Illuminated Concepts

We recently had our front and backyard professionally lighted by Illuminated Concepts. Prior to that we had low voltage Malibu lights that were installed 17 years ago. Chuck and his crew are very detail oriented, especially with the placement and angles of the lights to maximize the effect. We could not believe the difference! You really cannot compare them. The new LED lights illuminate the palm trees, shrubs, barbecue areas, garage doors etc. Our house at night looks so much classier. Chuck asked us what we wanted in the way of lighting as we all walked around the house. He then came back with the drawing of our house and what type of lighting would look best. He is a professional and he knows what he’s doing to make your house and yard look its best. When he was finished it was exactly what we agreed to and it even exceeded our expectations. He is very honest and not pushy in any way. It ended up being one of the best things we ever did to our home. Our only regret is that we didn’t do it sooner. Another thing that we liked about going with Illuminated Concepts was that he offered a maintenance plan where they will come out once a year and fine-​tune the lights if the plants have grown around them or if the bulbs need to be replaced or the glass needs cleaning etc. My husband wanted nothing more to do with maintaining outdoor lighting and we’re grateful that Chuck offered this.

It took us a very long time to find someone who specialized in Landscape Lighting only.
There are mainly two ends of the spectrum for this kind of work… Most companies address the landscape lighting as part of an overall landscape front/​backyard design project and the other kind are independent one person operation that are a shot in the dark.
Being a member of Angies List did not help in this case as again this was an embedded service from full-​scale landscape companies.
It was by searching on Unilocal that we found Illuminated Concepts and made a call.
I liked the smart and efficient name and calling into the office and speaking to Wanda, the manager made me feel I was on the right track.
Chuck, the owner, came by at an appointed time and went over both our needs and our budget at the time. We wanted the installation to address our front yard at this point in time and if at all possible, before Halloween. With tremendous breath of experience in this kind of work, Chuck made an effective plan to maximize light impact, keeping in mind our budget and scope of work.
The estimate came out to a competitive bid on the project by another company we had worked with previously. That previous company had done a partial work on our property and done a fairly poor job overall in hindsight, which is why we did not return to them this time around.
Chuck and his team actually moved their schedule to accommodate our request for the prior-​to-​Halloween install.
Jason and Alijo came in with Chuck the day of… They worked almost 2 full days to complete the excellent visual layout. Both were thorough professionals, respectful of the property and the neighbors with regard to their time here. They began and finished the project in one go which is not always what might happen, with other companies.
It has been a pleasure to work with them too.
Overall, I give Chuck and Illuminated Concepts a full five stars because of:
*The high level of professionalism from the start to the end of the project.
*The fixtures used were of high grade bronze metal, which was at once elegant and strong.
*Price point was about right for what we had in mind to spend on this aspect of our yard at the
time.
*Everyone in the organization works in tandem with one and another and that shows in the execution of the project.
*Chuck’s visual layout translated to a beautiful, well lit yard that got us many compliments
from the parents who stopped by with their kids for the Trick or Treat on Halloween!

Thrilled with an outdoor lighting project just completed at my residence by Illuminated Concepts! Chuck provided the vision behind the design and layout and his team did the rest. Competitive bid that did not change a penny at completion of the project. Project started and completed during the time frame promised. Good looking and functional LED fixtures. The lighting has increased the safety, beauty, and functionality of my yard considerably! Look these guys up if you are considering sprucing up your outdoor lighting!

I am extremely happy with not only the end result of my landscape lighting project, but I feel that I got a great deal and also trust that if I have any issues in the future with the products or labor I will be taken care of. Chuck, the owner of the company, come out to my house and was very nice and easy to work with. We went over what I wanted done, and stressed I needed it done in a timely matter to coincide with a new driveway and porch paver installation I was doing, because of the need to run wiring and conduit under everything. Chuck was very flexible with this timing, and was very responsive via text message and phone calls.
Chuck’s design and vision of how the lighting should look on my house was also right on the money. He used top grade LED fixtures, most of which are a nice metal housing in Oil Rubbed Bronze finish. Also, one of the guys who was working on the stone veneer for a planter outside my house accidentally cut and destroyed one of the electrical cables he ran, and Chuck sent a guy out at no charge to repair this wire… that is a testament to their customer service and the desire to make a customer happy. Overall, dealing with dozens of contractors over the years I would rate Chuck & his company Illuminated Concepts as one of the best I have hired, period. Thanks again man!

Chuck and his staff did a great job lighting up the front entrances and trees at our condo complex in Dana Point. He used warm LED lighting that looks great, and are low cost and low maintenance.
