Struttin Pup

I took my cairn terrier here a few weeks ago for a full grooming. Since this was the first visit, I spent some time with the groomer discussing what cut I was looking for and even showed her pictures. 45 minutes later I received a call that my terrier was ready for pick-​up. I was very unhappy with the grooming. Her coat was uneven, the legs had not been touched, her nails were not trimmed. I spoke to the cashier and the groomer about my complaints but my words fell on deaf ears. So I requested that the owner call me the next day. I’m still waiting. Thank goodness there are plenty of grooming alternatives in my area.

We bring our pup here for her nails. They are super friendly. Our little girl isn’t always the most cooperative, and alway do a good job anyways. I recommend this place to anybody looking for nail trimming, food, or treats.

I took my Goldendoodle here on August 15^th for a grooming, made my appointment in advance and took him in and gave my scheduled groomer instructions as to what I wanted done. I paid in advance and the service was supposed to be full service including a nail trim. I got a call saying my dog was ready and went in to pick him up, I heard the counter person tell the person who was going to the back to get the groomer that they’d switched groomers because someone else came in and requested the one I had scheduled. When my dog came out I noticed immediately that she hadn’t trimmed around his eyes the way I asked and asked her to go back and re-​do it. She came back out and it was marginally better so I took him and left. After I got home, I noticed that she didn’t trim his nails or pluck the long hairs out of his ears, he had a large gap in the cut under the tail and the entire cut was uneven. I called back and asked to speak to the manager and was told she wasn’t in, I described my problem and was told she’d call me the next morning. Within 5 min after I hung up, the groomer who’d done the poor job called me apologizing and asking me to bring him in and let her «fix it». Why would I want to do that when she’d done a terrible job to start with? I waited around for the manager to call the next day and she never called back so I called them, the problem groomer answered the phone and put me on hold after I asked to speak to the manager and no one ever came back on the line — I waited 10 minutes. The next day I called again and got the same, leave a message and she’ll call you — that’s been weeks ago and they have never called.
So, I’m out $ 100 for a terrible grooming job, and the manager can’t be bothered to call me. I’ll be going somewhere else from now on.

We love it here! There are groomers to make your dogs beautiful. However, if you have two little mutts like ours you may prefer the washing stations for rent in the back. They give you everything, you just bring the dogs. Choose from the shampoo of choice that works best for your dog and their skin. They also provide towels, brushes and dryers to use on your dog. In addition to great grooming services there is a large selection of quality treats and food for your pets. We like the selection of toys and bones. Both are good prices compared to other boutique pet stores. There is a very good selection too!

We just added a furry, four-​legged family member to our household and we wanted to give Sherman a proper welcome to his new life with us. We asked the fine folks at Struttin’ Pup to help us put together a gift basket. Not only did they make an awesome basket full of everything from toys to snacks, they clearly enjoyed helping us make it perfect for our little guy. They asked us all sorts of questions about Sherman so they could pick out things he may enjoy.
I’m writing this review a couple months after our purchase and the squeaky monkey and pull toy are still his favorites. I also like that the food they chose for him was all natural and healthy.
I’m very surprised at the one star reviews as our experience was really over the top. I highly recommend visiting Struttin Pup and treating your pets to real, healthy food and a great customer experience. You have a customer for life here! A big thank you to all the caring people at Struttin Pup!

unwanted flyers on our house. this unsolicited garbage does not make me happy. no way will i recommend this place, and hopefully they stop with all these flyers that simply create garbage and is bad for the environment.

I really did want to like this place. I just had my second really awful experience here and finally decided it was time to throw in the towel with this place and write up a review.
The first experience, I brought my dogs in for nail trims. I was loitering around the store waiting for older dog to finish up and I started to hear the groomer talking to him. First, she was saying stuff like «oh my God, come on! Stay still» etc. After a few seconds of mumbling grumpily she actually started to yell at him, and I’m not talking a stern command to stay or sit. I’m talking actual angry yelling.
She was yelling «STOP!» and as I peeked around the corner there was old dog looking away, trembling in terror and pulling his paw away from her. He is super sensitive to anger and, surprise, doesn’t respond well to it, so her yelling at him to «stop» was actually making him more afraid and making it a whole lot more difficult. She kept yelling ‘JUST STOP!’ and other things the whole rest of the time. I was too shocked and don’t like confrontation, so I just took my dog and left.
The second time, I took them in for nails again. I always do the filing since I have hardwood floors. I reminded the groomer of this. Well, I pay, get dogs home, and start petting old dog and find most of his nails are rough, sharp, and jagged. If none were filed I would think maybe she forgot, but this horrible half-​done job says to me that she didn’t want to deal with my «difficult» dog anymore and just quit. She didn’t say a word other than that my dogs didn’t like it and she let me pay for a service that she knew she didn’t finish.
I have taken old dog to a groomer for 10 years in my old state, and had one groomer in Longmont before moving here. I always asked about the nail trims and the groomers always told me he does just fine. In 10 years I’ve never had a groomer say anything bad about it. At Struttin’ Pup, he’s been yelled at and he’s come out unfinished. It seems to go along with some of these other reviews about their staff just being rude and unprofessional.
I’ll be making an extra long drive from now on to take my dog to Longmont where the groomer is professional, actually does his job, and treats my dog well.

