lodge. I’ve stayed at both and Sequoia is the best.

We stayed here right after July 4^th weekend. The motel was great, everything we needed and a decent price. My only complaint is about their ice machine. It was broken or something and there was never ice. It was pretty darn hot the few days we stayed. The owners would go out and get ice, but I kept having to ask them about the ice. Owner said he had to go to Bakersfield to get a piece to get it fixed.

We were hoping for a restful, friendly, special birthday weekend, and that’s exactly what we found at the Sequoia Lodge!!! Ron and Deanna were perfect hosts, and the property is expertly maintained. It has the perfect flavor for the area! We will return!!! Thank you Ron and Deanna!!!

I believe it was Ron and Deanna were super nice. Ron was very helpful in talking about things to do and things going on around town. The room was and smelled super clean! Any issues that did come up they were always available to answer any questions.

Five stars for a great experience. We saw deer in the outdoor area near the river. Clean and neat rooms. Friendly staff. Calm and quiet. Deli next door is better than driving into town for food. Patio furniture outside and grills available for everyone.

Debbie and Sarge are AWESOME! I love this place so much! The lodge is well kept! Great costumer service! Rooms, water pressure and everything else A++++++++ It was my Birthday weekend and they made it immaculate! Thank you so much for a once again memorable trip. I will be back in June :) Miss you guys and Kern!

Dunno why Aubrey down there gave 3 stars for being given a kitchenette but this place is a 5 star for sure. The staff is wonderful, location is wonderful, and it’s right on the kern and you’re just outside of the business district so u dont have to hear the cover bands playing on a Saturday night. Hotel is very clean, dish/​on demand or whatever on the tv, wifi, everything u need, this is the place!

So cozy! The rooms are very fancy. Room 17 has a porch and a window facing the river. There are 14 rooms total. Rooms 3 – 10 are the main hotel area. 1 – 2 are separated from the main hotel. Rooms 14 – 17 are the biggest rooms. There is trails to get to the river. The shower pressure is very weak. They sell mugs for sale at the office. The staff are also very nice too. There are 3 or 4 barbecue areas. One area even has a smoker too. In the rooms they provide silverware, cups, a microwave, and a kitchen sink. In the bigger rooms the dining tables have 3 – 4 chairs. Each room comes with an old fashioned fireplace, and air conditioning. There is a little shack that has a fish cleaning area, and barbecue equipment. Across the street there is a market that sells breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Some days even have good tri tip. This place is just so fun.

We just got back from a 3 day get away and it was great. Great place to stay and great staff. Our room was very clean and comfortable. A/​C worked great.
This will definitely be our new place to stay. Prices are great for the location.
Their is also a great little market across the way that served breakfast and sandwiches, both were great.
Don’t pass this one up.

I stayed here for one night this past week. I have been to Kernville once before but camped. This time we camped one night and stayed here one night. Sequoia lodge had the best reviews and best price for its location right on the water. Lots of other hotels in the area are across the main road on the opposite side of the river and charge more.
The girl over the phone and in person was super super nice. She gave us a king suite even though we paid for a queen. We stayed in room 6 which was right in the middle. We would have preferred a room on the water but it was ok since we were coming here to spend most of our time outside on the river.
Let me preface this by saying I watch a lot of hotel impossible and Gecko R is fond of ripping off all the sheets looking for stains a la Antony Melchiorri. Our room was very clean and tidy. It was pretty basic but it had a little kitchen area with utensils, plates, fridge, coffee maker, microwave and popcorn! The popcorn was a nice touch but the popcorn container was filthy. Now dont get me wrong I had a lovely stay but there are some things they could improve. Some lightbulbs were out in the bathroom, the wooden tables in kitchen and bathroom were scratched up, shower doors were weird and opened up in two places and their soap sucks.
I think for such a small place a little more maintenance care could be done to the rooms. Simple touches that would elevate this place a little more. They were however super friendly and I think this is one of the best places to stay in Kernville.
Fill up your cooler with their ice machine, head down the stairs to the river, fish, raft, and then head across the street to the market for some bbq or supplies from the nicest people out here on the river!
I will definitely stay here on my next trips to Kernville!

Nice old school motel on the Kern river with kitchenettes (which we definitely didn”t need LOL).
They put us in the back of the property, which was fine with us… no traffic noise off the street and close to the river with a good view.

This place was great! One night stay on a motorcycle trip to the see the Great Giants. Staff was very nice and the accommodations were perfect.
I would make a point to stay again next time I’m in the area.
