We have ASE master technicians with factory training, and accept all transmission and engine problems.

Body Shop:

From small dents to large repairs including frame and body alignment. We use PPG’s latest water-​based paint system to protect the environment.

I took my 1995 Suburban with 207,000 miles to have the hood painted, grill replaced and lights polished. What a great job. Johnny made my 20 year old truck look like new. And he was very reasonable priced and delivered on time.
The important thing is that Johnny exceeded my expectations.
I would recommend him highly.

My Saab is actually a Saabaru, but this shop was on the approved list when it was time for my airbag recall work to get done. Made an 8am appointment on the first available day. They started work immediately, and got it done in the promised time interval, including an extra task of a elective sensor replacement. Nice guys, fair price, finished the work in the time estimated and got me on my way.

I took my car in for three minor repairs, one of which was going to be paid by another person’s insurance. Johnny was responsive, courteous, and helpful through the whole process and even agreed to do the work for the amount the insurance company gave me, which was about $ 100 lower than his estimate. On top of that, he gave me a discount on the other repairs and put the car through a complimentary wash when it was finished.
Overall excellent service. I would definitely go back.

Johnny (and Mikey?) were terrific! Super personable and helpful guys. Prices that compete with ANYTHING in greater Bay Area. I went there for minor body work, in the future will be bringing back my cars for things like oil changes, break pad repairs, etc.

When you take your car into Svensson Autobody, you immediately connect with the person who is going to repair your and convince you that satisfaction is guaranteed. Johnny Sanchez did just that. He did an excellent job on repairs and even added a bonus to repairing other scratches and dents. He has a wonderful manner about him and after taking my car to other shops, I instinctively felt that this was the person I could trust. Johnny also discovered that there was more than what meets the eye when he examined the car. I highly recommend him should you be in need of body work. You will not be disappointed.

Have used Svenssons for many years for mechanical repair (Larry is great). Recently have used them for body work on my Audi. Johnny did great work, worked hard to get all necessary components at the best price, and best of all, the entire repair job was done in less than a week! Highly recommend, especially if you are footing the bill.

Stop searching for a quality mechanic because Svensson Automotive is what you are looking for. I brought my Saab 9 – 3 in for a loss of power problem that had troubled other mechanics. Larry diagnosed the problem and had the car up and running in a few days. The cost was less than I was expecting and my car has run great since… until I made the mistake of taking it into a Jiffy Lube in Castro Valley, when after leaving, some mild symptoms returned. I knew who to call. Larry at Svensson got me in quickly and that Friday I drove up to Lafayette. He found the problem, a damaged vacuum tube (by the technician at Jiffy Lube). He was able to use glue to repair it and only charged me a small labor fee. My Saab is running great!
Friendly, knowledgable, reasonably priced… Don’t go anywhere else with your Saab or Volvo… Talk to Larry at Svensson.

Larry at Svenson’s is the best! I bought an older model bmw that needs a little TLC from time to time. I had a water pump and thermostat go out and they diagnosed and repaired it on the same day for exactly the cost quoted. But what I also appreciate about Larry is that he is so customer oriented. I just brought my old BMW there today when I had trouble replacing a brake light. Larry whipped out his plyers, got the part out without breaking it, and replaced the bulb I could not, just like that. He would not take any renumeration, just said «Have a nice day».
Bring your car here for all repairs, large or small! Larry will treat you right!

Larry Svensson is one of the most honest individuals in the world. He always tries to find the best solution for the least amount of money and time. He has gone far beyond the call of duty on a couple of occasions, calling junkyards and other shops to find parts for my old Volvo. I have been taking my car there for 2 – 3 years and have always had a good experrience.

I happened to have two cars needing auto body work in the last three weeks. I brought the first car to Johnny at Svensson’s in Lafayette, and he did a same day cost efficient replacement of my side view mirror for a very reasonable price. He also touched up a related scratch on that side of the car without my even asking (for free). The next week I brought in my second car for a more extensive repair. Again, Johnny went above and beyond in repairing the job and giving me a very reasonable price for the work, several hundred dollars less than the other quote I got. Both cars look great! While I hope that I will not need any more auto body work for a long time, at least when I do I will know where to go.

Great at bodywork, great mechanical work my on Saab. Larry is honest and trustworthy, as well as being pleasant and helpful. Last body work was terrific, and they cleaned the car inside and out, windows included, and WAXED the outside at no charge. I brought my 2007 Saab convertible over to Lafayette from SF because I had heard of Svennson and they work on Saab’s which are no longer made. Larry Nelsons met me both times and he and his automotive mechanics had my Saab purring. Larry keeps you informed as to the problem with the car and how they are dealing with it.
Svennson is well worth it for not only the quality of the work, but VERY reasonably priced. Don’t think I would have gotten that in SF.

I cant say enough good things about my experience here. A week ago someone had hit my car and left a decent size dent in the front of my car. I went to a couple body shops in the area to get estimates. The customer service here was amazing the guy who did the body shop gave me an immediate estimate. Everywhere else I had a good 30 minute wait. The guy down the street told me 4 days and 1300 dollars to get my dent fixed. Svensson did it for nearly half that and the work was completed within a day and a half. I was able to pick up my car before work and the body shop even threw in a car wash and vacuuming out my car with no additional cost. I thought it was really nice of them ive never been to a mechanic thats done that. I would highly recommend anyone looking to get body work done to come to Svensson and give them a try. Hands down one of the best experiences Ive had with a mechanic shop in a long time.

As most people with a SAAB know it’s hard to find to find knowledgeble mechanics to service them. I have been to dealerships that totally overcharged and also had to deal with «attitude».
Larry at Svenssons is the best auto mechanic/​technician I’ve ever experienced. He is knowledgeable and honest, and a good guy. If there is a way to save some money he will explain it or if not he will just give you the bad news. The service and help Larry provides is like no other «shop» around. They are very busy and for good reason.

If you own a Saab and live on the Lafayette side of the tunnel, this is the only place you’re ever going to need to service your car. Larry, the manager, is customer focused, honest and extremely knowledgeable. Great service performed quickly, fair/​honest pricing… what more can you ask for? This place is awesome; highly recommend!
