Virginia Mason Kirkland Medical Center

My repeated attempts to work with Dr. Gal Omry’s office have been a NIGHTMARE!!! While she always remains kind and pleasant, she is tremendously unavailable; returning emails sometimes a WEEK after receiving them and her staff (female nurse and female reception) are sadistically mean and condescending, not willing to encourage Dr. Omry to read or respond to emails or allow an appointment booking!
When I mentioned their behavior to the staff at the Kirkland VA Mason, they nodded their heads in agreement and stated that they are very difficult to work with from their perspective as well! It takes weeks to get in to see Dr. Omry and she is only available in Seattle. All of this goes on while I continue to suffer scary symptoms. The terrors of this system and unkind souls who bar the gate and limit interaction with this practitioner is a nightmare!

I have loved every doctor we have seen (PA Shaw, Dr. Morrison, Dr. Gray, Dr. Rogers). I have been there with my children for both well checks and sick visits. Sceduling is easy, call backs are fast, even from the on-​call nurse after hours. All the nurses have been wonderful, even when my infant son peed on them. They are very respectful towards my children, especially Dr. Rogers and Dr. Morrison talked with my three year old about her symptoms, and then with me. They are really great with my Kids, Dr. Shaw makes my three year old a glove balloon every time we come in.
There was never a wait unless I came without an apt and they where always able to squeeze me in. Everyone has been very friendly with me and my children. I can not say enough positive things about the staff and the service. One more thing, the Doctors as well as the nurses really take their time, answer all the questions, explain well and make sure I understand what exactly is going on. They follow up with me as well and have a great email service where I can email the Dr. directly and get an answer fast. I am so happy I found this clinic.

Take what you dislike about doctor visits — the bureaucratic obstacle course, the stuffy rooms, the endless waiting… waiting…waiting — and throw it all out the window because you will find none of it at Virginia Mason’s Kirkland Clinic.
Never have I felt more compassion and care from a medical provider. Each individual doctor with whom I have worked has shown impeccable bedside manner and genuine concern for my well-​being. And Virginia Mason is a one-​stop shop: I can see my general practitioner Tuesday morning and be scheduled for a follow up with a specialist that afternoon.
While this review concerns its Kirkland Office, I have also undergone procedures at Virginia Mason’s Seattle office. While I have experienced, on one occasion, a longer than normal wait time, the Seattle office is in every other way remarkable in the same manner as its Kirkland location.

Very good and nice doctor and nurse. But the reception desk is really rude for first time visiting patient when the patient didn’t notice the waiting sign. The reception desk also don’t have any knowledge to handle international medical insurance.

Friendly, professional, most doctors and staff are competent/​excellent.

The staff that work at the Virginia Mason Kirkland office are just wonderful. They are very attentive and kind. There have been many times where I need same day appointments and they were able to fit me in with my doctor. Not only that, but if you are early to an appointment and your doc is running on time, they are able to get you in early usually! The staff that do the labs are very gentle. I won’t go anywhere else!

I have been a patient here for 21 years; I know many, many other people [14 at least] that go here outside my family. This facility offers great practitioners, many services from mammograms, orthopedic evaluations [non-​surgical approach], MRI on-​site, ophthalmology, pharmacy counseling [plus pediatrician and gynecology and family practice]. Additionally, they can refer you to their main hospital downtown. Their hours are excellent and their on-​phone schedulers are polite and helpful. I highly recommend that you give them a try if you need a doctor.

I’ve recently started going here with my new healthcare plan/​insurance. Occasionally the front desk personalities leave much to be desired, but since you talk to them for a minute — maybe two, it’s not that bad. My doctor is great (Dr. Morrison) and great about communicating through the online portal — answering questions in a prompt way so that I don’t have to go in, or wait on the phone or whatever.
The office is clean and I’ve rarely had to wait more than five minutes — maybe ten for an x-​ray.

Best doctors office I have ever been too! The new building is incredibly nice and feels like you are at the spa rather than the doctors. But the enviroment isnt even the half of it. The doctors are GREAT!!! I see Dr Pittinger and Dr Kaine usually. They are incredible and there is a real sense of community there knowing that if my primary doctor isnt available, I have an awesome and smart secondary doc waiting for me. Staff is great and my insurance covers everything there. Basically free visits! Ive seen other places like Group health, etc. They 100 percent do not match up to Virginia Mason!!! And it makes me that much happier that Virginia Mason is teamed up with the Seahawks! I LOVE VIRGINIA MASON!!! GO HAWKS!

As my insurance covered Virgina Mason, I had been going here for years. I didn’t have much of an opinion about their services beyond that I thought they were pretty fast and efficient with minimal wait times. Recently, I found myself without insurance and stopped being able to see doctors there. However, a potential new job contract was contingent on undergoing a medical exam to determine my physical fitness to be able to work overseas. As the organization is based in the UK, I was unsure how familiar they were with the high cost of health services in the US and was wary that they would blanch at covering the full cost of any requisite tests or vaccines that VM might order. When I explained to admin services my particular situation with my insurance, she asked no further questions and immediately got on the phone working her contacts to avoid any extra and unnecessary expenses be billed to me. Someone in billing even sat down with me as she missed her lunch break in order to do all the coding and break down how much everything would eventually cost providing options that I can opt out of. Dr. Suhr, also, who I ended up seeing, was both unintrusive while also displaying concern for my wellbeing and health.
I felt that everyone I had been in contact with at Virginia Mason went above and beyond their jobs especially Alicia (?) in admin services to make sure that I was taken care of regardless of my insurance coverage or ability to pay. I wanted to thank them all and will definitely be coming to you guys again once I join the Land of the Insured again.

just as i feel poor customer and poor podiatric clinic, I got a Medical Bill from them that I have not pay them. I actually pay them through Credit Card and Online. They process it and was process to wrong person’s account. They accuse me of lie. So after 2 weeks, they called back again and say they are wrong. Even their medical bill department was bad.

