The most delicious and beautifully crafted sushi I’ve ever had! Their baked mussels were our favorite.

Was there about 2 hours ago for a total of 2 minutes. Me and a group of 4 walked in and this Caucasian lady who seemed to be in her early 20’s asked nicely if we would like to sit at a table that she was looking at inside the restaurant. We asked politely if we can sit outside in the patio and this server looked out to the table that had someone’s dishes. She automatically got upset and with an attitude said«well you’re gonna have to wait, I have to buss the table.» As we were waiting we didn’t notice that we were in her way and she rudely says, «Uhm, excuse me. your in my walk way.» So I automatically grabbed my friends and left. We spent 100 $ somewhere else :)

My friends and family always love to go to this sushi restaurant. Food is always fresh, comfortable atmosphere, and great customer service from Angie. Chefs are always welcoming and very friendly. We always order their garlic edamame and vegetable tempura. My favorite specialty rolls are Oh My Gosh Stosh Roll and Komodo Dragon Roll. Excellent place. ***Only downside was one bad experience with a new waitress who wanted to argue the time difference of the happy hour. We walked in before happy hour but was seated exactly at 7pm. When bill was brought to us the same girl tried to tell us we ordered 9 beers when we only ordered 2. New girl could not get her facts straight.

This is by far my favorite sushi restaurant in La Mesa. The rolls are creative and much different than other places and the service is always fast and courteous. It is quaint and only seats a small number of people which gives it a more hometown feel. The owner also made a point to come out and talk to us at the end of our meal. If you are looking for tasty, fresh sushi then you must try Konnichiwa!

I was craving Japanese food and Konnichiwa hit the spot. The murals on the wall are really cool and everyone is really friendly. The food was very creative and the rolls are delicious. The lunch special is a great deal and offers a ton of food. Lots of good draft beer too. Worth a visit if you are ever in La Mesa!

Exceptional fusion and traditional sushi. Excellent blend of east-west flavors. We got to taste a brand new roll tonight that is a beautiful mix of smoky smooth fish and crunchy shrimp tempura topped off by a sweet eel sauce with an explosion of spiciness. Angelica is knowledgeable, gracious, and fun as always. Love this place!

Close by in the heart of La Mesa is this little sushi restaurant. It is pretty good! I recommend it and eat there periodically. Lots of great choices. The Lemon Drop Roll is excellent! It’s a nice switch from all the Italian restaurants on La Mesa Blvd.

This place has a very unique environment. The painting on the wall is fun and playful. The sushi is good. We enjoyed the service and staff. They were very friendly. Come and try it. Because it’s in the village it’s a great family restaurant

Wow. I don’t know many sushi places in La Mesa but this place deserves five stars. We were just visiting this area and were told by the locals that this place is great. They are right… This place is number one in my book. The sushi is totally fresh and clean tasting. The presentation is very well done and a delight to behold. We live 120 miles away and we will definitely be coming back to enjoy another delicious dinner here. The prices though not cheap are very reasonable for the good quality that you get.

Good prices and nice menu selection. I really like the ginger martini which was not strong and very refreshing. I cannot remember which rolls we ate because they were all specials — all tasted very good. I recommend the specials and try a martini. We waited a bit long for the rolls even though it was it was slow but I will try them again.

this place is bomb… huge rolls with great prices and when the server Angie put a wrong roll order in for our table she let us have it. Plus happy hour till 7:00 is killer. Highly recommend this place, not for large groups but still nice.

We came here for dinner on Friday night and had a wonderful experience, great food, good beer/alcohol selection and really nice genuine service. We got the naughty Scotty and the Kimono Dragon rolls and spicy yellow tail and California hand rolls. All delicious and not too drenched in sauce or oils. Small restaurant feel and great food, we will be back!

The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is because we had to wait w while for our sushi because there was only one sushi chef on for the night so it took us a while to get or food and drinks and the fan overhead is weird because it makes the light seem like a strobe light. But other then those two things this sushi is amazing. I love the vibe of this place. It’s small but very artsy. I would highly recommend it!

The Kar-Age(popcorn chicken) appetizer was really tasty! The food was great, the roll I had was both tasty and fresh(Rainbow) and the staff was friendly.

When I complemented the chef on how amazing their chicken katsu special was he replied«We wanted to make you happy so you would come back!» Isn’t that how the restaurant business works? If you haven’t already make sure you say Konnichiwa(«Hi» in Japanese) and try out Konnichiwa sushi and bar.

I used to drive 28 miles from El Cajon to Sushi Deli. Because it’s honestly my favorite type of food, starting from ambiance, to quality. The professionalism and service is beyond expectation. The Waiters Angie, German and the chefs Moi and Julio know how to they’re job. If I had a business, they would Forsure be on top of my new hires list. Thanks for being so excellent.

I still have not found my favorite sushi place in San Diego, but in comparison to what I have had here, this place is on par. I tried the specialty village roll. I didn’t notice if they had a saki/roll/beer combo, but they do have an excellent draft beer happy hour with some very affordable prices including PBR at $ 2. The staff was friendly enough, overall it’s gotta funky vibe non traditional sushi ambiance. I’ll probably be back with friends if I ever visit downtown La Mesa.

This makes me sad to say this, because I love sushi and the presentation was beautiful. but I’ll(hopefully) never go back to Konnichiwa. Pros: Pretty presentation Cons: Horrible service, I had to beg for our drinks half way through our meal The décor/ambiance. it’s. bizarre. Too hard to explain you’d have to see for yourself Unprofessional staff. drinking beer, yelling, cussing, telling inappropriate jokes The fish tasted fishy :( too expensive I live near here so was hoping to really like this place. sad to say I won’t return.
