History

Established in 1982.

I took over Dr. Paul Lavin’s La Mesa practice in 1982. I practiced as a solo doctor until 1999 when Jamie Peters, O.D., joined me. Then in 2007 Kusay Arabo, O.D. also joined us. This multi-​doctor approach insures access to care during all business hours as well as after hours emergencies.

Really appreciate the excellent care I have gotten from both Dr. Peters and Dr. Cauchi. They are customer service oriented and do a great job caring for my eyes. I needed an emergency consult last summer and was seen immediately. I found Dr Cauchi to be knowledgable and professional. I see Dr. Peters on a regular basis and appreciate her patient services as well.

Dr. Cauchi pretty much saved the eyesight of a colleague’s sister, so, you know, she’s one of the best in town. finding a good doctor/​dentist is so difficult — its kind of a word of mouth thing and you soon discover that some friends have either lower standards or better health than you. we’ve been going to dr. cauchi for about 6 years now, both the wife and I read a lot and we need new contacts and glasses on at least a yearly basis — her office is right in downtown la mesa and she always does a great job getting the prescription right and measuring the wife’s eyes for her custom-​made toric contact lenses (for severe astigmatism). also, dr. cauchi is into sorcery/​witchery stuff and is pretty cool to talk to as well.
