We carry a full line of Bullseye and CBS Dichroic glass, Skutt kilns, and a variety of other art glass needs. We happily ship to neighbor islands.

History

Established in 2006.

In 2006, Akimbo Studios was established in the Pacific Northwest — the heart of the kilnformed glass movement. In the beginning of 2010, we moved the studio to Maui, baby! We are now a Bullseye Glass Kilnforming Resource center and THE place to go in Hawaii for quality glass art education and supplies. Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Always a frustrated artist, I worked in a Fortune 500 environment for years before returning to school to become a Middle-​School teacher. There is no better (or harder) job in the world. Glass has always fascinated me; I’m drawn to it on so many levels. About ten years ago I found a small gallery in my small town, and I learned how to melt glass in a kiln. An obsession was born! Taking a leave of absence from teaching, as well as a huge leap of faith, I moved to the Pacific Northwest (the hub for the kiln-​formed glass movement) and became part of a dynamic, creative, collaborative community where the boundaries of glass and glass art are being explored and stretched constantly.

2010 was a huge year for me with my first Museum Exhibition (Coos Bay Art Museum) and first Solo and Featured Exhibitions. Opening the Bullseye Kilnforming Resource Center on Maui along with Akimbo Studios has been a exciting part of this year also.
