Everyone at LasikPlus is extremely friendly and helpful. Every step of each part of the process was explained to me, and I felt confident and comfortable doing the lasik with them. The day after I already have better then perfect vision with no issues. My only regret is not having done it sooner!

I had a really great Lasik experience here. My first impression from my initial consult was that the staff was very friendly and professional. The center was also very clean. I felt like my consult was extremely thorough and informative. You can tell they know their stuff. I felt very comfortable with scheduling an appt for surgery right afterwards! The day of surgery went so smooth. I was there for about two hours, but the actual procedure was maybe 5 – 7 minutes. I just had my 3 week follow-​up exam and I can read the smallest line! I’ve had no issues thus far. I highly recommend getting your lasik done here… I was pretty nervous about it, but they really surpassed my expectations!

Best thing I ever did! It has been 3 months and my vision is ²⁰⁄₁₅. The doctors and staff are wonderful, they definitely make you comfortable. I have a friend I referred and she had lasik a month ago and she is also doing great. I would do it again. Love this place.

My experience here went beyond my expectation. The hospitality and friendliness eased the nerves of the entire procedure. The entire staff was knowledgeable, informative, and honest about the pros and cons. They truly care for your well being. During the actual surgery the Dr. and assistant was so gentle and soothing with their touch and their words that it made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. My wife was with me through the whole process and plans on having her eyes corrected here in a few months.

When I was told I needed glasses in 2014, I immediately asked about Lasik and was told that I needed to wait to see if my vision changed. In 2015 my optometrist gave me the nod for Lasik and I started researching the options in the Denver area. After learning that my vision insurance provided a discount for selecting LasikPlus, I decided to schedule a consultation with them first.
At the consultation, I was instructed to watch an introduction that thoroughly explains the Lasik process, then Johanna conducted several tests to see if I was a candidate for Lasik and finally I met with Dr. Bircham who handles the pre-​op and post-​op appointments, to discuss Lasik and determine what procedure was right for me. I was so impressed with how the consult was handled I decided I didn’t need to shop around any further and booked my appointment for surgery later that week.
On the day of the surgery, I signed in, finished some paperwork, took a Valium and waited my turn for the surgery. Dr. Straub and his technician were fabulous! Dr. Straub has been performing Lasik in the Denver area for a long time, well before he worked for LasikPlus. Anyway, he took a few minutes before to reexplain the procedure and put to rest any concerns that may be lingering. Then I went in for the surgery, had the eye numbing drops applied, and proceeded to have the surgery. It’s completely painless. I’m not sure how to describe it other than there is a slight pressure felt on the eyes in the first machine and then the second machine I saw colored light. The minor discomfort came when I woke up from the Valium-​induced nap. However waking up with perfect vision without glasses or contacts makes it worthwhile! Besides, the medicated drops help remedy that and my eyes felt normal by day 3.
I just had my 3 week post-​op appointment and I now have ²⁰⁄₁₅ vision! Having Lasik surgery was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my adult life and I would highly recommend LasikPlus to anyone who is considering the procedure.

Had LASIK done at this location last week. Despite the fact that my eyes had some irregularities which made my eyes a little more challenging, I had the wavefront laser and on my checkup second day I was already seeing ²⁰⁄₁₅ easily! My experience was great and the staff was professional and always courteous. The only challenge I’m having is that my eyes are extremely sensitive to light, which they were before the surgery. I was told up front that I may be more light sensitive after due to my pupils being huge. So it’s not anything I was unprepared for. I’ll be wearing sunglasses regularly and enjoying my near perfect vision! Thanks Dr Straub, Sarah, and Johanna!

They have a great staff. They put you at ease during the procedure. They answer all your questions without hesitation. I would recommend anyone coming here to get their LASIK done. They also don’t pressure you doing the procedure. Scheduling is easy and they don’t get annoyed if you reschedule 2 or more times, like I needed too.

I’ve been contemplating getting LASIK for years, but have always been just a little apprehensive. From the moment I walked through the door everyone made me feel so comfortable, just completely at ease. They were very thorough in their testing and explained every step of the way what they were looking at and why. The staff as well as the Doctor were more than willing to take the time to answer all of my questions and make sure that I felt fully comfortable with what was going to happen.
My procedure went extremely well, I had no complications, although I did have one question after the procedure and I called and they immediately put me on the phone with the Doctor and he willingly answered my questions and talked me through the problem that I was having.
LASIK was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself and I’m glad I went to LasikPlus. I highly recommend them!

