This liquor store/market is not super big but carry some decent beer and soda pop. Cashier was friendly and helpful. Definitely did not have the same experience as the one star review below.

NOTWORTHITTOBETREATEDRUDELY. The store is at the corner of an older building. It is run down and looks and feels like a cheap liquor store complete with security cameras &TV blasting. Generally La Jolla Merchants(even at liquor stores) are friendly and eager to please, not so with Frank who claims to be the owner. I usually see him watching TV and he is never friendly. As with many stores keeping enough change for small transactions can be difficult so it’s generally appreciated when a customer makes the effort to provide it, not so with Frank. Perhaps he doesn’t like Asian customers or was having a particularly bad day. He first lazily suggested he wouldn’t accept change as if $ 4 of quarters, dimes & nickels was too much trouble to count. I could understand if this was $ 20 of change with lots of pennies and if I had thrown this randomly down on his counter during a busy time and a line of people waiting, but $ 4 placed in neat piles for his convenience with no other customer in sight??? He then literally threw it back across the counter, mixing up the piles and demanding I do a recount. Isn’t that his job!!! He then uttered demeaning insults rather then kindly pointing out that a dime or nickel was missing(Hellooo!!! What do you expect happens to change when you throw it across the counter? It gets lost). Does he really think La Jolla residents are out to intentionally swindle him out of a dime? We all have better things to do with our time and money than to indulge Frank. Normally I encourage customers to go to their local store, but if owners are rude and inconsiderate(or worse prejudiced which I hope(but am not sure) was not the case) then I would prefer them go elsewhere. This is not how we do things in La Jolla and Frank should know better or find a community where distrust and rudeness are the norm.
