My family has been going here for years. Alvin and Jay were top notch and always so very helpful. New ownership is so unprofessional and rude. Taking my business to Advanced Optometry in Palm Desert where Jay is now working.

My family of 8 and I has been going to Optix for 9+ years. We have always been very happy, until the new ownership… We found where Jay went and we will be taking our business to Advance Optometry.

I reside in Canada, but spend 5 months per year in Palm Desert. A few years ago Alvyn Riemer provided me with 2 pair of prescription glasses. The service was great and the product entirely satisfactory. This year one of the arms broke on my new prescription sunglasses, purchased in Canada. I took them to Alvyn to see if anything could be done. He immediately replaced the broken arm free of charge. I want to sincerely thank Alvyn for his help and highly recommend him to anyone needing such services.

I decided to select Optix because of the great reviews. I was pleasantly surprised that all the reviews were spot on, and I received extraordinary customer service. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I made an appointment for an eye exam, and thankfully they are open on Saturday, which made it even more conveninent. I desperately needed a new pair of prescription glasses. Optix has an exceptionally large selection frames as well as sunglasses, including designer brands. My main concern with my previous glasses (besides the prescription being from a few years back) were that my eyelashes hit the lens of the glasses. Since I recently discovered eyelash extensions and have become addicted, I was set on finding a pair of glasses that would allow me to see clearly without smashing the extensions up agains the lenses. They were very patient with me while I selected my frames and explained that they could adjust the glasses to tilt away from my lashes. Once I picked up my glasses, I fell in love, it was a perfect fit! I was able to see again and my lashes did not even touch the lenses, which made them so comfortable. I would recommend anyone looking for a great optometrist in the desert to make an appointment at Optix, they are fabulous. Incredible customer service, frame selection, ease of appointment, professionalism and an inviting atmosphere.

Wonderful experience with Alvyn who is very knowledgeable and pleasant. I needed my two new pair of glasses within a short time, and they were back from the lab in two days — amazing. I have had trouble with glasses being correct before because of my strong prescription, but these are perfect. What a great find, and I highly recommend Optix of La Quinta.

What an amazing team of professionals. Thank you Dr. Kiernan for putting together such a team! From he moment I walked in the door and received such a warm welcome, I knew I was in the best place for my eye care. My decision to try Optix of La Quinta was based on several recommendations as well as the reviews listed here. Boy did I choose right and now I will be seeing even clearer through my new Oakley glasses. Yes, even great brands like that, Ferragamo, Penguin, and the list goes on. Be sure to put them at the very top of your list as you can’t go wrong.

On a whim I gave Optix of La Quinta a shot at the end of December 2014 to use my benefits for the year. Long story summed up. Through no fault of them my insurance VSP screwed my glasses up! So here it is Feb 1 and I’m still waiting to get them corrected. But the customer service at Optix has been wonderful. They have been trying to solve the problem they did so much complaining to my ins I got a free pair of glasses and I told my husband I’ll be sad when I no longer have to speak with them on a weekly basis! The guys there are great! just wish you had a better selection of Ray Bans

I can’t begin to say enough good things about Optix of La Quinta. Dr. Kiernan is wonderful and very thorough. Alvyn and Jay are so helpful and friendly and their selection of frames is the best in the desert. They have been my go to for eyewear for five years. My husband and I both highly recommend them.

Great service and strong selection! I needed an adjustment on my glasses and they did it free of charge with a smile on their face. I ended up replacing my heavy glass lenses for plastic for less than $ 200.

I am new to the desert and chose Optix of La Quinta due to location, store cleanliness and friendliness. Alvin and Jay are the best. I had gone to another optician who made a major error on my prescription; Optix resolved the problem with incredible customer service and patience.
I highly recommend Optix and be sure to say «hi» to Charlie, the store mascot!