I’m torn on this review. I can’t say enough great things about the doctors and staff at Lasik Plus. They were extremely helpful, friendly, and calming. From the first minute, I walked in there, I felt comfortable and welcomed. I never had to wait long and the surgery itself was quick and painless.
However, the results were not what I had expected. I had horrible vision with contact lens prescription of –9.50 and I went into my consult unsure if I would even qualify for the procedure. They told me about the risks and such and I followed the after care procedures as closely as possible, but I still haven’t had one day of clear vision since before the surgery over a month ago. During two of my post-​op consults, the doctors checked my eyes and said that dry eyes are contributing to the blurry vision. As recommended, I’m currently using the eye drops and gel drops, taking the recommended supplements and drinking about 128 ounces of water each day. I guess we’ll see if my vision clears up in the next few months.
Although my results are not ideal yet, I still give this place 5 stars. I’ve never been to a place with such a great staff and it seems like everyone else had better outcomes with their vision.

I cannot say enough good things about LasikPlus! At my initial consultation, everyone was warm, welcoming, and friendly. They were very thorough in their testing and happy to explain everything they were doing and testing for. Dr. Bircham was very friendly and knowledgeable about my current vision and how treatment would affect my eyes immediately and long term. The staff also did their best to find as many discounts as possible for me and supplied me with a variety of ways to finance the surgery if needed. They are clearly not out for money, but simply want to give others the gift of sight! On the day of surgery, everyone was friendly and relaxed which helped calm my nerves. Dr. Straub actually did my surgery, and he and the nurse in the surgery room were both so friendly and calming while still ensuring my comfort and safety. Dr. Straub and the nurse gave me updates throughout the procedure, and I appreciated their continual communication. Again, I cannot say enough good things about the doctors and staff at LasikPlus!!! At least go for a consultation and you’ll quickly be amazed at the service and knowledge of these folks!

I had Lasik done at LasikPlus Vision Center in August. I can only say the people at LasikPlus Vision Center are the best. They are caring and concerned and give you the best customer service. I have nothing but compliments for LasikPlus Vision Center.

I was referred here by 2 friends and my experience was just as amazing as theirs. The staff are exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, patient and caring. Johanna was great– she calmed my fears all along, giving me a big hug before my surgery. Dr. Straub was great, coaching the whole way before and throughout the procedure. I had an incredibly high prescription and everyone was right, this was life changing. I went home after my procedure and opened my eyes 4 hours later and could see. The next day (today) I went in for my follow up and have ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision. I can’t say enough good things about this team, they were phenomenal.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I had my procedure done yesterday and just finished with my follow up appointment. My vision is already ²⁰⁄₂₀ less than 24 hours after my surgery, and is on track to improve even a little bit more. As someone who had a really bad prescription, this is such an amazing change. The staff here is kind, professional, and fun. They made the whole process from start to finish so easy, and addressed all of my concerns, so that I felt completely comfortable. If you need to get LASIK done, go here! I whole-​heartedly recommend them!

Couldn’t be more happier with everything. Johanna was great, both Dr’s were great and the assistant in the procedure room explained everything step by step. They really made you feel comfortable! You WILL NOT be disappointed. Seriously just do it! I should have done this years ago!!!

I scheduled my consult online, went in and my nerves were almost calmed in a matter of moments. I honestly didn’t think I was a candidate for Lasik since I had an astigmatism. I did all my testing (and was honestly treated amazing by Chris!) and then I met with the Doctor. He was funny, great at calming my nerves, and explaining the process, AND explaining to me what the astigmatism was in such a way I never knew. I’ve had it since I was 5… so 20 years, and I finally got a decent answer lol.
I went to schedule my operation and assumed it was going to be a few months out… Nope, they were able to get my in, in one week from the day!
The day I came in they were pretty busy and had a couple of issues with patients so I ahd to wait a good hour before I was able to do my paperwork. Which was fine, I had to wait for my ride anyway. Johanna explained everything to me, was super kind and helpful. The doctor came out to get me and explained what he was doing step by step and I was so comfortable and confident in the procedure room.
I’m so thankful I was able to go through with this!

In and out with near-​zero waiting. I saw Gary Bircham, OD, for not being able to see closeup. First, my experience is pretty much the same as all the other 5-​star reviews. I went through the entire list of eye tests. In the end, I was told that I COULD have Lasik BUT reading glasses would still be required and that Lasik could fix my slightly less than perfect ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision but could not fix the farsightedness. Very honest group and will not try to game you for money. Thanks!!!

Just a few days ago I had my free, very thorough, consultation at this facility. All of the staff is exceptional — very well experienced, educated, helpful, and kind.
I scheduled my lasik appointment for a few days later — and had a wonderful experience.
It’s now been 6 – 8 hours post-​procedure (after the Valium induced nap they encourage). And I can see!
I had terrible vision before, I couldn’t see 6 inches in front of me without my glasses or contacts. This feels like a miracle!
I’m 27, and could not have done this procedure early enough! I recommend anyone thinking about it to just go do it. You won’t regret it for anything. I am so happy.
The procedure only took about 30 minutes in and out the door. The procedure itself only takes about 15 minutes. Your eyes are numbed, nothing touches you — you feel nothing. The laser does all the work. It’s incredible.
They say that it won’t hurt at all, and it doesn’t. The only thing is a slight burning sensation for about 30 – 60 minutes after the numbing drops wear off. But I just took a half of a Percocet when I got home and slept it off. Now that I’ve awoken — it’s well worth it and I feel no pain. I can just see everything — for the first time! So so excited and happy I did this. DO IT!

