Michael was so nice! I recently moved from LA and broke my eyeglasses when I first got here. Michael was kind enough to help fix my glasses right away with no wait time. I also saw some cute frames I definitely want to check out next time I stop by.

Was with a friend in the shopping area, so decided to ask if my glasses could be straighten a bit since they look a bit off, one side sit higher than the other, this is something that any optical usually does it for free as well clean your glasses. You know, you never know when that person can become a potential client right? Well I was asked if I did buy them there, and when I said no I was told take it to the place you bought it. The week after that, had to have my eyes check for new progressive glasses done and you bet I didn’t go there. Could have since I live in the area and like to support local businesses but after that first visit I didn’t think so.

I can’t believe more people don’t know about this place. The owner has had this business for over 30 years in La Mesa, and he has not only the most unique frames, but amazing prices. His frames range from all eras of the 20th century, and he’s got a story for each pair. I have been looking for red, oversized frames for a long time, and he had many to choose from. My frames were $ 60. $ 60! For a pair of unique frames that I have not seen on anyone else. If you are looking for truly vintage frames, this is the place. He keeps weird hours, and prefers cash or check, so keep that in mind. I hope more people will give him business so I can continue to get my frames from Hart Optical.

Me being 21 years old I was hesitant not seeing the top brand names such as Versace, Gucci, Burberry ect but I tell you what he does have some of the best glasses made to last. He has a great selection of glasses especially if your into old school glasses made in the 70’s 80’s you will never see a selection like this nor will you meet a great salesman and friend when you go shopping for glasses. And yes I said friend that’s exactly how he treats you I am very pleased. Not to mention GREAT PRICES

The owner of Hart Optical is very friendly and helpful. Although I had some challenges with the glasses I chose, he remained patient and persistent during the course of several visits to get things right. Now that I’ve adjusted to the new-​to-​me progressive lenses, I love the glasses. He had a great frame selection and knows his business. I highly recommend this business.

If you’re looking for top quality, great service and lenses made right here in the U.S.A. that give Americans jobs then go here! Sure you can go to Costco and have them send the prescription out to communist China but why?
I can’t tell you how many lenses he has done for me there have been so many but they are always perfect. He puts 3 prescriptions in every lense for me & they are always exact!
Hart Optical is one of those places where you don’t get lost in the shuffle & you get treated as a client instead of a customer.
