Tech 2U

I can’t thank Ron and Tech 2U for all their help! My computer crashed and I was stranded. I visited the shop and I am sure glad I did! I bought a great computer right there on the spot and Ron had it up and running in a day. I have also signed up for their tech support so I now have the assurance that I will have good, reliable and immediate assistance if I have any future computer issues. Thank you Ron for your friendly help!

I had been a customer of Bulleye Computer Repair for a long time, and when they sold off their business they sent out a letter requesting that we give Tech2U a chance…
Today I found myself in need of computer service. My first thought was I’d give Tech2u the opportunity to help me. I went to the San Diego, location today and found the store closed for the day even though the open sign was lit and at 1:30p I was well within the 8−5p listed hours for today on the door. Another sign on the door stated to call and make and appointment. It appears they make more coming to you so manning the store during their office hours isn’t important. Needless to say this was a disappointing experience and I’ll find some other company that wants my business.
After reading some of the other reviews perhaps it was a good thing they weren’t there.

Gerardo O is the BEST! He put in a new SSD hard drive for me in record time! I work from home, he understood how important it was for me to have my computer back up and running. Excellent work by Gerardo O and Tech 2U!!! Thanks again Gerardo!!! You’re amazing!

We used to go to Bullseye but it was sold to Tech 2U. I needed to know why my cabinet design program was suddenly not able to display all functions. I told Ian the only change had been an upgrade to Windows 10. Realizing that, I had attempted to revert back to Windows 7 but was not able to. So the estimate was $ 189 to have Windows 7 put back on and if that didn’t fix it, then I needed them to figure out what to do. A lot of money I thought but I needed this done and Bulleseye had recommended them. I now know that was simply a term of selling their business to them.
Ian called me and said it was all ready to go. Only when I got down there, he’d installed Windows 10 and never bothered to look at my program. Oddly enough it was not fixed. That’s sarcasm!
Three days later, he called and said he figured it out. This time he had installed Windows 7, but my program was not fixed. To which he said, «Just use this button here, and see, the graphics are fine.» Except they weren’t. When I explained this to him he just said he didn’t know. «Maybe its the GPU.» Isn’t that why I pay you; to figure these things out.
«Well sorry I couldn’t fix it.» Then he told me my bill was almost $ 400. What?! «Well we added memory like you asked. That program will work much faster now.»
«Why would I have you add memory to a computer that can’t display my program correctly?» I asked. I had him remove the extra memory.
But still, I paid $ 189 for him to not do it right the first time, then install Windows 7, but not be able to figure out how to fix my program. He never checked the graphics card. So basically I paid to have Windows 7 installed.
These people are a joke.
FYI Ian: when the program can’t display graphics and the fan is going 100 mph, that means it’s the graphics card. I discovered this when I typed in the problems to the internet. And yet I paid you $ 189 to not come up an answer.
You guys are unethical and Ian knows nothing about computers.

We’ve used Tech 2U over the years for various computer needs. We decided to network our office computers/​printers/​scanners, as well as set up some email accounts for the company. Gerardo came out and the quickly set everything up, answering any questions I had as well as providing me with great information and suggestions. I’ve been trying to our gmail accounts for our employees, without success. I called in remotely and James took over for me and set everything up. What a relief!!! Thank you, I should have called a lot sooner. We applaud your company and technicians for always doing an exceptional job.

For the past few days I had been having trouble with my Microsoft Outlook. After uninstalling and trying to reinstall Office I realized I lost my product key code that I had gotten with the computer. My computer was originally purchased from Bullseye Computers in La Mesa-​So when I called it went to Tech 2U (Apparently Tech 2U bought them out) In the past if I had issues with the computer I would take it over to Bullseye since we were neighboring La Mesa Businesses and they wouldn’t try to charge me over $ 200+ dollars just to look at it-​which is what this Tech 2U company wanted to do. The gentleman told me that since I had deleted Office that it would be pretty much impossible to put it back on my computer without buying another keycode and that all my info would be lost. And with a rush service ($ 50.00 extra) it wouldn’t be until 6 PM or even next day until it would be fixed. LIES LIES LIES!
I went with my gut instinct after I got back in my truck and ran back in and got my computer. I went back to work and was able to get online and download a program that was able to list everything about my computer-​Even my old office key code! I did a system restore and reinstalled Office-​put in my key code-​and I was up and running again-​before 2 pm! This place was a joke-​and very unhelpful. It seemed like they thought I was at the mercy of them (since it was my business computer) and that I would have no choice but to pay them a fortune to do what I was able to do in ½ the time.
As a fellow La Mesa company all I have to say is that I am completely disappointed with Tech 2U. They were dishonest, unethical, and most of all unhelpful!

