Art E Studio is a dedicated art school focusing on teaching children and adults the fine art of oil and acrylic painting. The instructor, Darice Machel McGuire has over 30 years experience in fine arts. She leads her students through the basic process of creating a painting, helping each student achieve their goals and encouraging them to expand their skills by trying new techniques.

History

Established in 2003.

Art E Studio started as a once a week night class in a Frame shop in Chico California in 2003. With in a few years it grew to 12 classes a week with over 40 students coming every week. The classes were two hours long each and focused on the fine art of oil and acrylic painting.

Today Art E Studio makes it’s home on the beautiful island of Maui in the wonderful Town of Lahaina. The amount of inspiration and creativity seems endless as Darice Machel McGuire, Art E Studio’s owner and instructor, continues to grow and expanded in her beloved Island home.

Art has always been in my life. I paint and teach painting. My paintings come from four basic styles: Impressionistic-​Realism; Impressionism done in the impesto technique using a palette knife: Image-​Within-​An-​Image using a combination of realism and impressionism; and Sculpture on a canvas using a sand/​gesso mix. My formative years as a painter were heavily guided by Sally Seago, Howard Rees, Bill Blackman and my mother Lola Owen. From them I learned varying styles which I have adapted from to create my work and teach to others. You can view the work of my students at www. art​-​e​-stu​dio​.net
