We are a gift shop that features local artists from around the islands. We also have our own protea farm and ship flowers and arrangements all over the US.

History

Established in 1980.

We started growing Proteas, actually a So. African native, in 1980. We went from the smallest grower to the biggest grower shipping flowers all over the world and now we are back to being a small grower and having the best growers on Maui and in California filing our orders. We started in this store location in 1982 and then it went to the Hawaii Protea Coop and then to Upcountry Harvest and then back to me … funny how things happen! We love our little store and I think and you will too. Come visit us and pick out that special gift to send back home to thank someone special for feeding the dog and picking up the mail for you while you are basking in the warm Hawaiian sun.

I was working as a paramedic for the Stockton, CA Fire Dept. My district was in the ghettos of Stockton, very depressed and really very sad. I married in 1980 and came to Maui to visit new in-​laws. They had purchased the farm and then a death in the family changed everything for them. I offered to take a leave of absense from the fire department and come over and replant the farm and help them sell it. Of course, I ended up «buying the farm», so to speak! It has been, and continues to be, a great life with lots of great memories.
