I have been here many times over the last few years and it is the only blood draw lab I will go to because of Richard. I have very difficult veins to find. With other technicians I become a human pin cushion until they eventually end up stabbing my hand veins which hurts. Not so with Richard, every time a direct hit! Richard used to work at Stanford pediatrics, so I would imagine his skill stems from there. He is always professional, organized, warm, and he works exceptionally clean and fast– not all labcorps are like that and I can say from experience. Thank you Richard!!!

I have been to this labcorps location around a half a dozen times, plus an additional visit for my son when he was 2 ½. Prior to attending this location, blood draws were my worst nightmare. I am a 32 year old, who, from age 13 to 28, had to have my blood drawn at least twice a year, and not once did I go without my mom to hold my hand. Upon finding this location, and specifically Richard, this is no longer an issue for me. This location was recommended, as Richard has decades of experience in pediatric work, so when my son needed his blood tested, we came here. My son barely noticed the needle go in, did not flinch, cry, or express any concern during the drawing of the blood (much better than mommy’ behavior!). Since then, I have returned to this location for every blood draw I gave needed, and have only had great experiences. Richard is so great, and makes the process so easy and tolerable. I recommend anybody use this location of possible. I ALWAYS make an appointment, as I am not one to want to wait around. The one time I didn’t (although I tried and they were completely full), I popped in and Richard helped me immediately. Ian currently sitting in the waiting area, for my second round of glucose tolerance for my pregnancy. I have consumed 100 g of glucose, and already had my blood drawn twice (two more rounds to go). I have been offered a place to lay down to rest, been asked how I feel about every 20 minutes (as this test can result in faintness and/​nausea), and only been treated with the utmost respect and kindness. It’s nice knowing I can come here, and not only have my blood work done, but I am being well taken care of.

I had put my blood work off for too long. Today I decided to bite the bullet and get it done, but feared that at 8am it would be really busy and I wouldn’t get in and out in time. You need at least 2 hour notice if you schedule an appointment. I was in and out in 10 – 15 minutes? Richard was very professional, thorough, and pleasant. This LabCorp might be the best kept secret in the East Bay! The labs over by John Muir always seem to be much busier.

Very good experience here. Richard was friendly, calm, and inspired confidence. He managed to draw 5 vials without any difficulty– and that’s with my smallish veins and relative dehydration (drink water, folks!).
Note that this is a one-​man operation… a sign at the front says that walk-​ins may wait up to 30 minutes, and that was right on target. You can also make appointments.

Richard’s excellent blood test work done made me can’t post this 5 stars review sooner enough. He just glanced in seconds and poked the right spot harmlessly. The reason I appreciated his amazing job is I’ve been doing regular blood test every 3 months over last 3 yrs. I tried many places to do that and most nurses complained my blood vessels are very hard to find. Sometime they even poked me couple times with nothing came out. And the worst experience was a lady turned the needle around INSIDE my skin since she didn’t got the right spot. It made my half arm turned blueish after weeks. I hope I had met Richard much earlier to save those painful experiences I’ve had on my arms.

My wife and I had a good experience today. We needed a blood draw for «wellness» exams and after reading the positive reviews here regarding Richard we decided to try this location. We were not disappointed. Richard is a master of the «blood draw». Very friendly and professional. He was able to find a vein very quickly and in just a few minutes the draw was done. My wife also had a positive experience and now, 12 hours later, we have no bruising. This man knows his stuff. We highly recommend him if you need a blood draw.

Customer service is friendly and prompt the employees at this branch are knowledgeable and go above and beyond will continue to drive the extra miles for this branch

I live in Oakland and make a point to go to this Lafayette location. Main reason is Richard — he is thorough, professional, and goes above and beyond. For example, recently my tests had not been reported and I was concerned about the delay. Richard stayed after hours and spent 45 minutes on the phone to get an update for me. He is fantastic! The facility is also in a great location, clean, and convenient.

I have had blood draws here a total of 2 times and so far and have not had any bruising. Richard who works here is very polite and an expert at taking blood without bruising patients

This is for the Mt. Diablo Blvd, Lafayette location. My husband and I went yesterday morning for blood tests with fasting. We got there shortly after 7am. There were three people ahead of us. A couple of people came in after us. We all sat there and listened to all the employees talk and talk and talk to one another. Not one of us was called. One woman left in disgust. Around 7:30 they finally decided to do their jobs and called the first man in. I was called in at 7:50. All this is bad enough but it did get worse… The tech punctured my arm three times and left to get another tech (I’ve never had problems with my veins). The new tech comes in, puts on gloves, takes out a new needle, swabs my arm with alcohol and then proceeds to open three drawers, root around looking for something. She then took her NO LONGER sterile gloved finger and tapped on my vein before sticking me with the needle. When I brought it to her attention she had no idea what I was talking about. What kind of lab technician does not understand the importance of working with a sterile field? I was then sent to the bathroom, which was filthy. When I came out I noticed that my husband had both arms bandaged. It seems that the lab tech (the very same one who was so sterile-​challenged) took his blood, removed the needle and then realized that she’d forgotten to do one of the tests ordered. I discussed this with my physician this morning and she says that, unfortunately, my experience was not unique. Their practice is flooded with complaints about LabCorp. I did get a call this morning from a man that works for LabCorp and he said that he will work to fix these issues. We’ll see, but I think that I’ll go to Qwest from now on.

I usually go to MuirLabs off Montego and I love it. Or I used to. I haven’t been since they were sold to LabCorp. I came here for a one hour fasting glucose test. Richard is friendly, efficient and professional. I would definitely come back to this location.
