Starting June 7th: We go mobile! That’s right — we come to you! We specialize in mobile pet grooming services of any kind for any breeds. Our service includes: natural shampoos, hand scissoring and styling, hand stripping and everything, what your pet need. The most important part of our philosophy is communication with the client. We think you want to know everything, what is going on with your friend. That is why we pay special attention to the health condition of your pet and in case of need alert a pet owner of possible problem.

History

Established in 1988.

I graduated SPCA Grooming College in 1985 and was working in different grooming shops in Bay Area, but kept looking for the opportunity to work for myself.

My wife and I have bought this business in 1989 after previous owners had abandoned it for two weeks and they left only the working phone.

We were working at that venue at Golden Gate way for first 5 year of our history in Lafayette.

We moved to 1018 Almanor Ln in Lafayette in September of 1994 and we still working at this place for the last 16 years.

I love them all: the red, blond, black silver, big, small, petite or fat. And my wife knows it. Besides, she love them the same way.

30 years ago I didn’t have anything against dogs. That was the extend of my relation to them, But the first year me and my wife started to live together I made a present for her birthday, as she asked me, the little white terrier. We did not have a money to buy a pure breed, so I went to SPCA to get something close.

The little white terrier very fast turns out to be a black with white apron on the chest. One thing was right: he was small… yet at 6 months. But he grew into 80 lb. German Shepard mix. The most smart and beautiful creature I have ever seen. That is how I’ve become a dog lover. That how it started.

We took our 6 yo dog to pampered paws for the first time today. He got the best hair cut of his life! Although the office is not what I had expected and the smell is definitely there, the pooch was really well taken care of and was not at all stressed when we picked him up. The groomers are very professional, love animals and definitely know what they are doing.

I’m not sure how all these reviewers are leaving out the biggest problem with this establishment — unorganized, smelly, messy, unprofessional, sketchy and dirty. I moved to the area, in need of a groomer so I stopped in to check out their place, and I couldn’t believe my eyes, thought I was in a different third world country, not Lafayette. The overall condition of this business is absolutely unacceptable, I’m not sure how they pass any city codes. They may be nice people, but way, way too dirty. They should consider cleaning up their act, and probably have more success, I would never expose myself or my pooch to that type if environment.

Took my Schipperke-​Dachshund mix and French Bulldog for a wash, nail clipping and anal gland and ear cleaning: $ 35 each $ 70 total. My boys were eager to get in the door and we’re excited to meet Oleg the groomer. This place has a very homey feel and not the most updated or organized place, which is why I think my dogs were so excited to go in. It’s not like a bright and cold Petco (which we have used in the past).
Oleg and his wife did a great job. When we picked the boys up they looked great, nice and fluffy, perfectly clipped paws and smelled good too! Thanks Pampered Paws !

Brought my adult pekingese mix to Pampered Paws for a shave. Oleg made sure to ask why I decided to do that & to advise me that the color of the coat may change once it grows back. He included nail trimming & flea bath in their session & didn’t overcharge me. My dog was free of nicks when I picked him up & now 2months later his coat has grown back evenly.

Really pleased with the experience here. I brought my dog in for a bath and brushing in the hopes that a groomer could help with his over abundance of winter hair. Now, his hair looks great and it isn’t all over the floor! Additionally, I want to thank them for being gentle with Pumba, his black nails make it very difficult to trim without hitting a quick and he is very uncomfortable when someone tries to trim them. I’m glad that they listened to me and didn’t try to force a trimming on a squirmy dog. Finally, I want to thank them for recommending a better brush for when his shedding resumes. Again, great experience and Oleg is a pleasure to speak with!

Never judge a book by its cover! First thing to make clear: I have never been to a pet groomers that smells like roses and sunshine; I think those who are complaining about such ridiculous things probably are individuals who also believe their farts smell like rainbows and unicorns.
The owners are friendly and professional. You can tell they genuinely love animals. Throughout my 20+ years of living in Orinda, I will always bring my fluffy family members here.

Oleg and his wife took a lot of time with my 10-​month-​old, sensitive standard poodle at her first professional grooming and, while she was already a head-​turner, their bathing, trimming and blow-​dry turned her into such a stunning beauty that numerous walkers we passed on the trail the next day commented on how gorgeous her coat was. I returned the next day with my older poodle and plan to bring both monthly.

