Comfort Inn Maingate

Day 1– checking in was fast and easy. The lobby was under heavy construction. Most of it was blocked off. We had to press the elevator button and run around a tarp to a different elevator. The room is kind of dirty. The carpet is gross. Beds are not that comfy. They have a protector that is so hot it will make you sweat. The ac isn’t really reaching the far side of the room either.
Day 2– woke up to the loud noise of construction. You’d think they wouldn’t book rooms near where they’re working. Very disappointing. Also, someone is putting SCAM pizza flyers by the doors. They take your credit card number and use it. Good thing we looked it up. Theres a million restaurants nearby anyway. This place has a nice view of the water and city. I love the location. 7 minutes from animal kingdom gate.
Day 3– woken up by construction again. I’m noticing the beds are definitely double beds and they were supposed to be queen. My daughter fell off the bed :(house keeping came and I told them to come back in 30 min so we could get ready to leave and they just waited by the door.
Day 4– woken up early to the sound of someone trying to get into our room no less than 30 times. «Good lord what the heck are they doing?» I thought. Then I hear «no they’re leaving today we can do this one last». Okay thank you for waking me up early again. Every single day of my vacation these people have woken me up.
Basically, for $ 70 a night this place sucked. I can stay at destiny palms for literally half the price, a comfier bed, and nobody bothering my family or waking us up. I know better now.

I never thought I would be giving this hotel a negative review. I have stayed at this hotel many times and have never had an issue. I just stayed there again 3 weeks ago and I have to say the stay was horrible. #1 The air conditioner in our room was broken-​it never got cold enough. The maintenance person said the The temperature was fine and that he didn’t think it needed to be changed. #2 The pool area is absolutely disgusting. There were huge hair balls all over it the pool deck. The hair seem to be the stuff that came out of the drain but I guess it was lying all over the pool deck. #3 The hotel is attached to a lobster restaurant in my previous days there the hotel smelled all right this time you could smell a strong grease smell in the air. #4 this was my biggest complaint while staying at the hotel. I stayed there for about four days during that time I had brought two small travel pillows that were my sons and daughters since they were born. The pillows had a pillow cover that was made by my grandmother who passed away. During my rush to check out I mistakenly left the pillows behind. I live in Miami which is about a four hour trip from the hotel. As soon as I got home, I immediately called the hotel to let them know that I had left my pillows. From day one the hotel has been less than helpful. Every time I would try to call, they would forward me to the voicemail of a lady named Pamela. Since I checked out of the hotel I must’ve called for about four days straight and left about three messages on her voicemail — she never bothered to return my call. I begged the gentleman at the front desk to please go to the room to get the pillows before the room was cleaned and someone else checked in. The gentleman said that he could not do that. Every housekeeper that I spoke to said that they found no pillows. I had to go as far as corporate to see if I could somehow get the pillows back. Again I was told that I did not leave the pillows behind. What I do believe happened is that the housekeeping staff threw the pillows away upon realizing that they were left behind and cleaning up the room. This is a horrible way to treat the customers who stay here. I would hope that they would have a little more respect for people’s possessions .This is probably what happened because I definitely left the pillows behind. It was very upsetting to me that the staff was so irresponsible by not returning my phone phone calls and being less then helpful. It felt like they were not taking my claim seriously –like it was just a lost sweater or something. Those were extremely special pillows to me and they had a lot of sentimental value to them. There are items that are irreplaceable. I cannot believe that this occurred in the hotel. I have read other reviews regarding this hotel of people who left items behind and never got them back. I will never stay at this hotel again and I would never recommend it to anyone. If you do happen to stay here please doublecheck your items before you check out because if not you will never ever see them again.

It was a decent stay. The queen beds are really comfortable and so are the pullows. Breakfast buffet is decent… the coffee is not great though. Toiletries are pretty standard. Staff is nice and overall recommended. Just few miles from all disney attractions and shops.

I stayed here for one night. Check in was fast and Giselle the young girl in the front desk was very helpful and courteous. Room was big and comfortable. Will stay here again in my next visit to Orlando.

Stayed here for 3 days. Bhartie at the front counter was very courteous and friendly! Continental breakfast included. Waffles and tater tots were very good. We got a room with 2 queen sized beds and they were comfortable. The room was clean and spacious! Also close to amusement parks and large selection of restaurants!

Decent but small rooms. Breakfast was okay. Typical hotel breakfast. Beds were decent. Wi fi sometimes works sometimes doesn’t. Not a bad hotel but it could improve a lot of things.

Okay room for the price we paid but had very very slow internet. It would take 2 – 3 mins to load a web page. I would stay there again only if they can improve their wifi signal.

This hotel was horrible it smelled the moment u walked in and when we entered our room things we’re jus falling apart the microwave over cooked food from one side the refrigerator was not cold I will never book here again

Awesome from the staff to the room. The most comfortable bed since my stay at the Crowne Plaza in Portland. Just like all good vacations though we have to head home, but this is our last night in this place so we are going to enjoy the «S» out of it.

Centrally located, free shuttles to the parks, free breakfast, and friendly, efficient staff are pluses here! The Wifi in the rooms is very spotty and doesn’t work well all of the time. I recommend this hotel for families visiting the theme parks

You win some, you lose some.
Let’s start off with the bad, shall we?
1 — Old A/​C unite that blew warm air every so often (I would say every 20 – 30 minutes…**This becomes a Major Gripe & Annoyance trying to sleep at night or waking up in the middle of the night sweating). Plus, the knob that turns the temperature from the warmest to the coldest setting continually turns, so who knows where the actual coldest setting is?
2– The hotel desperately needs a new paint job at the very least. Old & dull yellow colored walls and tapestry don’t cut it these days. Old furniture needs to go as well.
Positives:
1 — The serve daily continental breakfast from 6:30am-9:30am. Don’t expect much, it’s eatable. Waffle station (can have long lines), sausage, scramble eggs, home fries, mini-​doughnuts, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, juices.
2 — Complimentary Wall Street Journal
3 — Free Wi-​Fi with strong signal
4 — Big rooms w/​queen size beds w/​extra area for a cot.
5 — Their comforters are actually the white feather ones in cotton. Not the old fleece-​like ones I hate.
6 — Friendly staff, especially the cheerful and exuberant lady (her name begins w/​a T. — Great person with great Attitude to speak with!!)