Had LASIK on 1÷9÷2015. I was terrified of the procedure, but after wearing glasses/​contacts for 15+ years, I figured I should take the plunge.

I went in for my consultation in November, they went through a TON of tests. Things I had never experienced at an eye doctor appointment. It was a VERY complete examination testing my Rx, corneal thickness, eye wetting etc etc. I had a total meltdown during the consultation when they went to put drops in my eyes, but Johanna was so nice and understanding, I immediately felt more comfortable. I told Dr. Gary Bircham about my fears (mostly that I would have my eyeballs lasered away, which I realize is totally irrational) and he talked me through each point at a level I could understand, without making me feel like an idiot. He even called in Dr. Straub and the three of us had a discussion about the history of LASIK and how the techniques/​laser technologies have changed over the past few decades since the first LASIK device. Summary of that conversation is that the laser device they are now using is pretty fail safe in terms of the procedure, the «what ifs» come in with each patient’s individual response in terms of healing, which is almost entirely unpredictable.
I was initially a little put off with the idea of getting a procedure done at what is essentially a strip mall, but after visiting the office, I saw they were an extremely professional surgical site. Furthermore, all they do is LASIK. All day, every day. The center must do 15 – 20 procedures a day, which means that the doctor is doing 100+ a week. If practice makes perfect, they have to be pretty close to perfect because they have done so many procedures.
They set me up for an appointment in January (which was due to my insurance. They could have gotten me in MUCH sooner) and told me to check with my insurance company to make sure that the cost would be covered. They have a LasikPlus 800 number, but they told me to call the Lakewood center directly if I had any questions. They easily could have deflected my silly questions to the «main office», but they took the extra step in customer service to take a personal interest in their patients.
Day of the surgery, I was out of control nervous. I was shaking and felt like I was going to throw up. I went through and signed all the paperwork, looking forward to the sedative I was promised. They gave me a single dose, and after about 20 minutes when I still wasn’t relaxed, they gave me another. It ended up working like a charm!
Doctor Howard Straub came out to the waiting room and talked me through exactly what was going to happen in the procedure room. He told me that he had performed the LASIK procedure on multiple family members, and that no one had disowned him, so he was pretty good at what he did :)
I was still stalling and trying to delay the procedure from actually happening when Dr. Straub grabbed my hand and said «Let’s do this». Then he went from a bedside manner mode to a serious surgical procedure mode. Which I LOVED. The operating room assistant is Chris and she works well with Dr. Straub. They talked me through the whole procedure as it was happening and did countdowns to let me (an each other) know how much longer each segment was going to take. As soon as they started the procedure, I was no longer nervous because the two of them were SO capable as a surgical team.
I laid on the table for 10 – 15 minutes and there were a bunch of lights I had to stare at and then I sat up and could IMMEDIATELY see clearly. I almost broke down because it was so emotional to finally be able to see without glasses or contacts. I went home, slept for the prescribed 5 hours and then just relaxed and marveled at how I could see with just my own eyes.
It’s only been 48 hours, but my recovery has been perfect. NO pain from the procedure. NO pain the night after the procedure. NO pain the next morning. No burning, no feeling like I have something in my eyes, no irritation what so ever. I’ve been hyper viligant about my eye drops (you have to put them in every 2 hours so I set a timer on my phone to go off to remind me). I’ve had issues with contacts in the past with itching, burning or irritation when I wore them for extended periods of time, so I expected there to be some problems with my healing, but I have so far avoided any really negative side effects of the surgery.
In summary, I’m pretty much obsessed with LasikPlus and the staff they have there. I chose LasikPlus because that was the place my insurance would cover, but I honestly don’t think there is any organization out there that could possibly do a better job than these guys. Also, they have a really nice coffee machine, plus canned pop and jolly ranchers. So that’s nice

I got LASIK just today and everything went very well. The team was absolutely great, I could not have asked for a better atmosphere. The surgery was painless and so is the recovery so far. The price is fair and you can get an easy payment plan.
I’ve opened my eyes a couple of hours ago and I can already see clearly, it is crazy! It’s definitely thumbs up for the LasikPlus Lakewood location!

I got LASIK here in February and everything went great. The procedure was quick and so was the recovery. And the price was better than TLC Laser Center on Colorado blvd, who said I had to get PRK. I was told that TLC is more conservative. I just don’t like that my eyes are still really dry but that is more my personal problem. I just got a Restasis prescription though so I’m hoping it will help the dryness. I like that I still have follow up appointments to check on my eyes until they aren’t dry anymore at no extra cost. I would definitely recommend this place in Belmar. There is always parking as well and close to my house.
