Beyond Pilates

Love Beyond Pilates. Alissa Pankow and Marissa are my favorite instructors. If you want to try Pilates this is a great place. Beautiful studios.

I tried this studio with a Groupon special in December and fell in LOVE. I took the Beginners Reformer classes and thought I was in decent shape. (Gym workouts for more than a year) Boy was I wrong!
This is the best workout and I love the results I get from it. I just signed up for a monthly membership because I want to keep at it. :) I feel myself getting stronger and I’m able to wear clothes I’ve had at the back of my closet.
I’ve taken classes with Alissa, Jackie and Wendy so far. Each class is different and each one of these wonderful ladies pushes me in a gentle way to try harder. I like that they watch your form and assist you in doing it correctly.
The classes schedule works perfectly for me. I can do a class before work or before dinner. Love that. Can’t wait to try the other classes they offer. :)

If you are looking for a studio that offers a variety classes at a very affordable price, Beyond Pilates is for you! Their classes include multiple levels of Pilates, yoga, barre, spin and zumba. Both their La Mesa and Santee locations have classes throughout the day, seven days a week.
The knowledgeable instructors are all very attentive and encouraging to your personal needs. They not only give you the motivation to push yourself, but they give you the confidence to succeed. I want to thank Katherine, Kristi, Wendy and Carina for offering workout techniques that are truly making a difference in my body strength, energy levels and overall well being. You all rock!
Beyond Pilates also sets themselves apart by offering different membership packages that are all very affordable in comparison to other studios. They even offer a 6 class for $ 20 trial offer.

I’m trying this out through a Groupon special right now and am planning to get the membership. This place is unique in that it offers spin, barre, Pilates (mat and reformer), Zumba, yoga, and probably some other classes I missed, in three adjacent spaces. Everything is one price, and I like the flexibility of being able to take both something like Zumba plus the reformer, so you get both the cardio and the muscle/​core work.
Since I’m recovering from a pretty hairy-​scary surgery I had last year, I’m somewhat limited in my movements and ability as I rebuild my strength. The instructors have been very caring with me in finding alternative things for me to do.
The clientele at this location is also quite friendly.
Edit to parking: the owner let me know there are 40 spaces behind the studio, 15 in front (including the ones directly in front and two handicap spaces), and 10 on the street.
Also wanted to give a shout-​out to the instructor whose class I tried out last night: Wendy. She explained proper form so well that I was finally able to do these sideover oblique exercises (they’re the ones where you put the long box on the machine, then hook your foot into the strap and lean out into space) without pain. And my deep core muscles have never been worked so hard. She was also very caring and came over to make sure I was doing okay.

Loving this studio. So far I’ve tried quite a few of the pilates classes and a couple of the spin classes. The times are convenient and the teachers have been great (love Marissa if you’re up for a pilates challenge and Neely for spin). Equipment is great and class sizes are small. what more could you want!!!

Nice place with on point equipment. The first class is free when registering online. Brand new spot so they offer great deals! Class was well thought and tough enough. Happy

I am not super self-​motivated when it comes to exercise. So when I found out that my favorite instructor (from a past Pilates studio), Joe Melendez, moved to Beyond Pilates, I was beyond thrilled. His class on Mon, Wed, and Fri at noon is a great way to spend a lunch break. It’s as challenging as you want it to be as he pushes his students far enough to get results while meeting each person where they are in terms of strength and confidence. He also has an 11 AM class on Wed which is a good one to learn about Pilates technique.
This studio is awesome because the rooms are big, bright and clean and they offer Zumba, and spin, and barre, and Pilates and probably a bunch of other stuff that I have not tapped into yet. Thanks Beyond Pilates for opening in La Mesa!

I started out at the santee location and have seen some awesome results within the last two weeks. I love that the instructors push you past your comfort zones and encourage your progress. Everyone is so friendly and always happy to see you.
I slept in past my santee class so I decided to try the La Mesa location, and I am OBSESSED!
I have the unlimited membership so I did the All Levels Reformer Pilates and Spin (all before noon on a Saturday) and I definitely felt every single muscle working.
I love this location (it’s only 5 – 10 mins away from the santee location) and the extra classes they offer.
This is THE BEST investment in my health and body that I have made. I am So happy to have discovered this awesome company!
