VCA Rose Hill Animal Hospital

I’ve had nothing but awesome experiences here! I find them reasonably priced and extremely compassionate. We’ve had two dogs at this vet and both dogs have done very well. Dr. Freiberg helped us when our first dog Toby, became ill. Toby eventually had to be put down because he has stomach cancer but the entire staff here was awesome!
Our current dog Kona, recently had ACL tightrope knee surgery and is doing GREAT! We have repeatedly had only great care from the Rose Hill team!

I LOVE this vet. My black lab has been going here since he was 8 weeks old and he is now 2. They are so nice and very professional. They make you feel welcome and that your animal is in good hands. They answer every question you can think of and take great care of your animals needs. Gunner (my pup) enjoys this vet and the employees and to me that is a winner! Thanks for all you go guys!

We chose to go to VCA Rose Hill as they were able to accommodate our pup for a Bordetella shot. The first visit was pleasant, as the vets are truly very nice and good with our pup. We took him back when he was had a horrible (potty) accident in the house — ended up being Giardia. They were able to diagnose, but this is where things have been pretty inconsistent with the team there. Communicating his diagnosis was not efficient — we didn’t find out his actual diagnosis until I called back to follow up. When we noticed that he wasn’t getting any better after his medication was finished, we took him back. They took both stool samples we provided them, tested them, and they came back with nothing. Being a little unsure of their practice and efficiency — we decided to get a second opinion. Turns out he has round worm as well, which is apparently easily diagnosed with stool samples (which we provided multiple times). Its just frustrating and a little concerning that this wasn’t caught earlier (he has been sick for over 6 weeks now — and three visits later).
We will not be returning to VCA Rose Hill Animal Hospital. For the money that we paid to figure out what was wrong with our pup — things should have really been more crisp in regards to the diagnosis and follow-​up overall.
I would honestly give this rating a 1 star rating, but the vets are really nice… just possibly not that experienced.

Everyone is nice but be ready to wait Atleast 30 min for just nurse than another 20 for doctor while your in the room. The prices are not any more bad than any other vet.

My vet recommended this place when my cat Stupicabra got mauled by a raccoon because they didn’t have the proper equipment to treat such severe injuries.
These guys have been nothing short of amazing. The vet clearly laid out all the treatment options and even removed the boarding cost for the four days he had to spend there. Everyone was friendly, everyone there from the receptionist to the vet clearly cares about me and my pet, and they even let me come in every day to see him when other clinics in the past have told me they were too busy. The receptionist even offered to hold the phone to his cage so I could talk to him and comfort him a little. I know, right?
I think I may have found a new clinic. These guys are just, SO passionate about animals, and they’ll do whatever it takes for their happiness. I’m seriously in love with the people there.

I have been to several other vets, and VCA Rose Hill is BY FAR the most caring team I have ever been involved with.
Dr. Sorenson is my cats vet. She is amazing, and cares so much about my cat and goes out of her way to save me money. I don’t have much extra money and my cat has a lot of issues so I’ve had to take her there several times in the past few months.
Sorenson has spent hours on the phone with me, educating me, reassuring me, explaining and explaining again. When I’ve had an emergency they have gotten me in that day.

If you have money to burn, then this is the vet clinic for you! And if you’re looking for a vet who will go to any extreme to keep your 17 year old, emaciated, kidney diease ridden, elderly cat alive, then go see Dr Mark Freiberg!
My poor kitty was on his death bed… he had dwindled down to only 6lbs, (from 21lbs) due to kidney failure/​disease (among a few other ailments), he was losing clumps of fur, smelled terrible, was barely eating if at all, and was having accidents. He had gotten to a point where his quality of life was compromised, and we knew the right thing to do…
We took him in, to get some testing done to figure out what was causing his symptoms, this is when we learned of his kidney issues, etc… Dr Freiberg kept him for 2 nights, where he remained on IV fluids constantly, and received tons of tests, labs, etc… As the mounting vet billed piled high, I couldn’t get anyone to be honest with us, about wether or not this cat was going to have ANY type of quality of life left, or if putting him down was the humane thing to do… We were on the edge of our seat, desparate for good news, but preparing ourselves to go in and say goodbye.
When my mother got the call that our cat was «ready to go home» we were shocked and excited! Surely they wouldn’t send him home if he was ready to be put down! He seemed «better» ie; could stand and hold his head up, after receiving the IV fluids nonstop for 3 days… Once she arrived and our fragile cat was gently placed in her arms, then, and only then did the nurse inform her «let me go get the IV fluids, and antibiotics» my mom’s jaw dropped. She was then trained on how to administer under the skin IV fluid to a 6lb boney cat EVERYDAY for the rest of his life, for 10 minutes a day!!!
Of course, we had to put him down just two weeks later, after his misery became all too apparent and he could no longer function. He rapidly declined once home, and never showed any sign of improvement! He was practically dead in our arms as we arrived at the vet to have him put to sleep (A DIFFERENT VET, OF COURSE).
I feel that this vet took advantage of us in an emotional time, when we needed them to advise us of the RIGHT thing to do, the HUMANE thing to do. WHY WOULD I WANT TO KEEP HIM ALIVE FOR TWO SHORT, MISERABLE, AGONIZING, WEEKS AT HIS EXPENSE??? ALL WE DID WAS WATCH HIM DETERIORATE!!! IN MY OPINION, ANY GOOD VET WHO TRULY LOVES ANIMALS WOULD’VE TOLD US HE HAS NO QUALITY TIME LEFT ON THIS PLANET, IT’S TIME TO LET HIM GO!
I would not recommend this vet to anyone who loves their pets like family and always has their best interest in mind. This vet wants your money. BOTTOM LINE.

