History
Established in 2010.
I am Teresa Jo Starkey. I’ve always worked. I raised 2 children alone. As they grew up, I went back to school and became a Medical Lab Technician. I remarried and when my husband retired, I needed to supplement my income. I wanted to do something I enjoyed. I enjoyed sewing and when my children were small I had managed Fabric Departments for local chain stores. I decided to open a sewing shop.
My Mother had passed away about this time. In my Baby Book, She repeatedly wrote «Terry Jo», but She called me «Teresa». I decided to call my Shop, «Terry Jo’s Stitch Shop», in reverence to Her, and my Goal is to help people, «Look Good, Feel Great, Because It Fits.»
Most of my Business comes from Word of Mouth Referrals and Most of my customers are Local repeat customers. Terry Jo’s Stitch Shop has earned the Kodak Award for Tailoring and Alterations for the past two years and looks forward to serving the Kodak community in the future. We truly want to «Keep You In Stitches. «

Business Owner
Teresa Jo (Terry Jo) Starkey has over 20 years experience as a Seamstress and Design Consultant. She learned to sew from her Mother and the good olé Home Economics courses in High School. She developed a Love for the Craft and has always been able to make anything out of fabric and thread. She has raised 2 children on her own and also continued her education to earn a degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician. When Her husband retired She decided to open «Terry Jo’s Stitch Shop», to supplement her income doing the craft she truly loves. Her greatest rewards come from knowing She has made someone truly happy. The teen, so proud of her first prom dress, a Bride’s smile because her wedding gown is a perfect fit, or the tears shed by sisters because they each have a quilt to wrap up in, made of their deceased Father’s shirts. These are the things that let Terry Jo know She has done something truly special and encourage her to work hard to satisfy each and every customer.
