I read the reviews but was also referred here by a family member. I was either going to go with the reviews or take my uncles recommendation. So I called Royalty and explained I needed a ring sized and a bracelet clasp fixed. I was quoted cheaper than all I had previously called AND I was promised same day service. I showed up, at 4pm mind you, and I still received exceptional service, within 1 hour he repaired my 2 items along with my grams ring. All 3 items were fixed perfectly in an hour and the total cost was less than $ 100. The owner was the only one working and he was absolutely the nicest, most professional, informative(yes, he went over the whole process and more!), and the work was perfect. I will definitely go back for my future jewelry repair needs. I don’t want to discount the other reviews, I know this site helps us consumer’s make a satisfying choice. But only speaking of my experience, I was more than satisfied, and certainly more taken care of than any other place I went to. And I suggest visiting the store next to Vons, not the kiosk inside vons, the store is the one I went to and the owner was amazing!

I have never been treated more poorly! The owners are scam artists with terrible service and no professional ethics! I brought a watch in for a simple battery replacement, but was told that it was something more, and promised to be called with a quote once the issue had been confirmed. I was not called with a quote, but rather, called to be told that the watch was ready and the cost was $ 180. Since the watch was 3 years old and had only cost $ 225 brand new, this seemed totally unreasonable. I reminded the woman that she had promised to call with a quote, to which she replied that she«only quotes diamonds.» After a few minutes of going back and forth, she admitted that she was supposed to call with a quote, but would still not negotiate on price. I was very wiling to pay a fair price but without any receipt for the part that she claimed to have purchased for my watch, there was no way that I was going to pay nearly what I had paid to buy the watch to have it fixed. She began yelling at me and said that since the work was done, there was nothing that she could do(although she is the owner –so clearly there was something that she could have done). Since we could not agree on a price, she said she would have her husband, the co-owner and watch repairman, take out the replacement part and return me the broken watch. I agreed. A few days later I returned to pick up the watch. Her husband gave me the working watch and asked for $ 180. This meant that I had to go through the whole story of not being quoted a price a second time. He also would not negotiate on price and began yelling at me when I refused to pay $ 180 which I had not agreed to. We came to the same conclusion that he would take out the part and return my watch in the same condition that I had dropped it off. He was extremely rough in handling the watch as he took the new part out and then threw the watch onto the glass counter top in my direction. When I ultimately had it repaired at another shop(The Jewelry Loft) and better price, they noted that the inside had been scratched. In my opinion, this was likely done by him.

If you have a waterproof or water resistant watch, don’t take it here to have your battery replaced. I have a Freestyle Capitan II watch that is water resistant up to 100 meters and ever since this place replaced my battery I’ve had condensation build up in my watch. When I took it back the woman said she’ll see what she can do. When I came back to pick it up she said that she tightened the screws as tight as possible, and then said my watch isn’t water resistant. I looked at her with disbelief and said yes it is resistant up to 100 meters(it even says it on the watch) and that I’ve worn it several times while surfing and have never had a problem. She obviously didn’t bother to look up the make and model otherwise she wouldn’t have said it wasn’t water resistant. She is clueless.