With exception to the part where I passed out in the elevator after getting blood draw, I give this place a pretty good review.
Now here’s the deal… I don’t like doctors, I rarely go which is a good thing since I am a young person, but my company would give me an insurance deductible contribution for next year if I went in and got blood work done for cholestral and all that jazz.
It took me about 2 weeks to get an appt with my doc at a time I was available. Now for the test you arent suppose to eat or drink anything for 8 hours prior. So I get up go it, they do the usually stuff and send me off to the lab.
I HATE NEEDLES. But the lady who took my blood was nice and honestly it didnt even hurt and it was over with in a second. She was kind of frantic so rather than sitting there for a second, I grabbed my stuff and left.
When I got in the elevator I started feeling hot, nauseous and I started seeing black spots. By the time I get to the bottom floor, I wake up on the floor of the elevator with a nurse lady in my face so you can imagine my confusion. Another lady was on the phone with 911 and the EMTs came… I passed out and hit my head on the elevator hand rail LOL. Its pretty funny if you asked me, I have never blacked out like that so its comical to me because it seems like it would be in a movie.
I heard one person out side the elevator say «YEAH IT WAS REALLY LOUD» Gee thanks. HAHA.
All in all, the moral of the story is 1) dont get up after I get blood drawn and 2) if you are going to lose consciousness, do it at a clinic with a bunch of medical people/​nurses around.
So thank you to those 2 ladies for helping me, I dont know who you are but I am sure we will never forget each other.

Another clinic with long wait times. What is interesting about VMK is that they do have a scoreboard in the check in area which lets patients signing in how late their doctor is running.
The waiting area is oddly set up… in that you wait in the halls outside the «mountain» or «beach» rooms.

I really like Dr. Suhr. He’s great. He talks to you like you are a person not just a patient.

Appointment and check-​in was painless and fast, i was led to a patient room after waiting less than 5 min in the waiting area, and the RN was fairly quick in getting my history recorded. She asked me the same questions a couple times, which made it clear that she wasnt really listening. (Kari). She carefully took my pulse and bp, and told me Dr. Kaine would be there soon; and he was. What a nice guy! I had a super long list of things I was worried about (from thyroid to diabetes, to skin irritation, to medication check, as well as the original reason i went in, which was because of back pain). He was very concerned, and although I only had 20 min for my appointment (I asked) he answered every question i had. He was genuinely concerned and had great ‘bedside manner’.
One thing that upsets me about the comments on doctors and hospitals is that patients feel like victims and complain about service. You are the consumer; make good choices, and ask questions about prices BEFORE you go. Know what your health insurance covers, and what it doesnt. There are ways to be a frugal consumer– like, go to an urgent care facility, not an ER, if you can. Way cheaper! Ask questions, and dont be a victim. You should never be surprised by what shows up on a bill, if you take responsibility for your health.

I’ve never had an excessively long wait at Virginia Mason. And I really do like my doctor there. (Heidi Rogers). But that are ridiculously expensive.
I went in there with a sore throat and a fever. I KNEW I had strep throat. The MD did spent about 3 minutes with me, got his MA to do a rapid strep test (positive) and gave me a script. The bill? $ 400!!!
Pretty sure $ 400 for a 3 minute diagnosis of something that I already knew that I had, is highway robbery.

I joined Unilocal just so that I could review this business.
Although in the 15 years I have lived in the area I have at times used Pac Med, Virginia Mason, and occasionally Overlake, I have been a patient at Virginia Mason’s Kirkland Clinic for the past two years for two reasons; 1) Because they have early morning, evening, and Saturday appointments and 2) Because I found a Physician that both my daughter and I could see, Family Practice Physician Dr. Laural Morrison. I have been pleased with the level of care both my daughter and I receive, and because my daughter is a teen, I know that I can trust that my daughter can ask any questions of Dr. Morrison and not ever feel uncomfortable.
Billing can be tricky with any hospital, so I can’t speak to that, but if one is looking for a clinic that is there when needed, at times that are job and school appropriate, then Virginia Mason Kirkland is the place to go!

I fed up with Virgina Mason. They charge you for two visits for one routine physical exam, one for the exam and one for open your mouth to answer doctor’s question. This is reason why the health care system is so broken and so expensive. What a dishonest clinic.
Also, I waited for over an hour in the small exam room for the doctor to finish his birthday celebration. (How do I know? Because I heard the staff singing Happy Birthday Dr P).
I deducted one star off my rating because Dr did not bring me a piece of cake to apologize for the long wait.