Dr. Sorenson has to be the finest vet I have ever had the pleasure to take my sweet dog Tucker to in his 15 years of life. I unfortunately didn’t find her until a few months before it was Tucker’s time to go.
In all of his 15 years Tucker was terrified of the vet and was a nervous wreck in the various offices I had to take him to due to my relocations for work. At Rose Hill, Dr. Sorenson and the girls working there were so sweet and loving to Tucker that he actually relaxed and was happy to go to their office, a first!
Dr. Sorenson tried her very best to help Tucker be happy and healthy but he was already running out of time by the time I found her. What she did do was give me a couple of more happy months with my sweet little boy and she and the staff provided the utmost compassion when it was his time to go. I strongly recommend trusting Dr. Sorenson with your beloved pets. She truly does love the animals she treats.

I’ve taken my dogs here multiple times. From small pups, to dogs who are in the final stages of their lives, these people have always welcomed us and our pets with professionalism and great service. We’re lifetime customers!

We were previously at Inglemoor Vet Clinic but when my dog became seriously ill they couldn’t fit her in and Rose Hill made room in their schedule immediately, and had they not she may have not made it. Since then we have received nothing but the most professional care for all of our pets. In fact the vet’s office is one of my dog’s favorite places to go. Dr. Amanda Sorenson is a wonderful, caring and practical vet who has spent a great deal of time (even personal off time) making sure that both of our dogs were healthy and getting the best treatment within reason. She respects human situations and balances cost effectiveness and treatments based on the pet’s quality of life and potential future outcomes. The staff goes above and beyond what they are «required» to do for both the dogs and myself.

I took my dog for his anual general check up at this place, they were very good. The staff was very friendly and quick to provide service. There was a $ 63 odd dollar fee for check up but was waved because I was a first time customer… I like the fact that I don’t have to pay that fee but that just make me not want to come back… because they only waved the fee if you’re a new customer and if you stay loyal then you have to pay that fee… kindda odd marketing tactic there… anyway it was rather expensive, it would have been more expensive than the vet that I used to go to if the exam fee wasn’t waved… the service was nice, I would like to come back, however the price might be a big consideration…

I’m not sure I understand the previous reviewers and why they think they should get services for free. With that said I found the techs and doctors at RHAH to be very professional. We’ve taken our dog there for years and have always appreciated the service, treatment of the animals and the «bedside» manner of the doctors.
If you want a professional environment, sensible advice and good service I would highly recommend these vets. Dr. Sorenson specifically gets an A+ from me.

Well, I have been a client at Rose Hill for over 5 years and have finally had enough. The techs are nice enough, but since they became a VCA affiliate they have raised prices and started adding unnecessary treatments to pump up the bill.
Ironically, the reason I originally became a client at Rose Hill was that the vet I was at before was VCA and charging an arm and a leg, and Rose Hill WAS reasonable.

I went here when I first moved to the neighborhood. I took my dog in, who was vomiting, and they took her in the back to draw some blood. After bringing her back and a quick consultation I went to pay the bill. There was a charge for a steriod injection. I said it must be a mistake since they didn’t mention it to me and they called the doctor who confirmed he’d given her the injection. I asked why and the receptionist called the doctor and then relayed that the doctor said, «For a lot of reasons.» What? Steroids are not to be taken lightly; to be so flippant, let alone not ask me for permission, was unacceptable to say the least. I paid the bill, walked out, and never returned.
Now I go to Brookfield which is just down the street and it’s great — read the reviews.

Sadly expensive!
This place charges an arm and a leg for anything you want done for your pets. $ 30 plus for an office visit and then so much more for anything else.
I’m surprised you are not charged for breathing in the office.
Why is it that a simple vaccination will cost you $ 50 plus and why was I told that I would not be seen if I didn’t get that vaccination?
Maybe there was a lack of communication, maybe I smiled wrong, but I know I was charged unnecessarily for somethings that no other vet would have charged for.
You’ll be better off going to a vet anywhere else.
The techs here are über nice but I can get nice for free elsewhere.