This business is a perfect example why everyone should patronize small businesses! The gentlemen here as well as the eye doctor are fabulous. They totally get customer service. I lost my glasses. They searched all over and found another pair for me. They were an older model and hard to find. I call and order contact lens. They have never dropped the ball and always, always call me when items are in, remind me about appts., etc. the shop has a friendly and helpful atmosphere. Fun people to come visit! The eye doctor is also great, a former Navy doctor. I am 60 years old and have worn contacts since I was 16. He have me some great tips about my contacts that I had never heard before. Why anyone would go anywhere else is beyond me. Besides, they have the cutest Dachshund doggies there. What’s not to love about this place. Customer service extraordinaire!

Such a pleasure to enter Optix’s …smiles, happt place. Alvin is the BEST. Been going for over 3 yrs and never a problem. Had sunglasses over 2 yrs old that the arm fell off. Took it in and Alvin tried to fix but realized it was defective. He ordered a new frame… no cost and presto, I had my sunglasses again. That’s just one example of their quality and customer service. So Glad I Found them!!! My entire extended family now used Optix in LaQuinta to all of our satisfaction! Individual attention and extremely helpful selecting frames with your face in mind, sometimes ones I wouldn’t have tried but end up loving on… thank you Alvin!!!

Within the past year, I bought both bifocals and prescription sunglasses. They are exceptionally accommodating. Unfortunately, I have fell asleep with glasses on my face more times than I should admit and have stopped in to get them adjusted. They even replaced my lenses without my asking during the initial 6 months I had them.
So much better than a chain store.

I was having a very hard time finding glasses due to my strong prescription limitations and most stores limited selection. Several of my previous searches ended in tears. Optix of La Quinta was the 6^th store I visited in my search for the perfect pair of glasses. At this point, I was starting to lose hope. I can’t stress enough what a different experience I had here. Alvyn patiently helped me try on almost every pair of glasses they had and helped me make a selection. Not only did I find the perfect pair of glasses, but I also found a fabulous pair of sunglasses! The whole process was more than painless, it was fun! Thank you to everyone at Optix, especially Alvyn. I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t found your store!

This is an update to my previous review. My previous review is still accurate but my wife had major issues with the lenses on her glasses due to the lab that this office uses. Her lenses kept scratching and then there was this greasy film they put on that caused my wife’s vision to be blurry. The glasses had to be sent back to the lab MULTIPLE times. This reflects directly on the doctor because he chooses to use this lab. So, consider the quality of the lab that the doctor uses because the post-​sale experience is even more important as we found out the hard way. They really do need to get a more professional, higher quality lab because it detracts from the professionalism of the doctor since he uses them. Bottom line: ask the doctor about the quality of the lab he uses (any eye doctor, not just Dr. Kiernan).

My wife and I are recently new residents to the La Quinta area, and have been looking for professional service providers. We hit the jackpot with Optyx of La Quinta. We just walked in cold to meet and ask questions, and walked out with appointments to see Dr. Kiernan the next week. What a pleasure — we received highly professional and thorough exams by Dr. Keirnan and his staff, clear and simple explanations of findings, along with complerte anwers to all questions, and, the best fitting glasses ever for both of us. Dr. Keirnan is great, as is his entire staff, including Alvyn, who is simply the best optician we have ever met. Fair prices, took our insurance, prompt, and many other complimentary descriptions if space allowed. We highly recommend Dr. Keirnan and staff at Optyx of La Quinta.

My husband & I just came back from having eye exams at Optix of La Quinta. This was one of the best experiences we’ve had. Not only are the staff extremely friendly, knowledgable, and helpful, but they went above & beyond to ensure that we received amazing service. Dr. Kiernan was absolutely wonderful! My husband and I both have been going to Optix for several years. We tried a different place when we first moved to La Quinta but the customer service was just not what we wanted. Optix is wonderful. Dr. Kiernan is very professional and really knows what he’s doing. Alvyn has helped me select glasses that look better than anything I’ve had before and he handles all the insurance stuff very competently. Jay is also very helpful and friendly. What a great team!
