Perfect for the sweet tooth I have after a big salty seafood dinner. Slip in grab some ice cream and go catch the sunset just two blocks away. Lots of choices and the quality of everything is held high.

The cookies are one of the best that I have ever eaten. Mattheson’s is a staple that we stock up on when we visit Key West every year. The chocolate chip, sugar, macaroon and peanut butter fudge cookies are delicious! The cookies are huge! Larry was our cookie expert and took extra special care of us. Highly recommend when visiting Key West!

The cookies and ice cream were amazing! I had the pistachio and it was delicious, I’d previously had pistachio at a different establishment in Key West and it was not awesome. The fudge was overpriced and not very awesome, kind of gooey and gummy not quite fudge textured.

Very good ice cream. Not a fan of the mint chip though, it’s not minty enough! The cookie selection is large.

This is perfect for anyone craving something sweet late at night! I read some great reviews on a place that was adults only: ‘better than s**’, but we had our two year old in tow so there was no way we were going there. For key lime comparison, this was our first sample in key west and we liked it better than many others in the area. It’s really tart and let’s you savor every bite. I waited in the car while my husband grabbed some, and he said the lady that helped him was very polite and even suggested a full pie if we were thinking of getting more than one slice.

One of the best ice creams I have had. The mint chocolate chip is out of this world. The ice cream is really creamy. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Have been here 2 days in a row already. I highly recommend this place. They have awesome fudge and cookies as well,

What an excellent find on Duvall St. While on vacation my husband and I dropped in for an evening scoop of ice cream. We read the great reviews and figured we would try it out. The ice cream was amazing and the shop was cute and quaint. We sat outside and enjoyed the evening island breeze. Give it a try if ever down the Key West!

I have consumed a lot of ice cream over the years but the cookies and crème I had from Matthiessen’s may have been the best I’ve ever had. I asked for 2 scoops and was given what is more typically 3 or 4 scoops. The service was friendly and the gentleman was full of energy. If you’re getting ice cream in Key West, this is the place to do it.

Super cookies!!! Should be enough said but there’s always more. This is always one of my first stops in key west and it’s always a great experience. Besides the cookies being GREAT, the staff is really great too. Real friendly guys who aim to please. There’s nothing negative in my book about this place. There’s two locations on Duvall and both are equally great. Take a trip here. You definitely won’t regret it.

Excellent rich and creamy home made ice cream. They sell huge ½ cookies. We took the ferry from Fort Myers, long day. We took cookies for the boat and all enjoyed wonderful ice cream. I had the toasted coconut. Delicious!

My family and I stopped in while at port in Key West on a cruise. We were looking for a place that wasn’t just full of tourists and had been around for a while, this was the perfect place! We shared two pieces of the famous key lime pie and on of the half pound cookies. Both of which were fantastic! The service was fast and very accommodating. They even have very generous samples of their fudge which was also fantastic! Prices were reasonable and on par with the others in the area. I highly recommend this spot for anyone in the area looking for a sweet treat!

Tight fit. Sweets and ice cream. Four customers come in and it’s crowded. Hubby needed an ice cream break while strolling Duvall street on a hot December evening and This spot was nearby. They specialize in home made fudge, huge cookies and ice cream, all mad in this tiny shop. You walk in and get a sugar rush just from the fumes. There were easily 12 flavors to pick from, and not the old regular ho hum flavors. Hubby had Kahlua almond fudge. The one bite he shared was pretty good. Clean shop and great service.

Great guys. We stop in ever visit to Key West for our annual ice cream treats and always end up talking to the guys behind the counter for 10 minutes. She gets the frozen key lime pie on a stick. She says the chocolate coating is delicious but kinda too thick and brittle. Tougher to manage than the normal thinner coat, and it can kinda overpower the main event… the key lime pie. It does have a nice thick layer of pie crust in there though. I get a waffle cone with mint chip and chocolate. Its super tasty, the cone is great, but i just wish it was bigger. I guess the places back north just pile it high… cookies look amazing and are bigger than your head but we’ve never had one.

The ice cream is amazing! you can tell it is homemade with quality ingredients. I tried the cookie dough, toasted coconut, and the kaluha. All were amazing! Two scoops for about $ 5 – 6. I also had the ½ pound chocolate chip cookie for $ 6. It is a soft undercooked cookie. They bake them in premise. Be prepared to share with many people because it is sweet and huge. There are about 8’stools and a side wall counter to sit at… no tables. No outside seating. Staff was friendly and quick to serve us. I will be back for more ice cream.

Yum. Simply yum. My never ending mission to eat all the Key Lime things led me to chose the ice cream. I had a small sampling spoon size of both the Key Lime ice cream and sorbet. I opted for the Key Lime ice cream as it had a stronger Key Lime flavor. served in a waffle cone for the needed crunch and almost as a graham cracker crunch fake out like the pie itself. The price per scoop was reasonable and the employee was nice. I would not go out of my way to seek this place out but wandering Duval this would be a tasty stop.

This was a stop to satisfy a late night sweet tooth craving. I got two cookies to go, the chocolate chip and the m&m one. The chocolate chip one was quickly devoured on the car ride back to where we were staying. It was perfection. The dense cookie with the warm, gooey chocolate chips was the perfect thing to settle my sweet tooth. The second cookie ended up being eaten a day later on the flight home. I think it is a sugar cookie base with the m&m’s on top. The cookie itself needed a bit more flavor because it was a bit bland and a bit dry. I also thought it could use some more of the m&m’s. Overall, I’d chose the chocolate chip one as my favorite and this would be my go-to if I were a local looking to satisfy my constant need for sweets. I’d skip that m&m one though.
