Approaching my 14th year in real estate, I know the Ins and Outs! I began the first few years of my real estate career as an assistant to a seasoned veteran with a wide scope of clients. So I quickly learned a variety of real estate, from representing sellers in the high-​end beach markets, to helping first-​time home buyers, to brokering multi-​unit investment properties.

I’ve learned that the number one key to helping my clients is being a good listener! And I know that communication is Very Important! A buyer or seller wants to know what is going on with their Huge Investment, so I make sure to keep my clients constantly updated. You will be dealing with me, not an assistant or team member!

History

Established in 2003.

Evan started in Real Estate in 2003 at Century 21 1st Choice Pacific in Pacific Beach, where he earned the «Rookie of the Year» award, while serving as both a realtor and assistant to a seasoned veteran real estate agent. He continued at Century 21 for 8 years. In 2011, Evan was recruited to the newly formed Advantage Team Real Estate in Birdrock, La Jolla. Advantage Team Real Estate is a smaller, boutique real estate firm, consisting of seasoned agents and a hip, innovative environment.

Evan grew up in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended Penn State University (B.S. in Business Logistics, Minor in Spanish). After graduating in 2002, he moved to San Diego to pursue his real estate career. Evan was licensed in 2003 and hired at Century 21 1st Choice Pacific in Pacific Beach, where he was named Rookie of the Year and annually achieved the Multi-​Million Dollar Sales Award. In 2011, Evan made the move to Advantage Team Real Estate — a boutique real estate office in Birdrock, La Jolla.

In his free time, Evan enjoys golfing, competing in triathlons, and enjoying the San Diego outdoors. Evan is also an avid supporter of the Penn State Dance Marathon supporting pediatric cancer and the Challenged Athletes Foundation supporting people with physical disabilities.

Evan is amazing! He knows the market well and took the time to understand what we were truely looking for. Like others have said, he is not only an excellent realtor, but a great person. We felt very comfortable working with him and loved that he was always one step ahead. He helped us sell our first home and purchase another; both transactions closed seamlessly. He has great communication skills, and was always easy to get ahold of. We would never think of using anyone else!

We’ve worked with many real estate agents over the years and many have been very good to work with. Nevertheless, Evan stands out in our opinion. We decided to purchase an investment property for our self-​directed IRA so the process was somewhat out of the ordinary. It involved constant coordination with the IRA custodian at each step of the purchase. Evan immediately began to communicate with the custodian in order to learns the proper regulations so that the purchase could smoothly proceed. Simultaneously he provided us with thorough information to help us in our negotiations over price. Once the offer was accepted he was very helpful at each stage of escrow until it closed. He was always readily accessible by phone, message or email and helped to remind us if we had forgotten any details along the way. He always brightened the day with his friendly smile so we always looked forward to seeing him. We rarely bother to provide reviews but Evan did such a great job that we asked to write a referral in his case!

As a first time home buyer, everything in the process was new to me. My wife and I were very grateful that Evan guided us throughout. He met us very early on and walked us through the entire process, answered questions that we had (even before we could ask), and was with us every step of the way. Here are some highlights:
~Accessibility — Evan was always available when we had questions, needed to complete documents, or just needed reassurance. This means early in the morning, well into the evening, and on weekends. He showed us numerous homes, and was very available as our schedules permitted.
~ Professionalism — Evan knows real estate. I only know what I see on those silly real estate shows on TV (buy a house, sell a house). But Evan talked us through the hundreds of documents, nuances, and steps that occur during a real estate transaction, and was calm, knowledgeable, and advocated on our behalf. He listed to want we wanted, got us the price that we wanted, and during the negotations, was very helpful in all aspects. He has an incredibly calm demeanor that served us well, especially when we are making the biggest purchase in our life.
~ Honesty — Choosing an agent is a huge leap of faith, and I have a tendency to be skeptical, especially when someone is trying to sell me something (i.e. every car salesperson in the world!) In working with Evan, we never felt like he was trying to do anything that wasn’t in our best interest financially, and in selecting a place to raise our family.
I have nothing but positive comments for Evan Gill. He is tremendously professional and knowledgeable, and will be our real estate agent for many years to come.

My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Evan on the purchase of our first home. It was a wonderful experience. His patience in helping us find our diamond in the rough, and attention to detail when it came to making the deal was stellar! There was only one thing to do when it came time to sell our house, call Evan to help us list. He killed it! We had 2 offers prior to having the open house, and 8 after. We first used Evan in 2008 when we were looking for a Condo for our daughter to stay in while she attended College, Evan was very knowledgeable about the area and a diligent worker. I met Evan through my dad when I was looking to buy my first home in Pacific Beach in 2009, I was so indecisive and had no idea what I really wanted in a home. Evan probably showed us at least 50 places before I threw him a curve ball and decided I didn’t want to live in PB at all and now I wanted to be downtown. I’m sure he was thrilled to hear that, but he was a great sport and more then willing to show us anything out there with complete professionalism. We found an excellent place and he was able to work with the sellers agent to agree to 3 years of free HOA! That’s unheard of! It turned out to be around a $ 15k in savings.
When it was time to sell and move on after getting married and out growing our downtown condo I gave Evan a call. Luckily for Evan this time, the very first place my husband and I looked at was the perfect place. We were going back to PB! Evan worked very hard since we had found our dream home before we even put our condo on the market. He placed our condo on the market and worked tirelessly getting the word out there and we were able to accept an all cash offer in less then 48 hours of putting it on the market!
