I used westside rentals years ago when it had different policies and it was tolerable. Its hard to say if the free sites have all the same data. I’m guessing that every site and newspaper share listings. I was told that WR has people that drive around and write down info from for rent signs. In another Unilocal review it was said that favorable reviews with staff names are from people being paid to write them and refer a staff member. I have noticed that EVERY other Westside Rentals office on Unilocal,several LA, Santa Monica, closed PB office and OC office all have terrible reviews. Make sure you read not just the regular reviews but also the NOT recommended reviews at the bottom for a full picture.

I’m only leaving 2 stars opposed to 1 star because the gentlenan I spoke to over the phone was friendly and gave me a $ 10 discount (so I paid $ 50 for a 2 month search instead of $ 60). I really only needed access for maybe 2 weeks but of course they don’t offer that.
Almost EVERY listed that I contacted with questions was already rented out! So far I have either been told «Sorry, has been rented», or have just received no response.
I do feel like I wasted $ 50. I also have seen several listings on Craigslist.
They need to remove ads as places get rented.

If I could give it zero stars I would. Never have I been spoken to by a person so rude before. I just called because I had the app on my phone. The app tries to charge you 60 dollars to email any tenant. I was not going to pay 60 dollars for an app when I don’t even know if these homes are real. The man I talked to on phone was rude and ignorant. He asked if I have seen the 60 dollar member fee and I said yes, so he proceed to say «WELL THEN YOU UNDERSTAND SO I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO SAY TO YOU» and hung up the phone. Just unprofessional and rude.

Came into the office last month and was impressed with the variety of housing options they had in my price range I decided to sign up for a 60 day membership. When i signed up they helped me set up text alerts everyday single day with all the housing options that were in my price range. I ended up finding a amazing 1 bedroom in PB for $ 1350 a month!

I found some incredible listings as I was on an apartment search in SD. I’ve been in close contact with zack (?). These guys are great!
I’m still on the hunt for the perfect opportunity to move down from SF but these guys are affirming it’s the right move for me with their great customer service and especially with the choices of apartments you can’t find anywhere, it’s a win-​win and worth the membership!
