I chose to rate this 3 stars because the service wasn’t the best. It took them a while to come take our order, ask if we wanted drinks and even get our food. We spent an hour and 30 minutes when we could’ve easily been there for 45 minute max. I also believe that the food is a overpriced for the quality and quantity. The proportions are small, and while the food was good, they were not phenomenal and was slightly under seasoned. While this review seems negative, the restaurant is overall good, with a clean atmosphere and decent food. However, for the price and service I will not be visiting in the near future.

I enjoyed the décor at Christo’s. The red up lighting on the exposed duct work was a nice touch. The food was pretty average. I had the biscuits and sausage gravy and was pretty disappointed. It tasted like a pepper gravy mix with a small amount of sausage. My fiancé ordered the croissant French toast. It came with caramel, pecans, and whipped cream. It was sweet and had good flavor. Overall I found everything very average. nothing amazing, but I would go back.

Must say A+++ place to eat. It’s a must visit! You’ll totally regret not eating here. Had breakfast, strawberry pancakes it was a fantastic plate and well plated nice proportion. I’ll be back again and again.

Went here for the first time. The menu choices looked amazing. I was excited to try it. The interior décor and atmosphere were good. It was just after 5pm when we got there and the restaurant was mostly empty. Our waitress, Kira, was very pleasant and attentive. Near where we were seated was a small server station that was not enclosed and seemed to be a congregation point where, at any point in time, there were 4 – 5 wait staff standing around talking. Annoying and not very professional. I ordered the Smothered Sirloin. To start, the presentation was lackluster at best. The side dish came on its own little plate and the sirloin on a larger one. I don’t expect fine China but the pesentation and quality of the plates just seemed overly generic. To a lesser extent the same can be said of the food itself, taste and appearance. Improving the overall appearance of the food and plating just a little would go a long way. This is also the only restaurant of this type that I have been to that did not have a full bar and so I had to go without my Bloody Mary. Strange.

I have been to this Christos several times and never had a bad experience or bad service. The food is great and the atmosphere is nice. No complaints

I have been to this restaurant several times and always leave disappointed. I want to like Christo’s, but the food is just really not good. Tonight I ordered a Reuben, only ate half. Previous visit it was spinach that seemed like maybe it was frozen or had not been cooked fresh. Time before that ordered a club sandwich added on bacon and the waitress brought me a BLT. I would expect rhese basic items served at a restaurant to be at least as good as one I would make in my own kitchen and I am not a «chef».

This review is for the cristos in west lafayette… sorry i accidentally posted it here. New to Unilocal sorry! It first began when we were greeted by a grumpy hostess and then seated. We waited over 5 minutes for a server to come and ordered our drinks. When we got them there was literally 7 pieces of ice in my husbands tea and hardly any in my warm water and my daughters apple juice. Next issue was my daughters applesauce served with no spoon and there were no spoons already on the table. Next issue was i ordered a simple mid-rare steak and potato. The potato was hard as a rock on the outside and only half done on inside. Sent it back and got a smaller hard as a rock potato that was more like potato jerky. Then cut into the steak and it was nice and raw! I gave them both back and at this point my husband is practically done and my daughter is finished so i told her i did not want a replacement and please remove from my bill. She comes back 5 minutes later with the steak and no potato. I said i asked you to please remove it from my bill. She then brings back the adjusted bill and said sorry. How hard is it to cook a steak and a baked potato? Thats beginner level cooking!

DON’T WASTEYOURMONEYORTIME!! We were excited to try this place out! Well… we will never be back again, and we actually almost walked out. A taco salad was ordered without olives. The taco salad arrives with olives. When brought up to the server she said«ohhh I think one just accidentally fell in there». Well, no that wasn’t the case. There were actually almost more olives than anything else. So she comes back(literally a minute later) and says«ok, we took the olives out». Ummmm. What ??? So basically the salad was dug through back in the kitchen and then brought back to us after being mauled. Disgusting. We said we wanted a new salad, and somehow a new one arrived in a few minutes. Needless to say we decided against the salad. We made it clear to the server that we were not happy about how the situation was handled. She came back a few minutes later and said«oh don’t worry we took the salad off of your bill«Hmmm well if we aren’t eating something then of course we aren’t going to pay for it. This just kept getting worse and worse! The other meals ordered. Chicken tacos with rice… nothing fancy. Two kids meals. again nothing great. The worst part was when we went to pay the manager asked us how everything was. We started to explain and he said«Oh yeah, I heard about that. Sorry. «Hmmmm well if you’re the manager and there was a problem then why wouldn’t you address it to make sure it was taken care of? The whole thing was just handled so poorly. Also, there were only about 6 other occupied tables in the whole place, so it’s not like he was slammed. He gave us a coupon on the way out, after we paid. I was just so disappointed! Also, the bathrooms are disgusting, and bathrooms say a lot about a place. Just don’t go. We wouldn’t go back even if it were just based off of how the food tasted.