I took my Standard Schnauzer, Haddy to Pampered Paws for the first time yesterday, 6.5÷13. I looked online for someone in Lafayette/​Martinez/​Concord area. I read all of the reviews given for Pampered Paws and only one was negative. It did not bother me as everyone else had wonderful things to say. I took her to Oleg, she fell in love with him. He with her. When I picked her up I was absolutely amazed how beautiful she looked. She looked just like I had pictured I wanted her to. He had to adjust what had been done before by the previous groomer but I am very happy with the job he did. Oleg has a very good knowledge of his subjects. Good Going Oleg we will be back!

We took our 2 dogs, Pumpkin and Paco after months of not getting groomed. Our last grooming experience ended horribly. Their haircuts were plainly uneven and they shaved off all around the eyes and nose and it took forever to grow back properly. I write about this experience here merely so you can appreciate how grateful I am for our recent experience with Pampered Paws. Our dogs have never looked better and happier!
All in all, this was such a great experience. Sooo happy to have found a place where I can leave our dogs and know that they are in good hands. We will definitely be back each month!

I have two long haired dogs with thick undercoats. Oleg uses products which make them tangle free and clean looking for weeks. He gets out tangles, rather than cut them out. Every inch of our dogs is attended to, rather than just bathing and brushing. My dogs are happy to be groomed and relaxed and happy when we pick them up.
I was a little concerned over the price and the fact that it was late in the day for my dogs to still be at the groomers, however; a week later I looked at my dogs and realized that you get what you pay for. They still looked as if they had just left Pampered Paws.

Would give 5 stars but for not always being on time. My two dogs are problem dogs and need special TLC. Oleg is stern but loving with them and even files my old guy’s nails because he won’t tolerate having them clipped or dremeled any more. They are true dog lovers here and while the facilities aren’t fancy, the care and grooming is top notch! The dogs get walked and watered during the day and my two absolutely love both Oleg and his wife… even if not the grooming itself.

We discovered Pampered Paws out of a need to get our two dogs groomed. They came back with the best grooming ever. I didn’t think prior to this that there would be much difference between groomers but Oleg stood out over anyone that we have used over the past 30 years of owning dogs.

First impression, the place was messy and dirty. At the designated time, I went to pick up my dog. He was still wet and I had to wait an additional 30 minutes before he was done. When I got him the smell of chemicals was so intense, I could barely stand it. Plus, to this day, my dog cringes when I try to trim his nails. I know this fear stems from Oleg’s rough and impatient handling of my Golden. I never went back. There are other places where patience and love is shown to my friendly and energetic dog.

IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG, AVOID THIS PLACE!!! We stopped using this place a long time ago. The owner is very disorganized and can never give you any idea when your dog will be ready. Even when he gives you a time, he is often late. He won’t call you. You have to call him. WORSE, the place is filthy. My dog got infections several times before we stopped using this place.

When my wife and I purchased our Wheaten Terrier, Maggie, we started looking for a groomer near us. It was not an easy task since a wheaten requires a special cut. Finally we found Oleg at Pampered Paws. When we brought her there, he told us, «Why do you want to cut her hair? She will never have this color hair again, let me give her a good bath and combing» I couldn’t believe how honest he was. We now have been going there for 6 years and couldn’t be happier.
The quality of work is excellent, the price is very reasonable and the real testimonial is that our dog loves to go there even though she hates to be combed when we do it. Oleg is definitely doing something right because she loves him.
Oleg and his wife have become part of our family and I would recommend anyone to bring their dog here.

We have an Aussie/​Border Collie mix yes double coat and very long hair. Early summer we take Presley in to have him shaved which he seems to greatly appreciate during the hot summer months. Of the half dozen grooming salons we have taken him to in our area he inevitably has come back with an uneven cut, nicked, and in one instance bleeding basically butchered. Pampered Paws may not be the prettiest looking salon around but in the four years now we have been taking our dog to Oleg he has done a superb job even clean shave and not one nick.

I have a Tibetian Terrier. She has been going to Pampered Paws for the last 4 years. Oleg the owner and groomer is very knowledgeable and experienced. My dog actually wags her tail when she comes up to the door to be dropped off.
