We educate and empower homeowners to complete your DIY home projects. We offer al la carte services so you pick and choose the level of service you need. We offer basic consultation, on-​site guidance, extra labor, all the way up to full service general contractor if you decide not to DIY (do it yourself). We also rent tools, deliver materials and remove construction waste.

History

Established in 2013.

I am a San Diego native. I’ve been doing home remodels for 25 years. A licensed general contractor since 1997. My wife and I created a new business model to help homeowners who want to complete their home projects themselves (DIY).

Until now homeowners have only had two options, DIY or hire a general contractor. We bridge the gap by allowing you to do what you can and want to do and let us help you with the rest. We will teach you in your home, get you started on your project and let you take it from there. If you want more help than that or a second set of hands we can do that to.

I remember those who taught me the skills I have learned over the last 25 years and I want to pass that on to others. It is a very satisfying experience to complete your own home projects. I love helping homeowners learn to do it themselves and take pride in their work.

I am a San Diego native. I’ve been in construction for 25 years. I’ve had my own general contractor’s license since 1997. Until now I have sustained my business entirely on repeat customers and referrals. No website, no advertising just hard work, keeping my customers happy.

I am a family man and when I am not working I enjoy playing golf, sports, camping, fishing and hiking.

We hired Drew and Christy to help with the remodel of our new home in April, and we are SO glad that we did! We knew that we could save money by updating the home ourselves, but didn’t have the knowledge or experience to do it correctly without professional help. Hiring DIY with Pro Help was a wonderful middle ground, allowing us to learn along the way while making sure that everything was done safely and properly.
Our remodel included installing new tile in the 2.5 baths plus removing old carpet and installing hardwood flooring in the living room, downstairs hallway, upstairs hallway, and on the stairs. They had all of the tools we needed to get the job done (tile cutter, chop saw, table saw, nail gun, and SO many more that my husband and I didn’t even know we would need!), plus Drew was very knowledgeable and down-​to-​earth working long days with us, keeping the hard work feeling fun! We have already been recommending them to local friends, because we were so impressed and satisfied with our experience. Definitely work with them for any remodel needs!
*Almost forgot to mention that we invited Drew and Christy to our housewarming party, and we had a blast celebrating the successful remodel with them! Christy even gave us a beautiful housewarming present — a gorgeous wine cork corkboard which we now have hanging in our kitchen! =)

I just worked with Drew on a double bathroom remodel in my condo and could not be happier. I knew I could do the painting and electrical, and I had wanted to do the tile myself, too — but I was afraid I’d screw it up, and so had planned to hire someone else to do the floors entirely. Then I learned about DIY with Pro Help. It was perfect — I got hands on instruction for every step from cutting to mixing to setting, and had supervision and help to make sure things went smoothly. I’m now confident I could take on a future tile project on my own, and I saved money. Plus, Drew helped me with parts of the project I didn’t realize I’d need help with, and would not have been able to complete on my own. My husband and I are thrilled with how everything turned out. Overall, Drew is a very knowledgeable and professional coach, and I strongly recommend his work.

I had bought a couch for a great price on Craigslist. Unfortunately, I did not measure the couch or the house before I bought it… I could not return it to the gent I bought it from. It was about to downpour in a day… Andrew from DIY came over on THANKSGIVING DAY to help us remove a window, and move the couch inside the house.
He, and his work, were completely clean and professional– ie, he’s not the kind of contractor guy you don’t want saying dirty words around your children.
A definite recommendation — and it was fun to learn a few things!
Definitely will use DIY again!
