They wanted $ 350 to replace an O2 sensor. The sensor on the vehicle is in an easy to reach place; all that needs to be done is unplug it, unscrew it, screw in the new one, and plug it in. The part is around $ 100. So they wanted $ 250 for a 5 minute job. Needless to say, I did it myself. Previous work had been done on the vehicle by S&S, and after doing recent repairs, many shortcuts taken by them were discovered by myself. Smearing things in RTV, overtorqued fasteners, etc. It seems most people give good reviews because they don’t know any better; I know my family fell victim to that until I began doing all of the repair work myself, uncovering it all.

S & S Auto stands out, not only for their stellar and competent service but for their honesty and integrity as well. In a day and age where it is becoming more and more difficult to depend on people’s honor, S & S Auto has maintained a level of trust that cannot be surpassed. I highly recommend them.

An Honest and Competent repair shop. Other shops turn over their most difficult repairs to them. They charge a fair price and stand by their work. They have a loyal customer base that pays them for quality of work, convenience and peace of mind.
Their customers understand that S & S has to make a profit to stay in business in order to continue to serve them. They have been in business long enough to know to turn away business with potential problems, like customer provided parts or cars requiring more repair than the owner acknowledges. Hagglers, chiselers, pandora’s boxes, the unruly and unreasonable are directed elsewhere.

My family has been taking vehicles here for years. They are very accommodating when it comes to the needs of the customer. On occasions they have even shuttled me back home after dropping off my car for service. From oil changes to standard work, they go by the book. The pricing may seem steep for some, but for the quality of service you receive, the peace of mind in knowing your vehicle is in the care of professionals is worth it.

I never had service here but my friend always had for years. I know from my friend S and S always seemed a little expensive. Now I have a vehicle that needs a repair that I didn’t have time to do. I thought I would so I bought the parts from the Dodge dealer… still in the package. Called for an estimate and needless to say the guy was a royal prick on the phone. He said, «we don’t install customer parts… that’s how we make our money!» After that statement he pretty much hung up on me. What an a$$! I will NEVER go here! Not only that but I will ALWAYS tell anyone looking for a mechanic not to go here!

Best car place ever. I wouldn’t go anywhere else and I risk the awful drive all the way from Burbank to do it –and it’s worth it every time! They’ve never been wrong about my car, are diligent and timely with their work, and are honest with me about what needs to be done versus what can wait. They’re the only ‘car guys’ I can trust and the only ones I’ll go to from now on. I can’t recommend them enough.

We had taken our 2009 Toyota Highlander to a local dealership for 3 years and had relatively good luck… Then the extended warranty ran out. On the very first visit after that when I brought the car in for an oil change, the dealership told me that my shocks were leaking so bad that I would need to have them replaced. On a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being the best and 1 being the worst, mine were a 2. If they weren’t replaced soon, the tires (which were one year old) would also need to be replaced. The car had a little over 52,000 miles on it. The cost was going to be a little over $ 1,000. I made an appointment the following Monday since the dealership didn’t have the part and called a friend. The friend told me about S&S Automotive. I described the situation and they asked me to bring it in. They were wonderful. They took the car out for a test drive and look at the shocks and now here’s the good news… The shocks are in good shape and S&S saved me $ 1,000. They have gained a loyal customer.

So nice and accommodating checked battery for us without charge and told us where to go to get a cheaper battery. They have awesome customer service and we will definitely be back.

I have been going to S&S Auto for years and years. They are consistently great, honest and timely. Isn’t this what we all want out of a mechanic? If what you need is out of their range of expertise, they’ll let you know and refer you to someone equally reputable. They’ve gone out of the way to accommodate me and have gone the extra mile at times. If you need an honest mechanic who will fix what needs to be fixed and not a bunch of other things, here’s the place!!! I highly recommend S & S to anyone and everyone.

We discovered S&S many years ago and have been taking our vehicles there ever since. These guys are honest, friendly and really know their business. They work on a wide variety of cars and I’m always amazed at how familiar they are with the intricacies of so many makes and models. They always provide a very thorough explanation of the work they do and their customer service is top notch. Their prices are very reasonable and definitely much better than you will find at most dealerships.
I have always been very happy with the service and the prices at S&S and they have impressed me on many occasions by not charging for troubleshooting or routine checks on my vehicles. Bo and Gary are the best and I highly recommend their shop.

Gary and Bo have always been super helpful, explaining our options and we’ve never felt they were trying to sell us something that wasn’t necessary. I like these guys a lot. I use them for oil changes and all my engine/​mechanical work. They came as a referral from Bymar Tire & Brake (another quality shop). Both Bymar and S&S will tell you what you need –and what you don’t! And that is exactly what I want. They are friendly, quality people.

Hands down they are the best mechanics I’ve been to. I would drive up from San Diego to go to them because they do such a good job and I have been going to them for years. As a woman, I feel good going there and treated with respect — they don’t try to up sell you or trick you in to paying more then you need to and they explain things clearly. They are straight forward and honest which is what you want in a mechanic.
