Dr. Shoushtari, a Harvard and USC educated and trained endodontist, takes pride in providing the highest standard of excellence in endodontic care. Our practice is dedicated exclusively to providing quality root canal therapy and our patients are always treated kindly and are welcomed in a warm, caring and friendly manner.

Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Often, treatment can be done the same day as the consultation. We make every attempt possible to treat patients who are in pain on the same day that they contact us. We provide root canal treatment, retreatment, and surgeries involing the roots. La Jolla Endodontics always welcomes input from our patients and referring doctors in our pursuit of excellence.

History

Established in 2002.

La Jolla Endodontics was started based upon the idea of delivering the best endodontic care. In that pursuit, an office was built that is equipped with the most advanced equipment to deliver patient care. The staff is fully committed to every single one of our patients and referring doctors and will make every attempt to meet and exceed expectations.

We use digital radiography that reduces your exposure to radiation while providing large and clear images. All of our care is delivered with the aid of a surgical operating microscope which allows optimum visualization of teeth and their intricate root canal anatomy. With this technology we are able to more completely treat and more accurately diagnose many complex situations. Each treatment room is also equipped with state-​of-​the-​art electronic apex locators, fiberoptic illumination, ultrasonic instrumentation, and nickel titanium rotary instruments.

Dr. Shoushtari graduated magna cum laude from Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he was Class President. After dental school, he completed a General Practice Residency at Cedars-​Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He followed his passion and went on to receive his Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Southern California. At USC he excelled and the Department of Endodontics demonstrated its confidence in him by selecting him to be Chief Resident. Dr. Shoushtari believes that clinical decisions should be based on sound and proven science. He has contributed to academics during the different phases of his career. While at Harvard, he worked on a peptide vaccine against dental caries. At the University of Southern California, he co-​authored the Problem Based Learning Endodontics didactic curriculum. Dr. Shoushtari is a member of American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and San Diego Country Dental Society.