Sunday brunch with the lady and a few friends. Aside from the disorganization and nearly 20 people standing about beside us, I can’t say too much about the wait time. It’s to be expected in this town that the post-church rush is always going to put a damper on lunch. After about 15 minutes, we were finally going. I opted for a bit of hometown comfort, the Chicken and Waffles. The buttermilk breading on the chicken and adhered wonderfully even after an unintentional deluge of the house cinnamon apple glaze(I didn’t even need the lackluster maple syrup!). Waffles on the other hand just didn’t cut it for me. They were still rather doughy and didn’t have much of a flavor profile. My three companions all opted for some sort of omelette, each as tasty as the last. The house potatoes, or hash browns, were all undercooked across all three plates. Potatoes like these should have a nice crispy top to them, not mushy white masses of potato. The toast also seemed to have copious amounts of butter hidden between the slices which had to be scraped off by the spoonful. Aside from the minor errors that left me wanting more, our lunch was still rather enjoyable. I look forward to coming back another time when the staff isn’t so flustered and enjoy a nice lunch.

Best breakfast place in Lafayette and West Lafayette. I have also heard their other foot is good as well. The French toast is so amazing and definitely my go to. I also sometimes get the classic egg sandwich which never lets me down either. The cappuccinos are so good and I love that they use actual whip cream and the cinnamon on top. I have to sadly admit a lot times I would come here hung over and the place truly hits the spot!

Lunch meal with the super picky wife. I did the Gyro with mushrooms. The wife tried the chicken Greek salad. Very slow traffic wise at 2pm. But very good service and almost too much to eat. Related to Around the Clock in Valpo. Excellent food. The unknown diner digs it!

The Greek omelet is amazing! Christos has been at this location for many years with a loyal clientele consisting mostly of retired and elderly patrons. That is really the hallmark of a sit-down diner. If people over 65 eat there, you know the service and food are good. And Christos is good with several unique items. I love the Greek omelete, as I mentioned, but all of their omlettes are excellent. Breakfast is the most popular meal of the day here. Lunch and dinner are also served. You can get in and out pretty easily. There is a «secret» entrance off of Concord Road, behind the Penquin liquor store. Because if you are traveling north on Concord, you can’t turn left onto Teal Road. The back entrance makes it easy to get in and out of the Cristos parking lot. Christos portions are substantial and the prices are perfect. Greek omlette with two slices of toast and generous side of hash browns for less than $ 7. I’m not kidding. Atmosphere is good too, very warm — not typical sterile diner décor.

Very nice staff. The food is good. Prices are a bit high, but it is the only decent place I know to feature breakfast all day in WL outside of campus.

When I come to visit my friends in the area, we go here. No real frills on the menu but sometimes it’s nice to have basic meals. The last time I went there(12/08/2012) I got the Taco salad. Worst one I have ever had! The meat seemed like it was from a left over meatloaf and was not seasoned as taco meat at all. I asked the waiter for no onions at all because my tummy is very sensitive to sulfa and onions make me sick because of it. The meat had little chunks of onion cooked in it and was soupy. This was the nastiest thing I have eaten in a long time. It was almost the same taste of corn beef and hash with water dumped on top. I eat the taco shell and just stayed hungry. if you want okay food that most likely won’t make you sick. go here but stay away from the taco salad.

For lunch, Christo’s is just okay. I’ve been there countless times because one location is near my house and the other’s near work, and they have very affordable food. However, I wouldn’t say that I’ve ever craved Christo’s – I feel like their food is pretty standard. You won’t be disappointed if you get a turkey club, a taco salad, or(I hear) their gyros. I wouldn’t go for their soups, though – their chicken noodle does not resemble chicken noodle. Also, they aren’t Greek, so I’m not sure why they advertise themselves as such. They have maybe three Greek dishes on the menu. The service can go either way here. Sometimes I get phenomenal service but other times it’s barely passable. None of the servers really seem thrilled to be working there, which I get, but that attitude affects your dining experience(I phrase which I feel is silly to use with Christo’s). Also, look for their misspelling of Beijing up by the front window…

This place is as close to Applebee’s as a restaurant can get without being a chain. The restaurant deems itself«international» because it has pasta, steak, quesadillas and a chicken stir fry on the menu? Nothing about the menu is exciting. Their healthy options are basically plain grilled chicken or salmon. The food was completely average and unmemorable. The service was slightly below average. We kind of felt like we were being rushed out at 7:30. That being said, there was no one else in the restaurant(never a good sign), so maybe they wanted to close

When I came here on Sunday we were in the thick of the after-church crowd. There was a giant blockage of senior citizens right at the entrance, and I feared we would have to(gasp!) WAIT for our greasy breakfast, but our group of five was seated right away. Despite us being five 20somethings, we were given 3 full menus and 2 childrens placemats with crayons. I don’t get it either. We persevered, we shared menus, we really came together as a group to conquer the challenges the hostess had thrown our way! Soon I was nursing a hot coffee and eagerly awaiting my french toast breakfast. When finally delivered, my french toast was covered in a decadent dollop of butter and the maple syrup was real. Things were looking so good! I then turned my attention to the eggs, where I found my over-easy eggs to have runny whites. Runny egg whites. On a Sunday morning. That’s just Busch-league! Alas, I did not let such a small egress ruin my otherwise delightful breakfast. I would recommend this restaurant if you are a college-adult who still wants to color on children’s menus and are not grossed out by undone egg whites.
