History

Established in 1976.

K.O. Automotive first opened in Mission Viejo in 1976. It was started by Kurt Ortell (K.O.). Around 1984, Kurt sold the business to his son in law Steve King. Steve moved the business to Lake Forest in 1988. Steve sold the business to current owner Tony Padron in 1992.

K.O. Automotive was originally known as the place to go for Volkswagen service and repair. Tony Padron brought expertise in the Domestic and Asian car lines to K.O. Automotive in 1992. Over the past 22 years, K.O. Automotive has developed a loyal following with many customers using K.O. Automotive for all their service needs for over 20 years.

Just wanted to say thank you and let you know that the Steering Box (Redheadsteeringgears) works amazing! Taking some time to drive it now there is no slop in steering and it tracks 99.9% better. Steering shaft I believe also helped out, but thank you!

Tony and Gabriel are honest and truthful when it comes to fixing my car. FINALLY a mechanic that say’s it like it is. I live in Newport Beach and drive to Lake Forest to have these work on my car. Lexus dealership wanted $ 120.00 just to assess the problem and $ 270.00 for the parts. I brought my car to K.O. Automotive and Gabriel mentioned a place to buy parts and my husband and I bought the part refurbished for $ 59.00 and can install the part ourselves. Thank you Tony and Gabriel. I will come to you guys for the big stuff in the future.

Who likes taking their car in for service? No one! It’s a pain in the a$$! And it can blow all of your vacation money. But, you know what? These guys (Tony and Gabriel) make it a pretty pleasant experience. They’re honest, quick and do quality work. Now, I’m not saying that I’d rather be here than on a tropical beach sipping a Margarita. But, I am saying to only trust your car’s well being to KO Automotive!
