We stayed 6 days, 7 nights for our honeymoon, everything about this place was perfection. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to Maui!

I really wanted to like everything about this place but there were a few things that kept me from doing so that I will mention. First off, the location is the best Maui has to offer. The condo was nice. Nice tennis courts. We booked an ocean view and received sort of a half ocean view. I was disappointed. I felt they pawned off our view as ocean when our neighbors deck blocked half of it. The décor is outdated. From the 80s/90s. We had a picture in our bathroom that had written on it «1982.» There is only ONE hot tub. In the spa area that is only open until 7pm. When I stay somewhere, I expect to have an open hot tub at least until 9pm. The way they divided up the cost of staying was weird by charging for both a resort fee and a cleaning fee separately from our initial fee to stay. I felt nickel and dimed and I HATE that. Just charge everything as one! We rented mopeds and they had a weird rule about not allowing them near the villas. Strange. My wife and I are part of the upper income population but don’t look it. If your looking to have a very conservative vacation with a lot if rules, this is the place. We were looking for more flexibility. Won’t stay again. Mainly because of the hot tub issue.

Kapalua community is hands-down the crown jewel of Maui, or maybe one of two the other being Haleakala. I’ve stayed in Wailea, Kaanapali and Lahaina on Maui and by far my family and myself still love kapalua the best without doubt. The community is very well developed and maintained than anywhere in Lahaina or Kaanapali yet the location is more convenient than Wailea. There are many accommodations in this community. We’ve stayed in the ridge villas twice because we like the ocean view. It is really a full 180 degree ocean view since the villas are on the ridge, not a peep of the ocean or what so ever. There are also golf villas and ocean front villas if you are into those or Ritz out there if you are more of a hotel guy or dates. For activities, beach is right in front of the properties. Turtles are out there in the bay if you snorkel. Whales are visible when they are in Maui. I’ve seen people stand-paddling to very close proximity of whales to interact. I don’t have the gut to do that tho. No doubt there are places to feed you after an all-you-can’t-eat snorkeling afternoon. Pineapple grill is our fav for dinner and breakfast. Really think it’s way better than Merriman tho it’s my own one man’s meat. Plus Merriman only open for dinner. The sushi restaurant is good as well but it’s usually busy. There are also good places in Napali area even within walk distance. All in all, if Maui is the best part of Hawaii then kapalua is the best of the best on Maui. I will probably still stay here for our 4th trip to Maui and so 4th. It’s just so beautiful so relaxing and make you feel like heaven should be developed in this way as well.

We’ve stayed here 7 or 8 times, we just love the rugged beauty of the northern shore of western Maui. These condos are older, but most have been renovated — granite counters and stainless steel appliances. It will cost you, but stay ocean front — you will see whales from your living room and hear the crashing of waves while you sleep. People who say that you don’t spend a lot of time in your room aren’t staying at the right places — there’s no need to leave this resort!

We stayed in a one bedrooms full ocean front villa and loved loved the views. The villa we had was a bit outdated but the views made up for the fact it was outdated. It was very comfortable and had all the amenities we were looking for. It did have AC but we never used it and never needed to if you open all the windows to take advantage of the Hawaiian trade winds. I do understand that the«Gold» villas are recently renovated if you are looking for something newer. So be sure to reserve that if that is what you are looking for. The facility had plenty of restaurants within a few miles of each other. There is a Ritz Carlton hotel on the property which also had some very nice restaurants. It does have three pools and tennis courts. They have a great fitness center which offers a variety of classes including yoga. We saw a huge turtle in the ocean while taking a walk along the ocean side trail which goes for a few miles. I would defiantly stay here again.

Whenever we go to kapalua we stay in the villas, they are gorgeous, just as the other review this is not a hotel, you do have access to the ritz Carlton which is on property but these are villas with everything you could ever want and need to relax Hawaiian style! Pools throughout the property and views galore, super clean, staff super friendly I would highly recommend the villas to anyone going to Maui!

The Kapalua Villas DESTROYSEXPENSIVE hotel rooms! Arriving on the last flight into Maui, starving & failing to find an open place to eat at AND locking my keys in the trunk of my rental… i finally made it to the Kapalua Villas. it was very late & well past my check in time, but the girl at the desk was BEYOND warm & friendly. With the turn of a key(of my golf villa 22p6) i was SWEPTOVER with an IMMENSE shock and disbelief at how amazingly nice my villa was. i had to call the front desk to make sure they gave me the right room… this place was MASSIVE! 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 patios, full service kitchen(sub zero fridge, ge monogram stove top & dishwasher), 50″ sony flat screen TV in the living room with 37″ flat screens in each bedroom, free wifi, hardwood floors, multi-person shower, 2 person tub, walk in closet with wine rack, ceiling to floor mirrors and a master bedroom w/french doors and a view of the ocean from bed… I IMMEDIATELYWASINLOVEWITHMYVILLA… i can’t begin to tell you how amazingly relaxing my stay was. everything was top notch from the TV’s(ie: sony &LG) to the kitchen appliances to the 1000 thread count sheets on a pillow top mattress… this room easily made me forget about the bad parts of my trip… and drowned me in complete and utter 1st class luxurious comfort… i think the villa was about 1000+sq. ft. and for what you pay to rent a villa versus the cost of a 400 sq. ft. hotel ROOM, hands down Kapalua Villas is the WINNER!!! check out my video: RECAP: — AMAZINGVALUE for rental fee… i wasn’t renting a hotel room, i was renting a VERYNICEHOME! also felt like i was in the middle of the forest! — NOTHINGBADABOUTTHEHOTEL but the distance from various night life, lack of movie theatre, not really a spot for someone wanting to boogie at night… — BEAUTIFULBEAUTIFULBEAUTIFUL… definitely for the person who wishes to be lost and away from fast paced civilization…