I am on the fence about Struttin Pup. The self wash tubs are great & I appreciate them although they are often not well cleaned & I have emerged from there flea bitten. Fortunately the fleas only bit me, my dogs were ok. On occasion I get good customer service (Ginny is a treasure) but usually the staff is very unaccomodating and even downright rude. When I called this morning to see if there was a tub open the phone was picked up but no one said anything. A strange and unfriendly way to conduct a business. I will still go there for the self wash tubs but really nearby Bark Avenue is the better place for healthy foods and treats and has a staff that actually knows how to fit coats, harnesses, collars, etc.

Stumbled on this place by accident when I was going to lunch with my boyfriend near the YMCA. I live in Denver and he’s in Boulder Co so I asked him if he new of a self-​serve dog wash in Lafayette… an he told me about this place. It’s nice, clean, and great staff. Score! When I went to pay, to my surprise it wa Half Price Wednesday so a wash for a 70 lbs dog was only $ 6. Even $ 12 is a bargain compared to Denver and way cleaner than places like Muddy Paws. I’m thinking a standing lunch date with the boyfriend and bath for the pooch will be my new Wednesday tradition. Love this place.

We’ve had good experience with the groomers several times. They are very reasonable and accommodate as much as possible with cancellation calls.

We took our rescue pup there last July. (We have been to another groomer since and realized how great the Struttin’ Pup groomer is.) They had me bring him in to an early appt so he wouldn’t be stressed by other dogs. The groomer only took an hour and did a GREAT job. Cost was $ 40.

I have been visiting Struttin’ Pup for over a year, and would not go anywhere else for dog supplies! They have an awesome selection of healthy dog food and dog products. Struttin’ Pup is a great place to find whatever you need for your dog, the staff there is always friendly and will help you with anything you need!

We’ve taken our dog here numerous times to have his nails trimmed. Upon getting him home after the most recent time, we inspect the job and find that many of the nails haven’t even been touched.
I called to complain, only to be informed that their groomers had all left (it’s hours before they close) and the gentlemen I was speaking to hung up on me. Safe to say, we won’t be returning.

Don’t let my dog read this, she still looks at me pitifully as if I took away her toy after washing her yesterday!
I’ve got a shedder not a groomer so I just go in and wash her — I have no experience with their grooming service.
Baths are clean, large selection of shampoos, and they have aprons.
Yeah, the snacks are overpriced and the same brand of dehydrated treats is down the road for half the price at Sunflower, but I sure do love having a place to wash my dog.
She can get pretty stinky, but of course she wouldn’t go in the car after rolling in an inside-​out toad, and a pre-​wash is needed at home for those instances… But she is so sofffffft! I don’t know what is in that shampoo, but my dogs fur feels like a cloud!
I think getting the bath half price with Chinook Book make me feel even better about the trip (: $ 6 for supply and water use. And she got to sample a yummy fancy treat.

This place is close to my parents’ house, and my dog and I were visiting from out of town. We stopped by to pick up some food and treats for our stay, and the employees were more interested in hanging out with each other than helping their customers. The selection was decent and we were given an obligatory «can I help you with anything?» upon arriving, but that was pretty much it.
When I went to purchase my items, the cashier barely even looked at me. She rung up my items, and spent her time chatting with the other employees. I sat there waiting for a receipt to sign, while another employee walked in the door and they all chatted. After standing there awkwardly, I asked if I needed to sign, and they said no. I felt like I had intruded on a club that I didn’t belong to.

Wow, I’m surprised to see bad reviews here. I have been frequenting Struttin Pup for years and have always had fantastic service. They have great products available for pets and the dogwash system is great. (no extra charges for towels or shampoo like some other places)
The employees are extremely friendly and many have worked there for years, which says something about the management.

I love this place. I will not go anywhere else.
Struttin Pups has the best selection of healthy pet food and pet products and their prices are cheaper than surrounding stores.
The staff has always been friendly and helpful.
It doesn’t get any better than Struttin’ Pups.

This place is horrible! Not only were the groomers here incompetent but the owners were just plain rude! Also everything at this store is extremely over priced. Honestly, you’d be better off going to Petco or one of the very similar stores minutes away from here.

This is a review about their customer service, or lack thereof. My dog has been groomed here previously so I called today (Monday 21 at 1:05) to see if they had an opening today.
After 5 rings someone picked up the phone and placed it back down. I heard silence but was still connected so I waited thinking it was a mistake. Again someone picks it up and places it back down before I could speak. 3 more times they did this with me saying HELLO and finally the last time I asked if they were closed and I was met with a click. Still connected on the call I hung up and called back. This time I was met with a recording which gave the hours they are open (9:30−6:30 means they were SUPPOSED to be open) and I was invited to leave a message. I left a message that indicates how rude and unprofessional it is to try to hang up on a customer that many times.
Honestly, a statement of «we’re at lunch» or «we’re closed today» would have sufficed.
I will not be back and I don’t encourage anyone else to either.

We love Struttin Pup and especially Melissa! She is one of their groomers that always grooms our two miniature schnauzers, Murphy and Milo. They always look so handsome when she is finished!
They have great treats and food too. Can’t wait to see Struttin Pup in their new, larger facility.