I have had laptop issues for the past month not being able to turn it on, so when I found some free time I called around to all the different computer repair places in my area to see who could give me the best price and seemed honest.
After a stressful couple of hours I found Tech 2U because of the amount of positive reviews, so I decided to give them a call. The man on the other line asked me politely to come in so that he could diagnose my laptop issue FOR FREE.
I drove straight there and within 5 minutes the man had figured out my laptop issue and had suggested that I buy some missing pieces for my laptop and that he could repair it for a super reasonable price.
Needless to say, I will be buying the extra pieces to fix the physical damage to my laptop and taking it to Tech 2U because of the wonderful first impression. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Had my laptop serviced by Ian, who I want to recognize as being professional and courteous. My in-​store experience wasn’t great, dropping off and picking up computer, not a lot of personalized customer service there in my opinion. Overall I’m satisfied with the outcome, taking only a week, everything seems to be running smooth, installed Windows 10 which is really cool. Thanks again Ian for delivering the good news.

I had a computer crisis and called the office of Tech 2U. They took a look in my computer and told me of a few things that needed help. I planned a time to stop work and they were going to work on my computer and would call me when the work was completed. the people I spoke with there were professional and seemed honest not sales types. As I turned out my husband fixed the problem when he got home but I had already paid for it. The manager Daniel not only promised to refund my money but also gave me a $ 50.00 credit to use if I need help in the future. You can’t find that type of good business every day

We were struggling with some tech issues, when I decided to call Tech 2U. The service provided by «Joe» was prompt and affordable. Of particular note was Joe’s kindness and understanding while repairing our tech issues. Moreover, Joe knows his stuff! We are so grateful for Joe and Tech 2u. I cannot recommend them enough, especially if you are in a pinch and need prompt, affordable, understanding tech experts!

Even more great work from these lovely guys! I recently realized my computer had a Windows 10 upgrade available. I called them and asked them how to go about this. They remoted into my laptop, checked the compatibility, and told me where I could improve for free. So I took them up on their offer and paid for a full clean to get rid of my recent accumulation of malware and had them set up a back up as well. After that, they comfortably upgraded me to windows 10 and even went over the fundamentals with me in regards of how to actually use Windows 10. I cannot thank them enough. I’m even having them come out next week to set up my smart TV! I will always come back to Tech 2U for my tech needs.

I am a small business owner and I have been using Tech2U for about two years now. I have used them remotely as well as taken a few PC’s into their shop for various reasons and I cannot speak highly enough of Ronny and his team. These guys are certainly experts in their field. They have always kept their word with regards to timelines and results and in addition they are friendly and professional. I will never go anywhere else for tech support as I have had more than one horrible experience elsewhere. Thanks again Ronnie, you’re the best and I have referred you to others in need of help!

Brought my computer in full of viruses and garbage I had unknowingly downloaded, so my computer kept crashing. 2 days later I took home my working computer. Ronnie also gave me a lot of advice and helpful information. I pretty much have a stone-​age computer, but they were able to get me back online.

I have a home based business and from time to time I need computer tech support. I have been using Tech 2 U for approximately (2) years.
My problems are always fixed whether it be remotely or at home and in an expedient manner.
I would highly recommend Tech 2 U to anyone. Ronnie is AWESOME!

I have been using Tech 2 U for about a year now, and I must say; all issues have always been resolved The service is quick, and efficent. Ian has done almost all of the repairs on my home computer, and he is terriffic! Ian is always friendly, and very informative. The appointments are always kept on their end, and they always come on time. I know it can be pricey, BUT depending on what you want, and having someone come to your home, and fix it right there and then; it’s worth it. I will continue to use Tech 2 U, they are great.

My computer suddenly wouldn’t load my profile… so it wouldn’t open. I called Tech2U because of the great reviews. Ian came out the next day and in less than 15 minutes had the virus removed and the computer back as good as new. Iran was professional, knowledgeable and patiently answered my questions. I will refer anyone with computer issues to Tech2U. Thanks Ian!

I’m sitting here on hold for 5 minutes now as I type this; dude answered and immediately put me on hold.
I just got clicked back to VM Menu.
Total of 6 minutes on hold.
Guess they don’t need my business.
Maybe they should fix their customer service first.

Last week i tried to restore my computer but i made it worse, so i decided to try out tech2u, The gentleman in the store was very knowledgeable and courteous, and helped me understand what i did wrong. my computer was done the next day and had a 30 day warranty for the issue i had fixed. will definitely use these guys again.

My honest opinion:
The first visit in November 2012 went well. Nathan, the tech, fixed a nasty deep rooted «FBI» virus. So very happy.
The second time was a joke. Made an appointment for 2 – 5 pm slot. A confirmation call came in. So it looked like all was a go… Nathan never showed up! No call to say he would be late or sorry.
Not happy… poor service.
