I started The Purple Poppy as a way of sharing my love of home décor and furniture with my customers. The chick stuff galore has just been a natural addition over the years… my customers want to shop for their homes, as well as shopping for cool unique gifts for their friends… and they want it all in one space.

My inspiration for opening the Purple Poppy was fueled by my own desire for the type of products we carry, and the lack of a venue in Lafayette that served these tastes. As I selected the items that define the Purple Poppy, I also took care to see that customers of all ages and budgets will be able to find something they love. My goal is to constantly bring in new merchandise that appeals to a broad range of tastes in order to keep the look and feel of The Purple Poppy fresh, and to become one of your favorite shops.

When I need a special gift for a client, party or a friend this is where I go! There is quite the selection of home goods including dishes, utensils, oils, soaps and jams. They recently made us the most beautiful basket which we donated to a local auction. There was a good selection and it looked beautiful!

The Purple Poppy is just a great place, especially for cool costume jewelry, neat little kitchen stuff, silly cards, and Miss Magoo skirts. I LOVE the skirts. They will measure you, and then make the skirt, and this is terrific for those of us who aren’t blessed with normal sized bodies.

The Purple Poppy is my go to place for all sorts of gifts. I love their lines of home accessories — including the new United States kitchen towels and TAG items for all seasons. So cute! I often ask for recommendations for a gift and I have always loved their suggestions. They have lots of unique options.
For myself, I also love their extensive line of Miss Magoo skirts and scarves. The best place to find this great line of handcrafted clothing.
They have such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It is always fun to shop there!
